It's so versatile
Here's my build recommendations:
- Max valence, with Larva, using Vesper 77 with leaded gas, and gas infusion.
- Electric with coda pox or melee influence
- Min valence Xatablast, with proboscis cernos
- Min valence with cedo prime, using about any combined element

Valence Formation with a Cedo prime running primary debilitate. Inflict all of the status

It’s such a hard decision to make. Do I do the infinite fart loop, the mindless null star nuke, Slamvos, gun platform, full caster, etc.
So many options it’s like making a new character in Skyrim everytime I open Warframe

Hold on! Null star nuke on Lavos?

Null Star is affected by universal weapon damage buffs.
Like Valence Formation.
If you stack enough of this like swap mods and arcane Arachne with high power strength and the augment to dump all your null stars at once it can do CHUNKY damage.

Me who's never played with lavos even tho he's not actually that bad to play with.

Imagine subsuming a lavos ability and losing access to 4 elemental infusions

u/FrucklesWithKnuckles Whip Waifu 14h ago
You’re missing out on some funny variety. It takes thought behind which to subsume to keep the elements that matter, but Lavos does like some subsumes.

I need everyone's lavos builds because he is still rotting in my arsenal
4
u/Illusion911 16h ago
Well, his valence formation not only guarantees status, but it also makes damage over time do more damage
So you can use a secondary with primed heated charge or convulsion and focus on that.

Let me give you the single most important piece of advice on playing him that I had to figure out myself, despite having asked in threads like this a dozen times trying to figure out how to play him. It doesn't matter if you use him as a weapon buffer or nuke or anything else...
Know what the enemies you're fighting are weak against and infuse your abilities with that before you use them. If you don't, you will not experience what it is to lavos.

New daily challenge: Kill x enemies with y status damage.
Lavos players: \giggles**

Dunno, I keep playing a spam ability build with the mandatory cedo, and still having fun with that

u/Pure-Risky-Titan 15h ago
Me who uses the same build for long time, and no subsume, cuz i dont need that at all.

u/BiddlesticksGuy 11h ago
I like Valence with strun incarnon, mod the gun viral heat and add any element with valence and you’re cooking with gas

u/Bubbadevlin 15h ago
As someone who doesn't particularly like his kit, my lavos build is valence formation then just switching between buffing helminths (roar & xatas)
He's still great, but god I can't stand the hold-tap infusing cycle if I'm actually casting more often than 45 seconds
3
u/Illusion911 15h ago
you can make it so you tap to infuse, and hold to cast
1
u/altsigns28 14h ago
Yeah, as somebody who JUST finally had it click how important infusions are to playing him, no matter the build, I need to do that. I find myself accidentally using my abilities when I'm trying to infuse an element way too often.

Triple umbral Lavos with Valence Formation is my old reliable weapon’s platform build. Though I usually run Cedo prime on him
1
u/Xercodo 10h ago
When you say max valence and min valence what stat are you referring to? Since it's always 200% I try to work with a mix of range and enough duration to be able to forget about it for a little while, but I also like going all in on range to make vial rush a more effective movement ability, and probe convert more drops easier
2
u/Illusion911 10h ago
I mean the mod's rank.
Since Valence formation affects your weapon's status weight, it's not a good thing if you're trying to get many different procs for gunCO builds
1
u/Xercodo 10h ago
Ohhhh, hadn't considered that before
Would it be negligible to the effectiveness of Encumber?
Edit: or debilitate?
1
u/Illusion911 10h ago
Valence formation already guarantees a proc, so lower rank in those contexts allows you to proc different ones.
For encumber, there shouldn't be a difference, but yes for debilitate
It would depend if you want to spread different types, or focus on getting 1 to to 10 stacks asap. Min Valence is better for the first option

u/Practical_Handle8434 9h ago
The passive augment with twin rogga and the arcane that makes you deal flat damage per proc is really, really funny. The smiting flintlocks of "fuck you". Blast is a flashbang, cold is a freeze ray, so on and so forth
With a riven, i think the highest I've gotten its multishot is in the mid 50's range

u/Illusion911 9h ago
Omg you're right. I was looking at arcane irradiate but that one is so interesting too

Is it because lavos energy color is linked to a status dmg like chroma, so fashion frame is important?
3
u/Illusion911 15h ago
No, it's because Lavos synergizes with a lot of weapons and playstyles
4
u/NotSNAKY 15h ago
3
u/Illusion911 14h ago
His Valence formation gives +200% elemental damage and a guaranteed status proc for every bullet.
It boosts like a 200% shock trooper does, for example.
And since it's guaranteed proc, you can use it with viral, magnetic or corrosive

u/Illusion911 14h ago
Oh btw, he can choose whatever element on the fly.
You can stick to one the whole mission, or keep changing between them
