Album: As Night Conquers Day (1999)
I've been listening to this album since probably the early 2000s (I believe I was 14 at the time of discovery), and it's still one of my favorite melodeath albums to this day. I would say 99% of the buddies I've played it for over the years haven't heard of the band or this album. It's one of those records that seems to have been largely forgotten, which is a shame because I think it's an absolute gem.... even after all these years, it still hits the same way it did when I first heard it.
It got me thinking about all the great bands that never really got their due from the melodeath genre. So, what's a lesser-known band or a one album wonder that you think deserved a much bigger audience? I'm always looking for hidden classics that other people have kept to themselves over the years.

P.S. Please check it out, this album deserves a listen through at least once. Favorite song off this album is Another Day, Another Demon... it has such an epic sound to it.

I was so sad when I discovered Finnish melodic death metal that every band is either abandond or someone died. Now next year COB will tour, norther will have a reunion and ensiferum just announced (while petri will tour with norther) that they will go on tour with jari (wintersun) and only play the old songs. This is going to be soooo cool!

Not necessarily this particular album, although I liked it the most.

The chorus has been stuck in my head ever since this album came out.

Is the slaughter of the soul album art inspired by gorefests 1992 false/erase? they are very similar, i just got into gorefest they are pretty great although not melodeath.

Few years ago there was a full version "official" vídeo in good quality of their last concert in youtube​ but was deleted for some reason. I searched a lot in alternative websites but didn't find. Someone can help?
