I haven't used 150 lemons in my lifetime.

But, in my lifetime, I’ve bought 150 lemons & then threw them away because they got squishy or really hard in the fridge

Or all of a sudden, overnight, they turned into moldy balls.

I hate moldy balls

You would hate me.

Just one in the net bag at the bottom sometimes…

That's how you get lime

Mine have been lasting super long lately!

I started giving them a 10 minite soak in vinegar water, drying them, then storing them in a gallon ziplock with paper towels in it in the fridge

u/Datkif 18h ago

This is why I often buy groceries that spoil the day I intend on using thek

I'm looking into diy freezer meals, which will either save me a ton of money, or cost me a fortune in 'ehhh I'll just dash dinner tonight'

Pray 4 me

Dear Flying Spaghetti Monster, may thy noodley appendages caress this poor, hyperfixated soul. Bless them that their dopamine may last til novelty becomes habit, amen.

Oh my god is this another ADHD thing? I don’t have ADHD in terms of the DSM 5 diagnostic criteria but I’m constantly seeing little traits and things online from people with ADHD that are things I do, like buying stuff that then goes bad in the fridge. Apparently also writing with a more fist type grip, preferring to work in the dark etc. I can’t remember some of the others but lots of little things like that. It’s interesting but I know I couldn’t get diagnosed as I had no symptoms in early childhood.

Honestly, you'd be surprised what symptoms you might have had that people missed, especially if you're a woman. A LOT of women and girls do not meet the DSM criteria because it was modeled after rich white boys. Literally, for a long time, one of the criteria was 'affluent' because that's 'the only place' there seeing it 🙄.

I stopped buying meat. Too expensive to forget in the fridge and throw away.

You all (and my wife) have it manifest by buying things and letting them sit until they rot. I have it manifest by having to go to the grocery store every day because I'm incapable of planning ahead.

Everyone on reddit does and they must shout about it and tell us all about it

2

u/UnwantedTwiggy 18h ago

I always have like 2-3 in a bag that turn into fossilized rocks on my counter

1

u/daddypez 8h ago

Put them in a container covered in water. They keep for a couple months

I have eaten 150 lemons like people eat oranges in my life.

20

u/discordianofslack 19h ago

When I was a kid a lemon with a dash of sugar was the perfect summer thing. Even better if you freeze it.

2

u/Krazykittielady 1h ago

I used to get lemon juice slushies...

Worried about scurvy?

22

u/Generally_Kenobi-1 18h ago

No, they eat 150 lemons, why would they be worried about scurvy?

3

u/OffToNeverNeverPants 16h ago

We ARRRRRRR!!! 🏴‍☠️

1

u/Prestigious-Fill-365 6h ago

I see what you did there

1

u/bliip666 10h ago

Not anymore, they don't

3

u/couchpro34 19h ago

My best friend's younger sister used to eat lemons like that too. She LOVED lemons. Genuinely loved them, as it sounds like you do as well. Do you like spicy food? Any other odd food/flavors you like??

1

u/Hailstorm303 18h ago

I don’t do it as often, but I used to eat lemons like one might eat a grapefruit, with salt on top. Yum.

1

u/GarageVast4128 9h ago

Love spicy food and can take it extremely spicy. I like eating a peanut butter sandwich with a bowl of really spicy chili.

2

u/Race-a-roni 18h ago

I used to take lemon wedges to school as a snack when I was a kid. People thought that was kinda weird though.

2

u/Various-Salt-7738 18h ago

I ate one lemon like an orange to challenge myself once

I really do like lemon and sour flavors but my fucking tooth enamel was screaming for like 3 days after that lemon

2

u/azzgrash13 16h ago

Dad never would allow us to do this. He used to and was told by a dentist that it is a huge no-no. Citric acid is so strong and in such high amounts it ruins enamel. He has a ton of dental issues too. I’ll take his word for it.

1

u/lnc_5103 18h ago

Same! A little salt and good to go or with ice when it's really hot.

1

u/gruuvey 18h ago

I love lemon on shaved ice with salt. My mom said they used to serve them at the local drugstore back in the day and they were called Lemon Freezes.

Freezing the juice is probably the best suggestion.

1

u/s3thst3v3ns0n 18h ago

Are you the owner of the Shelbyville impound lot?

1

u/AmarilloArmadillos 9h ago

Same. I'd be friends with ops mom.

15

u/weebitofaban 18h ago

Weak. Lemonade is one of the best drinks on the planet.

7

u/Kingofcheeses 18h ago

You should cook more Greek food

2

u/Good-Bodybuilder-985 17h ago

I know. I'm not Greek but I love a Mediterranean diet and our house goes through at least 10 lemons a week! 150 seemed like a lot but not an impossible amount of lemons at once by any means.

0

u/StagedC0mbustion 16h ago

Mediterranean*

0

u/Kingofcheeses 16h ago

Ok? I only know Greek

-1

u/StagedC0mbustion 16h ago

Lmao, it’s the same thing. The Greeks don’t own the Mediterranean diet 😂

1

u/Kingofcheeses 16h ago

I'm not talking about the "Mediterranean diet", I'm talking about uniquely Greek cuisine.

0

u/StagedC0mbustion 9h ago

They’re the same things

0

u/Kingofcheeses 3h ago edited 3h ago

They are not. They share many similarities but each region has its own unique dishes. I don't know why you are arguing about this when I'm betting you have never even lived there. You're not going to find pork gyros in Syrian cuisine and you won't find rosewater and pistachio in traditional Greek baklava.

You really think Italian and Lebanese food is the same? They both fall under Mediterranean cuisine

0

u/StagedC0mbustion 2h ago

No I never said that. I just said there’s nothing special about Greek cuisine that uses lemon more than any other Mediterranean cuisine, so why be so restrictive in your recommendation?

3

u/oxidized_banana_peel 19h ago

I've made preserved lemons before. Probably about 20 lemons for a 1 qt jar, idk. I've never counted.

2

u/benchley 16h ago

You’re missing out, counting is fun.

1

u/oxidized_banana_peel 19h ago

Killer ingredient though

3

u/StagedC0mbustion 16h ago

I’m sorry for your loss

2

u/zestycunt 19h ago

Rookie numbers

2

u/DutchRudderShotgun 18h ago

Have you tried to branch out with their uses?

2

u/Soggy-Moment3856 14h ago

Do you cook and/or bake?

1

u/morbidpigeon 19h ago

I haven’t used fifty. And I love lemons.

1

u/zestycunt 19h ago

My gf is Latina, we would crush these in a year

1

u/wintery_owl 18h ago

I'm latina so I haven't used 150 lemons in my life. Limes on the other hand... maybe 10 times that number.

2

u/Prestigious-Fill-365 18h ago

Tequila! (I know you use them for much more than that)

1

u/wintery_owl 18h ago

Tequila is definitely one of the main uses though, you're right on the money, hahaha

1

u/False-Ad2170 18h ago

Hahaha we go though roughly 300 a year. But we are homesteading so it's all preserved ect

1

u/sashby138 18h ago

I’ve not use a single lemon ever in my life.

1

u/Wild-Video-5317 17h ago

If you juice them, they go pretty fast.

1

u/OptimistIndya 17h ago

Check you vit c levels

1

u/Rand_alThor4747 16h ago

My lemon hasn't produced that much yet. Give it time and I will have 150 lemons in a single harvest. Now my orange tree on the other hand, at least 150 oranges in a single harvest. I couldn't eat that many before they go off.

1

u/DothrakAndRoll 14h ago

I make a lot of cocktails and I’ve never used that many lemons.

1

u/Caoa14396 7h ago

I can tell by this that your cooking sucks

1

u/Prestigious-Fill-365 6h ago

Thats your super power

1

u/PedanticDilettante 3h ago

Then you have never truly lived.

u/onwisconsin1 51m ago

I think I have. I've drank a lot of lemonade.
