Deep water soloing in Malta

Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I’m a beginner climber and I’m interested in getting into deep water soloing while I’m in Malta. I’ve done some indoor climbing and a bit of outdoor climbing, but DWS would be pretty new to me, so I’m looking for some advice from people who know the area.

What are some good spots for a beginner to check out? Ideally I’m looking for places that are relatively easy to reach by public transport, as I won’t have a car.

I’d also be interested in hearing about the more popular/well-known DWS spots, even if they’re not necessarily the easiest for a complete beginner. It would be great to know which areas tend to have other climbers around, as I’d definitely prefer not to be completely on my own while getting started.

Thanks in advance!

What influence would Protestantism have on our culture and in particular on our political landscape?

While Xagħra’s outwards appearance may make it look as quiet as most other residential communities on Gozo, the location actually has quite a few sites that are worth going out of the way to visit.

Recommendations for good quality chinos for men that isn't Bortex

Bortex is garbage. Every single time I go to one of their outlets they never have the most basic items in the most popular sizes. My waist size is size 34 and apparently Bortex don't have any navy or brown chinos in stock anywhere on the island. At this point I have no idea how they are still in business or what the fuck they're even selling.

Can anyone recommend alternative stores for this? Must be good quality not looking for budget options.

I find it incredibly sarcastic that less people fine you for parking wrongly for example, and then THEY are the one parking however they feel like it. Is there a way to report this? Or do something? I was waiting for a tallinja today and they parked dead on the bus stop, so naturally the bus driver didn't even fucking stop.

I'm arriving in St. Julian's and need a UK to EU adapter so I can use standard European plugs in sockets. Can I pick one up at Spar Express, Welbee's, or local stores? Thanks!

Looking for a Maltese partner interested in importing Goods from asia

Hi everyone,

I'm an Indian citizen who's been living in Malta for the past 4 years. I'm setting up an export business bringing general goods from India into Malta sourcing is on my end, and thanks to the new India-EU trade agreement, there's now a real duty advantage on Indian spices coming into the EU.

What I don't have is deep knowledge of the Maltese retail/wholesale landscape, local business registration, or existing relationships with shops here( currently i am learning the market) which is where a local partner would be genuinely valuable.

If you're Maltese (or just Malta-based) and have experience in retail, import/distribution, or just know the local wellness/grocery scene well and are interested in getting involved even just to chat or a direct meeting and see if it's a fit send me a DM.

Happy to share more details privately. Thanks for reading!

Gozo

Hi! We will be visiting Gozo next week for six days. We have a boat tour booked and a cooking class.

I was hoping to get some recommendations- sites, beaches, restaurants- anything really. We will have a car so transportation is covered.

I’d love to hear your recommendations!

Need some help from those who grew up in Malta in the 90s

So this has been tormenting my friend for a while. We've been trying to remember the name of a snack (Mr Riley's or Sunchine Snacks or some similar shit).

So the bag had a white cartoon dog looking at a butterfly on green grass with blue skies as a backround.

The contents: cylindrical rings of roughly 1cm in height (kind of like party time rings, if you know, you know) but of three different colours: red, green, yellow.

Please, please, please help us out.

"Sources at the MTA said the sponsorship was approved following direct instructions from Tourism Minister Jo Etienne Abela rather than based on a tourism strategy, economic assessment or projected return on investment.

No evaluation was conducted to establish whether the €150,000 expenditure would attract additional tourists, increase visitor spending or provide Malta with meaningful exposure in the Italian market, according to the sources."
