Hijacking to say, you can get a free ‘metal detector’ phone app. Absolutely no idea how it works and you have to be really close to the lost thing. Have used it a couple of times in this exact scenario where I roughly knew my dropped bit or screw was.

I don't usually work outside but was setting up a steel building to park a van under in my back yard. Kept dropping bolts and then started slapping a magnet at the grass like a crackhead for a few minutes, worked like a charm

This happened to me once and I was using Gemini AI to try to help me fix my lawn mower. I dropped something small like this and off-handedly said out loud that I dropped it and where the hell is it while I scanned my phone around absent-mindedly looking for it. The AI chimed right in and told me exactly where the thing was because it saw it on the ground as I moved my phone camera around. That might be the coolest thing AI has ever done for me.
