Too expensive!

Hey all! Is there a way to grab Conquer the Stars for cheap? Maybe like a key site? I'm having a rough time financially and would love to join some friends who have it. Thanks in advance!

Look for a freeware game called Remnants of the Precursors on itch.io. It's free to download and play. You can just google the URL.

It is a remake of the first Master of Orion game, and it is very similar. You'll be satisfied.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to join your friends in multiplayer play.

Um, don't play the itch.io version, it's old.

Get the latest version from github: https://github.com/BrokenRegistry/Rotp-Fusion/releases/latest

EDIT. There's also https://remnantsoftheprecursors.org/ Currently it's quite basic, please let me know if you want anything added to that page.

It’s currently $24.99 on Steam. I’ve seen it go on sale for $19.99 but not in awhile

Ignore Conquer the Stars - it's bad. Get MoO2 (or for retro vibes MoO1) from gog for cheap, or other new clones.

I think that the remake is honestly a really good beginner 4X game with excellent production quality. It's certain not the most in-depth and a tad generic but it's competent if you don't like the older visuals.

But I agree, MoO2 has supreme vibes.

I do actually prefer Conquer the Stars over MoO2. To each his own but I think its worth waiting for it to come on sale on Steam.
