I just wanted a hot dog Doctor’s appointment scheduled at 9:00am, still waiting almost an hour later

Post image

I have a lot of doctor’s appointments, and I know how busy and hard these people work. I’m not mad at them and I’d never be rude. I know it’s not on purpose. Nevertheless, it’s still a bit infuriating to make time for a scheduled appointment, arrive 15 minutes early (required), and then wait this long with not even an acknowledgment of the delay from anyone. Sigh. 9:55 now, still waiting.

Edit: I really appreciate all the comments! The doctor ended up coming in shortly after 10. This was a specialist ortho appointment for my shoulder. Still no acknowledgement of the delay, which would’ve been nice, but I’m more annoyed that my concerns were pretty much brushed off again during the whole 3ish minutes he spent with me. I know waits can get long, I wouldn’t care as much if the doctor had at least seemed somewhat concerned with my issue. Sigh… gotta love American healthcare!

Start opening cabinets. They will be right in when you are mid opening.

Go for the box of gloves

Time to start making glove balloon animals.

I always left with a pair of glove-udders after an appointment as a kid

191

u/positive_thinking_ 1d ago

I’ve had nurses take them from my kid due to hospital policy. Bs.

u/MartinisnMurder 1d ago

When I got my wisdom teeth out I hugged the nurse and told her they did a great job… I also asked if I could take home a pair of gloves from the recovery room. (I was obviously well medicated) They put a bunch in my purse. My brother was my ride and was laughing his ass off.

115

u/my_chaffed_legs 1d ago

I imagine looking into the purse the next day after the drugs wore off and being like “why tf are there gloves in here/ why did I want gloves!?”

64

u/MartinisnMurder 1d ago

I was like what do I need these for?! And then they ended up being used for random stuff like when I cut hot peppers etc. I think I was like 16-17 or so.

2

u/JackPoe 21h ago

I occasionally go by restaurants and ask the kitchen for a box of gloves. It's so nice to have on hand.

4

u/okaybutnothing 12h ago

I mean, you can just buy them.

When I got mine out there was a puppy calendar on the wall in the room where I woke up, I guess I asked the nurse to remind me to get one cause I liked it so much, when I got home I found a note in my pocket it was a prescription paper that said “reminder— get a puppy calendar!!!”

19

u/MartinisnMurder 1d ago

That’s amazing! Also your username! 🙌 Two of my favorite things in the world.

8

u/PetsAndMeditate 1d ago

The 2 things that can ease my anxiety

7

u/MartinisnMurder 1d ago

Same! I mediate in the morning after yoga before I begin my adulting and before bed to chill myself out before bed. My dog is also my favorite person (other than my husband) in the world. She’s an old lady now and I can’t even fathom losing her.

2

u/EmergencyFresh2204 18h ago

Love your user name too.

2

u/FuckYeaSeatbelts 1d ago

I find it so strange at the lack of standardization for dental care. Like why was I allowed to keep my wisdom teeth but others were told they couldn't because it's a biohazard?

2

u/MartinisnMurder 1d ago

No idea! I know they wanted to take mine out because I previously had braces and there was a concern that as they grew in more they could alter my teeth etc.

2

u/Sweet_Star23 21h ago

I had an urgent care give me a little baggy with nearly a full box of gloves and some tape, to make showering easier, when I sliced my entire thumb open. Thought it was very sweet of them lol

u/WormDentist 1d ago

I had oral surgery a couple weeks ago and I stopped on the way to buy a deck of cards. (Long story.) I had taken Xanax, so by the time I got to the office I was feeling really nice. For some reason, I took the deck of cards with me into surgery. I remember saying “I probably won’t need these” and handed them to the assistant right before the IV sedation kicked in.

A few hours after I got home and panicked and asked my husband, “Did you get my cards?”

Some people have emotional support animals. Some people have comfort blankets. I have a deck of cards. 😂

1

u/MartinisnMurder 1d ago

That’s so funny! It’s crazy what we find comfort in when we need it. 🤣

1

u/Pale_Obligation4239 23h ago

Bless them 😂😂

2

u/Main_Ad_3814 1d ago

When a hospital makes a rule that seems stupid, it’s usually because of a complaint, incident, or lawsuit. There was a hospital sued for an incident where a kid swallowed the glove and asphyxiated to death. Now we have to guard the gloves.
We also recently had to take hand sanitizer out of the ER rooms because patients were drinking it, thinking it’s only alcohol.

1

u/SchuminWeb 1d ago

Yeah, it's not like the hospital can still use them at that point...

My mom did this once. We went for some pediatric appointment for my 5 year old self.

I remember my mom was getting pissy that we had been waiting almost an hour and there was literally nobody in the waiting room. Honestly, my mom is awful and rude, and I think they may have been making her wait on purpose.

Eeeeeither way, she handed me the box of gloves and told me to start blowing up the balloons! We were going to have a surprise party for the doctor and nurses!

Girl, I turned that entire box of gloves into goofy hand shaped balloons. The doctor wandered in just as I was asking my mom for another box of 'balloons'.

Doctor was visibly upset lol He told my mom we would need to reschedule with no explanation. We never went back to that doctor. I don't know if we were let go as patients, or if my mom just decided to switch my doctor, but I think about that day every time I put on my mechanic gloves to work on something. The goblin 5 year old in the back of my head is just screaming "BALLOOOOOOOONS".

154

u/turkeygiant 1d ago

Honestly even if your mom was a bitch, it's also incredibly unprofessional to have somebody waiting 60mins past their appointment time without an explanation. Like after 15 min max the office admin should have stepped in to say "I'm sorry the Doctor is late coming back from their shift at the hospital" or "I'm sorry the doctor is with another patient who needed more time than was initially planned".

51

u/jerseygirl1105 23h ago

Your mom may be rude, but waiting almost an hour would cause anyone to become a bitch.

31

u/Your_Cat_In_Disguise 21h ago

She's naturally a bitch. Under the right conditions, she can be a super bitch.

11

u/Resident-Gold-3446 1d ago

Yes, especially if there wasn't anyone in the waiting room.

7

u/Ordinary_Ad_7992 23h ago

Yeah, I'm also with your mom on this one! Bitch it no bitch, no one should wait that long at a pediatrician's appointment. Kids do not have the patience for that!

3

u/Impressive_Clock_863 1d ago

Good idea! Just love that balloons all over. 😂

4

u/Your_Cat_In_Disguise 21h ago

They covered almost the entire floor lmao

Those rooms you wait in with the table are super small, though, so idk if that's worth anything

3

u/HotReference02 21h ago

Haha love this story! Doctors think their shit don't stink. Eff 'em. Your time is money too.

2

u/Hydroborator 12h ago

Eff that doctor. I would be so elated and join in the fun if I walked into that room! Life is too short!!

45

u/hellacedes_ 1d ago

I had to take my 3 year old to urgent care the other day, and THIS was the thing that was able to get him to calm down.

5

u/RetiredBSN 20h ago

When I worked in the ER and kids were involved, I'd blow up a glove, draw an eye on each side of the fingers and a smile underneath the thumb. It usually got them calmed down a bit.

69

u/Caftancatfan 1d ago

My kids’ doctor has a sign that says “please don’t make balloons out of the gloves.”

Yeah, you may have gone to medical school, but I went to clown college, and you can’t stop me.

7

u/Ordinary_Ad_7992 23h ago

Usually my daughter-in-law or son are able to do the appointments, but on one of those rare occasions when I had the honor of taking them, my grandkids' ear doctor was making balloons to keep them busy while we talked! He was fun!

7

u/Old-Piece-3438 1d ago

Just float one out into the hallway every 5 minutes or so.

12

u/Little_View_6659 1d ago

I did that once!

62

u/ArcadianDelSol 1d ago

I always have 2 or 3 of those super long q-tips sticking out of my shirt pocket when the doctor comes in just to see if they say anything.

Not a single comment yet in all my life. I know they saw it.

27

u/Sinisterfox23 1d ago

That is a weird thing to do. I like you.

8

u/KittiesRule1968 19h ago

We need to be friends, you're my kind of weird lol.

5

u/ArcadianDelSol 17h ago

I dont shell roasted peanuts. I just eat em.

FYI: the shells, while very dry, taste just like the crust on toast. Not exactly delicious, but not awful, either.

Why? When I was a child, someone handed me one and I just ate it. They thought it was crazy so they gave me another one. Everyone thought it was a bit hit. I simply never stopped.

7

u/Tee1upToday 1d ago

Bring a shoulder bag for situations like this. Nitrile gloves are always great for painting/staining furniture and decks.

2

u/NoondayPolkas 1d ago

Yeah lol, putting them on one by one and suddenly the whole medical team appears.

3

u/MulletOnFire 1d ago

And when you put the on have them make that loud snapping noise.

2

u/underlyingconditions 1d ago

When the kids were babies, I would get samples from the cabinets.

1

u/ThePrefect0fWanganui 1d ago

I always grab a handful of gloves from the pee sample cabinet in the bathroom. I use them for dying my hair lmao.

259

u/FullOption3126 1d ago

This is how my cats successfully demand my presence when I’m ignoring them

10

u/Snobolski 1d ago

Previous cat: Locked-on eye contact while knocking shit off a shelf.

When the current cat wants our attention he attacks the dog.

7

u/Yourlilemogirl 1d ago

I can already hear my kitchen and bathroom cabinets banging closed from them when reading this lol

1

u/ScroochDown 19h ago

Same with ours!

3

u/TransparentFostering 1d ago

Yep. Our diva chews on plastic loudly bc she realized we can’t stand that sound. 😂

LMAO 💀

374

u/hondamom99 1d ago

I actually did this, my husband was laughing so hard that the nurse came in. It worked!! I just happened to open the drawer and starting going through their stuff.

60

u/pixie_pie 1d ago

Did you find something interesting?

183

u/DisposableSaviour 1d ago

I’ve taken syringes and 22-24 gauge needles for them before, because some of my warhammer miniatures have bits that need to be glued and even the smallest glue applicators can be too big.

96

u/emcgrew 1d ago

And also drugs, but that's not the point.

77

u/fractal_frog 1d ago

Drugs would be cheaper.

28

u/lousy_at_handles 1d ago

And less socially destructive.

8

u/BigmaEnjoyer 1d ago

"Little sniff for daddy, little dab for the miniature"

2

u/d_lev 1d ago

Lmao

7

u/Doctor-Dinosaur 1d ago

He already said that he's (ab)using Warhammer miniatures.

3

u/DisposableSaviour 1d ago

I can stop whenever I want! I just don’t want to stop right now.

Also, James Worksop may be an expensive dealer, but at least he gives freebies the first weekend of every month.

1

u/W_HoHatHenHereHy 1d ago

Record scratch… are you sure?

2

u/DisposableSaviour 1d ago

Yes? At any official Warhammer store they do free miniatures the first weekend of every month. It changes between Sigmar and 40k, but I bring my kids and we all get one. No purchase necessary. They’re usually from a new line they want to promote. This month instead of being single sprue pieces, they were orks cut apart from a larger sprue from the new Armageddon set.

I have heard that some stores require you build it there, but not in my experience, but it could happen.

Edit: oh, you mean can I stop? Why would I try when I don’t want to. I just need one more mini for my army. After this one, I mean. And after that one, too. And the tank. And the terrain. Just gotta put in a few more hours at work is all.

1

u/CorporateCuster 1d ago

I got banned from IG for a similar joke. lol

22

u/BastetLXIX 1d ago

Yep! I did the same when I was painting Silent Death ship minis.

... maybe I should get back into painting? I still haven't made my cross dressing Orcs yet.

4

u/DisposableSaviour 1d ago

Fuck yeah on the cross dressing Orks. I’ve been working on a genderbent Sororitas cosplay, a Mister Superior of the Adeptus Brororitas, the Misters of Battle.

2

u/BastetLXIX 1d ago

Oh damn that sounds hella fun!

3

u/pixie_pie 1d ago

If you do get back into it, you know that you have to update us. 👀

3

u/WorkWoonatic 1d ago

You probably already know this, but Tamiya Extra Thin Cement, the bottle with green lid. made life so much easier for me.

2

u/DisposableSaviour 1d ago

It has the same size applicator as citadel glue. I need a smaller applicator sometimes.

2

u/-32768 1d ago

Free otoscopes on the wall, usually. I prefer the welch allyn brand.

1

u/Rugkrabber 1d ago

So did you take them home and finish your miniatures?

2

u/DisposableSaviour 1d ago

Yes. I’ve also bought insulin needles for the same use.

4

u/hondamom99 1d ago

Not really, just cotton swabs and alcohol wipes. It was just for shits and giggles. I said " lala a what if I just opened this drawer and see what's in here" and my husband found it so funny and unexpected from me because it was out of my nature to do stuff like that.

1

u/Partisan_Croissant 1d ago

“We’ve been waiting in here so long she’s having a psychotic break…”

157

u/Mean-Vegetable-4521 1d ago

I’m cackling. Current situation.

40

u/onlymostlydead 1d ago

Well there's a chair blocking the door. They can't get in!

8

u/Mean-Vegetable-4521 23h ago

LOL. I don't know what's beyond that. Some kind of imagine maybe? I've been in this room a number of times and that door has never opened. There's always a chair there.

4

u/Emergency_Stick3963 1d ago

Thats so weird. Why don't they leave you in a waiting room?

10

u/ThePrefect0fWanganui 1d ago

Because why would they let you hang out in a waiting room with magazines and a comfortable climate when they can force you to put on a paper gown and sit in a tiny room with nothing to do and sub zero temps for 30 minutes? Seriously though I usually lay my ass right down on the table and try to take a nap because it’s almost always a long wait.

6

u/Mean-Vegetable-4521 1d ago

None of my doctors have magazines anymore. I think it’s because we all have internet. New surroundings.

5

u/EnthuseConfuse 23h ago

I make it a point to look at everything and not use my phone at all. Waiting rooms, lines, doctors exam rooms...

I will definitely notice that spider web, burnt out bulb, ceiling tile water stain etc. I don't care but its like my own little secret Easter egg hunt.

2

u/Mean-Vegetable-4521 17h ago

I have literally counted the ceiling tiles and half tiles so many times I could be their architect.

The second doctors office is a brand new building. The coolest looking furniture that looks comfortable and is misleading. Looks cushy yet made of totally solid no cushion. I have sat in every single thing. Some of them are these huge, cartoony like Beetlejuice looking chairs.

2

u/ThePrefect0fWanganui 20h ago

It’s true, magazines as a whole are almost nonexistent anyway which sucks. I’ve had my phone die in the waiting room of a notoriously late doctor and it was actual torture.

2

u/Mean-Vegetable-4521 18h ago

I carry a charger with me for this reason. Trying to find an outlet has been interesting. Once in a room it's manageable. While out in waiting room it's always funny when I'm hiding in a corner because of an outlet and look like a house elf protecting it's stash.

5

u/Mean-Vegetable-4521 1d ago

It’s actually better in here becauee then I don’t have to listen to all the snot rockets and cell phones on speakerphone

3

u/Emergency_Stick3963 1d ago

Absolutely. I hate waiting rooms. Would mean less germs too.

Just an odd sight as I am used to them!

3

u/Mean-Vegetable-4521 1d ago

This thing is made like a bed. I’m seriously debating a nap.

2

u/Emergency_Stick3963 1d ago

Are you still waiting???

2

u/Mean-Vegetable-4521 23h ago

ROFL. No, I'm on my way home.

77

u/Jaybrosia 1d ago

yes, start taking samples as compensation for your time

44

u/Peach_Proof 1d ago

Start rearranging the stuff

7

u/PiccoloAwkward465 1d ago

I'll take the fucking cabinets. I came in a truck, no issue loading them in the bed. You waste my time, I'll waste your purchase money.

5

u/d_lev 1d ago

3

What’s the difference?

3

u/hellacedes_ 19h ago

I wouldn’t say a drastic difference but what is being kept in drawers and cabinets definitely varied.

2

u/FairyOfTheNight 19h ago

I'd also love to know the difference.

31

u/Minute_Librarian981 1d ago

I do this exact thing, and bingo!

17

u/illdrawyourface 1d ago

One time I dared my daughter to start dancing while waiting in the room and she said “someone’s probably going to come in as soon as I start” I said “nah, we’ve been waiting half an hour you’ll be fine” so she starts awkwardly dancing and BOOM the door opens, not a knock, nothing

5

u/Resident-Gold-3446 1d ago

😂🤣😂🤣

7

u/Blockmaster2706 1d ago

When I was at the doctor a while ago while i was waiting the PC was unlocked with his ID Card still in the reader. Obviously I was extremely tempted to go looking at it but I was scared of exactly this scene happening

7

u/SweeterSqueak 1d ago

Yeah lol, apparently the fastest way to summon a doctor is to look like you’re about to touch something you shouldn’t.

8

u/VV1NST0N 1d ago

This what I do. Leaving the room and walking up and down the hallway usually works too

7

u/Nivashuvin 1d ago

I had to go to an urgent care after stupidly getting cleaning fluid in my eye. Blinking hurt. Not blinking made it hurt even more. I sat in the waiting room for an hour. It’s fine, I know it gets busy. They move me into an exam room and say that the doctor will be there in a moment. 20 more moments pass, no doctor, I press the call button. The nurse tells me to be patient, the doctor is busy. I catch just a slight hint of condescension in her tone.

Joke’s on her, I’m a doctor too! I’m only here because I can’t do an eye exam on myself. What I can do - now that my patience actually is spent - is raid their medicine cabinet. I quickly avail myself of some lidocaine eye drops and after a few seconds of intense pain, the relief. is. heavenly.

I obviously had to explain to the on call physician why I’m no longer in the excruciating pain I’ve been reporting since getting to the clinic, but it’s all good. No corneal damage which is what I needed to check. Just a slight chemical burn that healed over a few days.

93

u/Lithogiraffe 1d ago

i do this. never been caught.

i'm just bored and curious. i'd do the same if left at someone's house alone. just the kitchen/living room cabinets though. i would never go into a friend's bedroom and start snooping. i'm not a asshole, and would be upset if they did it to me.

72

u/ObligatoryAnxiety 1d ago

I did this to my granddaughter after she started going through my home office desk drawers. She'd say, "I'm just looking!" so I'd race off to her bookbag or room and start rummaging through it all and respond with, "What? I'm just looking" ... I'm still fairly certain she hasn't learned her lesson though. Might move my candy stash today....

46

u/Huge-Ad2263 1d ago

If she's finding candy, it sounds like she is learning through positive reinforcement that rummaging leads to free candy!

33

u/DisposableSaviour 1d ago

One time when I was a kid, I thought I had found a stash of some hard candies, and went to town. They were honey lemon Ricolas, and if you don’t know, eating a bunch of Ricolas at once can have a laxative effect. Little me was shitting his brains out all day.

8

u/twoscoop 1d ago

Do they???

5

u/RoguePlanet2 1d ago

Might be artificial sweetener, I'm guessing.

4

u/DisposableSaviour 1d ago

Some of the herbs they use, also.

12

u/ObligatoryAnxiety 1d ago

She found candy only one time, asked me if she could have a piece, and cried when I told her no on the principle that she only found it while rummaging through my drawers. Usually, she brings me whatever she finds to ask me about the object (scissors, cash, foreign currency, a new pen/marker, some fidget thing I got at work, etc) and if she can play with it or have it. She is aging to a point where either she's gonna stop bringing me my stuff because 1) she's playing without asking or because 2) she's stopped rummaging. I'm not going to know which option it is either, lol, so better for me to proactively relocate my office candy stash. And hey, maybe I'll eat less candy during work? Win-win

1

u/fi3rc3stpanda 1d ago

So we're talking about a child here?

Your first comment just reads so weird now. You racing to her room and then rummaging through her stuff is less of a lesson and more of a game. The child is likely not aware there's a lesson there

1

u/ObligatoryAnxiety 1d ago

She was absolutely aware it was a lesson, and we talked about it afterwards. She was old enough, 5 almost 6, to understand what it meant to be told no, and old enough to understand consequences of doing something she was told explicitly not to do. Only after it happened to her did she fully grasp what it felt like and why you just don't do it. She still makes mistakes, but we all do. Sorry my reality makes you feel weird.

15

u/moeyjarcum 1d ago

Hell yeah. Gotta love it when you use the golden rule for everyday life lol

4

u/dimdada 1d ago

Same here. I’ve taken my fair share of bandaids. I go through everything. Used to use the computer in the rooms as well. Now those are password protected. And no it was just to use the internet, the doctor’s programs were always password protected.

9

u/SpartanRage117 1d ago

Id like to see a doctor come in and see a dude snacking on cough drops and watching YouTube on the office comp

2

u/Carly_Fae_Jepson 1d ago

I’m going to know every med you’ve taken the past 5 years if you invite me over.

7

u/docdeathray 1d ago

Always go for the extra long wood qtips. Those things are the best.

7

u/David_Cockatiel 1d ago

Or get on the phone, somehow that magically summons them. The more important the call, the more sure they will be in to immediately interrupt

7

u/sleepybrooke 1d ago

I was in an exam room at my University’s health center, for an hour and forty-five minutes. At that point, I grabbed a stethoscope on the counter, and left. Take my time, I take your stethoscope.

6

u/TheeAntelope 1d ago

I once played Solitaire on a computer they had left unlocked. They got mad at me, but I was the one who had been waiting 20 minutes next to an unlocked computer and only played solitaire - they got off lucky.

6

u/Vandelay_all_day 1d ago

This is the way. Mainly I just wanted ideas for my clinic organization too 🤣

4

u/Angie_T84 1d ago

I like to collect the tape as thats only thing they leave down now.

4

u/Cavaquillo 1d ago

I always give them 30 minutes before I start looking for stuff to steal

4

u/Strange-Guidance-236 23h ago

Lol this is exactly what I do, I snoop around while waiting....sometimes take a bandaid or something.

4

u/Financial_Table_1848 22h ago

Yep this. It’s amazing how much stuff they got in there that has other uses. Those blue little rolled up puke bags? Great for kids with car sickness. A handfull of gloves, great for bar b q or for fish tank maintenance. The measured syringes with no needle? Dosing for little kids medicine. I was left for 45 minutes in a room and I basically looted it, but didn’t try to hide it or anything. PA came back in and yelled at me, but then DR came in and I explained the situation and he laughed.

5

u/greencoloredcoat 20h ago

Better yet, fart a couple of times. That’s what summons them

10

u/CompetitiveCourse584 1d ago

That's why I always bring a back pack. You should check out my Etsy site where I sell customer first aid kits

3

u/neko 1d ago

This is how I found the dr's snack stash

3

u/Necessary_Relation27 23h ago

Also try the phone. Different extensions until you get to the secretary

3

u/HannahTheArtist 21h ago

WHY IS THIS BC I NEED THEM BIG OL DANG QTIPS OR ILL DIE and my resins won't have evenly dispersed glitter, THEN WHAT DO I DO

3

u/Locust627 19h ago

I consistently forget these clinics have live stream only cameras

I have caught myself acting out my impatience and hope that the nurses didn't see it on the cams

5

u/Boson347 1d ago

This is the only correct answer.

2

u/Apprehensive_Pace902 1d ago

That’s so funny

2

u/CelticSnakes 1d ago

Make a call on the Dr’s phone, too if they have one. Worked for Larry David.

2

u/eggsaladrightnow 23h ago

If games have taught me anything you might find some sweet pills in there. Or shotgun shells 👍

2

u/tidyingup92 23h ago

Did this at the hospital to the carts in the halls when no one was coming to check on my dad, and it worked lol.

2

u/boners_in_space 22h ago

Open the door to the hall outside. Make them see you waiting.

2

u/ComfortableShare5525 21h ago

I like to get really into karaoke at times like these!

2

u/Visible_Traffic_5774 18h ago

Yep!! Mine came in, 60 minutes late, when I was playing with the model skeleton feet and making them march singing “Noble Duke of York” 🤦‍♀️ this poor doctor- he always tries to look so unamused and never smiles because he knows if I’m there, I injured myself orthopedically in a really stupid way, but I did see the corner of his mouth twitch when he caught me with those feet!

Lick the tongue depressers one by one til someone shows up. Costs em a couple pennies every second they make you wait. 😈

u/MoreDaringPancakes 1d ago

No...no... Take a picture and then post it on social media.

Oh, then make a statement generalizing the situation as if to apply it to the whole system.

Huh? There’d be no one there to see you opening anything

This happened to me once, it turns out they forgot about me!

It works in fishing. Just as you bend down to grab your beer or jerky suddenly a fish bites.

Seriously!!! Heaven forbid I look for a bandaid!

u/jaygoogle23 17h ago

Who? The police ? Only works if you visit the doc with a ski mask.

I know this was probably a joke but I actually do this and it always seems to work!

u/lichtersee 13m ago

Tried that. Didn’t work. But it worked when I looked and clicked through the computer

I'm so freaked out that this is a fucking normal thing that people do. I'm sorry, but no wonder Hospital infections are out of control. These things are supposed to be sterile.

7

u/NewspaperOk140 1d ago

No, they're not. Exam rooms are not sterile environments, you're thinking of operating rooms.

3

u/Betty_PunCrocker 1d ago

You know tons of people touch these things before they make it to their final destination, right? Not to mention everything is individually sealed and packaged anyway, which gets disposed off before it makes contact with a patient.

My wife does this at her appointments. We're always walking out with souvenirs like tongue depressors, blood pressure cuffs, gloves, bandaids, gauze, those protective things they put on the ear thermometer, etc

11

u/Testingcheatson 1d ago

Going through them is one thing but your wife should not be staking stiff especially BP cuffs. wtf is wrong with her?

Truly shitty behavior.

6

u/ScallionJealous 1d ago

We were laughing at the Pavlov response, Duck. Stealing for the fun of it is lame AF.

u/Maylark157 1d ago

Ah, so stealing…

4

u/ClumsyRaccoonPants 1d ago

So your wife is a klepto. Not the flex you think it is.

Wth are you even gonna do with plastic ear covers?? Yall just taking for the sake of taking. Reminds me of the women stealing all of the candy from Halloween bowls lefts outside a house.
