Thinks it’s Roman due to the iridescence

Found this Blickensderfer No. 7 typewriter while scuba diving in the Etowah River in Rome, GA! 🤯 Dating from 1897–1916, this thing could be over 100 years old and was completely covered in rock and river sediment.

First time out detecting, I just have a not-so-good detector off Amazon I got for like $200, just wanted to dip my toes in the hobby.

I was detecting Reebs Bay Beach in Wainfleet Ontario(Canada). A lot of bottle caps, a lot of nails, but also a sweet bracelet which is possibly copper, I'm not sure how to tell? Also a shotgun shell and some other random metal chunks. A little pencil sharpener too! I think the one item may be like a melted fishing lure?

I'm definitely addicted straight away, any recommendations on better Detectors? Thanks!

It’s in Russian, and if I understand it correctly, it’s a plate that was attached to an icon or something similar, that was made by soldiers of the 3rd company of the 626th regiment of the Tomsk infantry Druzhina, under Captain K. Kosmich, on October 11, 1914 in Barnaul.

Also I found that this unit was truly stationed in Barnaul in 1914 after the mobilization.

Found in Baltics.

Just sharing some of my all time favorites from my favorite spot. I actually don’t have a metal detector but this spot is so rich with buttons that I don’t need it yet. I’ll save that for when I stop finding these gems on the trail. Guessing most of these are from early 1900s when the park was a train yard following the saw mill that was there before. Someone told me that the saw mill was used to make recycled fabric books and they had children and women removing buttons and closures off clothing so they could put them through the saw mills? Could never find any information to back that - though it would make sense for the heavy amount of buttons and overall clasps I’ve found here.

My favorites are the Carhartt’s with the train and heart. I’m happy for anyone to just info dump I love to learn.

Had a very good time this morning. Found a mess of clad and zincolns plus a '52 S wheat cent. Not many thingys but did find a '80 Corvette.

I found this whilst walking at Dulas Estuary (on Anglesey).

Does any recognise something similar or have any insight into what this may be?

Two Wheaties plus an old boy scout slide. After a 3 week hiatus (surgery restrictions) I finally got back out for some fun. It was a good day, oldest coin besides the wheat pennies was a 1967 quarter. I detected a rock quarry swimming hole. I will be going back for a water search. I had forgotten my scoop on this trip.

I've recently started detecting a field that the owner says hasn't been detected before. The field has been used as a horse pasture and I found a horseshoe nail, an old looking bit of metal chain and what looks like a brass buckle. What I've been having is a lot of chirpy targets that just tend to disappear. I am using a Garrett Ace 250. Any advice or ways to avoid the chirpy targets that disappear?

Specifically Leenan Beach, the end further away from the pier if you know it.

I’m guessing that the smaller one is for anchoring ropes on a boat/jetty? Not sure about the larger one, that took an age to dig up. Both quite heavy for their size.

Decided to try it out in my backyard here in East Tennessee. Wasn’t expecting much but my husband is saying these are possibly older than 1940 which is when our home and neighborhood was built. Which is pretty cool to me even if they’re just nails and parts. Do these look like they could be from earlier than the 1900’s ? Kind of need an excuse to dig up more areas in my yard 😅

Two iron finds from the area of a medieval castle that had already disappeared by around 1450.
The first is a socketed iron spearhead, approximately 11 cm long.
The second is an iron spur, with a U-shaped body and a projecting rear element.
Both pieces are consistent with a medieval context, most likely dating to the 14th century (1300s).

Not looking for specific areas like battlefields or old parks. just something that is legal and really might not to be bothered.

Found buried underwater at a beach on Lake Huron. I’m so stoked because this is only my second ring ever! i can’t wait to find out what kind of stone is in it
