Could you elaborate? I just beat that game and it doesn't have a cliffhanger. It has definitive endings.

They could've picked an ending and rolled with it as cannon then introduce another protagonist or antagonist.

It wouldve been cool to maybe see it from a different branch if the military in a different setting with similar surreal situations.
