wordle creators could also just not use words that have 15 different options with a given 4 letter combo.

Honestly, it's fun to see sometimes. Like how their crossword sometimes has a really obscure word or phrase, but it's necessary because it makes the crossword look cool, or something, like this:

Wordle hardmode being busted is bad but crosswords are the best

But crosswords are massively better because you can deal with that difficulty with skill or knowledge, but this Wordle ambiguity is just pure luck

It's just an inherent flaw that regular Wordle is too easy and hard mode is a pretty broken game

That’s true but it’s a self-imposed restriction. Hardmode players have to accept it’s an auto-loss on those days. No streak lasts forever.

I checked and it's 8. Still, that's too many. You could guess "-ound" on your first attempt and there would be no way to tell your proximity to the puzzle answer. That's actually kind of bad, they should eliminate "-ound" words in the same way they don't do plurals. Too much ambiguity, makes it cheap.

They're not playing it very well imo. When this happens to me and I know there are too many possible answers to guess them all I guess any word with 3 of those letters in it just to clear more of them in one go.

In hard mode you have to use the letters you got correct. After the second round he was locked into the guessing game

Because for some people it's not enough of a challenge on normal mode.

This isn't what it's like every day. Further, the added challenge would be to not fall into the _ound / _lows etc sort of traps.

The bonus is it makes the game more fresh imo, as it makes it more difficult to rely on the same few OP words. You should try it a couple times, especially if youve been playing a while.

My boyfriend likes to start with AUDIO every time because it's "most efficient" but I just think that's boring. I choose a word from the top of my head or ask my kids for a five-letter word to add more excitement.
