Another late "On This Day" post, but it's honestly hard to keep track of the anniversaries of certain mass attacks when there's just so many to have a mental note on.

Edit: For the slide featuring the victims, I'd accidentally put in the image for the 1998 Westside Middle School shooting by mistake. It popped up when I searched up "West Nickel Mines School Shooting victims," & I have absolutely no idea why I didn't double-check this.

On September 1st, 2026, a 7th grade girl went into the bathroom, retrieved a pepper spray & a knife, pepper sprayed her physics teacher, stabbed the teacher & then started attacking everyone present in the classroom. After being pushed out of the classroom, she ignited a molotov cocktail into the hallway. Injuring a total of 7 people including 5 children throughout the attack.

Caleb Vazquez's girlfriend Sarah Santiago known online as Noelle and Waffening has been arrested and indicated on 3 counts of first degree murder and 1 count of first degree attempted murder for her participation and aid in planning with Caleb Vazquez and Cain Clark before the shooting, recording the livestream, distributing the livestream and distributing their manifesto.

She murdered her two children and her husband in May 2025, in Argentina.

According to the numerous reports, the 30 year old Russian national & citizen Mikhail Nikolaevich Shabunin has commited suicide in Herzeg Novi after he exchanged gunfire as the police closed-in. The motive for the shooting still remains unknown & the national days of mourning in Montenegro will be held until September 2nd.

MIDTOWN (WABC) -- One person was shot during an officer-involved shooting in Times Square on Monday afternoon, the NYPD said.

Police fired shots at 4:27 p.m. between Seventh Avenue West and 42nd and 43rd Streets, police said.

Police sources said a woman who appeared to be emotionally disturbed was threatening people with two knives.

The incident was initially reported as a knifepoint robbery but police now believe the emotionally disturbed person had no clear motive, police said.

At 4:26 p.m. FDNY responded to 42nd and Seventh Avenue for a report of a person stabbed.

Police said the woman stabbed two people, a man and a woman before police arrived.

Then the woman fled north toward the NYPD substation where police confronted her, police said.

Police say the woman refused to put the knives down when police approached her.

The woman who was shot and the two victims who were stabbed were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police are closing traffic from West 42nd street to West 47th Street as the investigation continues.

In my last post I wrote that Nancy Lanza mentioned the school psychologist Mary Sherlach, and that I wasn't too sure if it was the same one who was one of the victims at Sandy Hook. I found her name written here on the IEP paper from the final release

Now I am almost positive Adam might have recognized Sherlach in some form.

On 26th September 2022, 34 year old former student entered his former school number 88, shooting everyone in sight killing 18 people (including 11 children aged 7-15) and injuring further 23 before commiting suicide. He was armed with 2 converted traumatic Makarov pistols which had the "Dylan", "Eric", "Columbine" text keychains on them. Along with the pistols he brought to the school, he brought an additional 44 magazines with inscriptions of "HATRED" on them.
