AVERAGE RAGE Brainless behavior.

Listen. I'm against the gatekeep culture, but let's talk here.

Ladies and gentlemans, kids, boomers, please, listen. Of course, the people who needs to read this, will not be here to read but...

If you are new to the game, you still crafting gear, upgrading gear, just reach the HR100...

DO. NOT. ENTER. 10 STARS QUESTS.

BROOOOOOOOOOO MY BROTHER IN CHRIST, PLEASEEEEEEEEE

USE THE COMMON SENSE. GO DO YOUR NEW PLAYER THINGS MY MAN, UPGRADE YOUR FKING GEAR, PUT SOME QOL OF YOUR FKING CTRL+C, CLTR+V META BUILD OR AT LEAST GO READ WHAT YOUR SKILLS DO.

TRY TO HEAL YOURSELF SINCE YOUR GEAR WITH LESS THAN 400 DEFENSE WILL BE SMASHED BY THE 10* DRAGON. CAN YOU USE YOUR BRAIN PLEASE?

Today we have Palico, solo, support hunter. HOW can you think your actual gear can handle this shit?
The game is pretty easy along the story, I know but don't underrate the endgame quest.

You are spending time of lime from other people, who sometimes can't play a whole day, who did the job before join there, you know?

Because sometimes is not only you, it's you and one more, even two more, without gear to tank hits, to do enough damage, so you are making people heal you every 5 seconds. EVEN MORE BECAUSE YOU NOT HEAL YOURSELF, AS ALWAYS, IDK CAPCOM DO NOT PUT SOMETHING TO INCENTIVE THIS PEOPLE TO HEAL, TO USE A FKING SEED OR WHATEVER.

Stop. Expecting. People. To. Carry. You.
GO LEARN HOW TO PLAY THIS FKING GAME
is not that hard, btw.

I CAN'T BRO, I CAN'T DO IT ANYMORE IN SOS.
Absolutely CRAZY how people ignore every mechanic in the game and think will have success at the endgame. Insane.

Your time isn't valuable than other people. Respect this and remember about this. Ever.

Randoms can be like this in every conceivable game man, just find someone you can trust to play with before going in

Absolutely, I agree. Unfortunately, I have only one friend who play Wilds but I'm making new friends in some stream/discord communities.

IDK CAPCOM DO NOT PUT SOMETHING TO INCENTIVE THIS PEOPLE TO HEAL, TO USE A FKING SEED OR WHATEVER.

It's called stop healing them and let them keep dying til learn on their own.

Yeah, as long as people keep enabling their shitty behaviour they're gonna keep doing it.

You both are ABSOLUTELY right. I need to be more egoist in this moments. People really needs to cart a lot until they figure out they're sinking the quests.

Gatekeeping is important because its purpose is to prevent people who want to destroy your community/hobby out. People who are genuinely interested are always welcome. People who want to join just because it's popular and don't actually care, or worse people who want to join it to change it to suit them (and not fans) are the ones to keep away

That's a good perspective to see the situation, ngl.

This is entirely down to Capcom having 8, 9 and 10 star quests for the same monster. People can have been hunting AT Rey Dau and Dun since HR 50 and the only way they can find out that no actually this is a special AT rey dau that does extra damage beyond just being arch tempered is by getting kicked in the face by it. Their gear can handle 8*, just not 10* and there's no real in game knowledge to demonstrate that problem to them.

This is made worse by them being grouped into the same searches, which is pure extra strength fuckery.

Either run your 10* with manual accept, or just assume it's gonna happen.

That's true. Sometimes SOS in general can be a very bad system for different reasons.

They are just trying to leech. Why learn the hunt if someone else can do it for you. If they cause the hunt to fail sorry but not really as they don't give a damn about wasting other people's time and can just jump right into the next. If they are complained about then well those must be some sour old timers trying to bully fresh blood.

There should be a requirement that 10 star/Harzard PriMal or Amatsu/Alatreon and Fatalis that you only unlock MP by clearing solo once or lift the MR requirement to 300.

I remember the one time i was in a new character and learning LS and HH at the same time. I was planning my next armor set so i entered hunts for AT Rey Day to get the gloves for Evade Extender.

And everytime, i got one shot, realizing when at 2/3 carts, that i entered a 10* hunt by mistake.

Further context, im a CB main and loved Gog armor, i was basically always prone to taking hits, and at the time when i made that 2nd character, i was basically maining Gunlance primarily at the time too so thats 2 shield weapons now, and i had trouble with LS timing and still mixing my fingers for how to flow with HH, so i was legit still learning the weapons as i go from taking a break from GL.

I think i died twice from one shots before realizing this error of mine and someone else would die later on and an insurance mustve popped earlier before i joined in too, i was basically now playing corner horn and playing full support with powders and dusts of life but even thst wasn't enough.

To those that were with me back then, i am so sorry. I thought i legit forgot at that time about 10* versions of the AT apexes and jusut joinend any room because i thought it would just be 7 or 8*

Yeah hahaha, nope. Turns out it wasnt.

Hunters should be wearing gear that is fully upgraded for the 8/9 ATs. For 10*s, transcended and fully upgraded.

Healing can only do so much. I don’t particularly want to try heal an entire party of the level 1 brigade, but it’s also pretty much impossible (maybe with the Sonic Barrier Hunting Horn but that’s above my skill level).

I am getting to the point where I don’t want to heal at all. The paradox is that the best players will make sure everybody in their party is fully healed. I joined a Gog SOS flare with clearly top hunters, based on their HR and skill. Hunt took sub-16, all the mutated armaments were taken off it, the carts were 0 and the moment anybody got hit, someone would heal them if they weren’t able to heal themselves straight away.

So it’s like a rock and a hard place. Not healing the party at all will teach these idiots that they need to heal themselves, but then they won’t realise it’s also important to be the ones healing others. Especially those peeps with long-ass sheathing animations, like CB or HBG.

Is this why there’s abundance of “Manual Accept” crowd?

2

u/thefirstdjbron3 Switch Axe 11d ago

From what I’ve heard it’s because of content creators telling people to set their quests to manual accept instead of just turning off automatic SOS flares when they want to hunt solo

2

u/trytouchgrass 11d ago

Tbh, makes sense. Nowadays SOS is just insalubrious.

0

u/Dirty_Cleric 11d ago

No, that is just CAPCOM idiocity. When developer puts a toxic mechanic, there will be people abusing it.

2

u/Rowan_As_Roxii 11d ago

It’s been there since forever, but back then I haven’t seen anyone use it lol. Now every quest i try to join its manual. And people either dont know how to accept or just dont wanna which is frustrating. Why are you even sosing atp?

1

u/Dirty_Cleric 11d ago

It wasn't the case before Wilds. Wilds implemented it. It is a stupid mechanic, when you fire SOS you don't get to choose who can join. I just ignore manual SOS's entirely as I believe everyone also should.

2

u/Rowan_As_Roxii 11d ago

World had it but rarely anyone used it.

0

u/Cyrrion 11d ago

World had Manual Accept too.

The only reason Wilds keeps showing up with it because it's the most simplistic way to play multiplayer with a few friends while having Support Hunters fill in the last gaps. People will generally do Manual SOS accept rather than form Link Parties.

u/Dirty_Cleric 11d ago edited 10d ago

World has Manual Accept to Join Quests regularly. As far as I know, the moment you fire SoS that option becomes obselete. I will double check later on to be sure.

Edit: No you still need to be accepted, it doesn't become obselete.

1

u/Rowan_As_Roxii 11d ago

You still had to wait to be accepted.

1

u/Dirty_Cleric 10d ago

Yes you are right, I just tested.

I don't play online in MH games, but I always thought people who request SOS flares actually needed help because they couldn't do it themselves. That's why I'm okay if someone carts three times.

2

u/trytouchgrass 10d ago

I agree with that, but does exist context. 10* quests it's absolutely end game, the hardest fights in the game and even people who is doing AT Arkveld for his gear, for example, need to know the difficulty of trhe content. He hits hard, he's fast, he has a lot of HP. You can't, or at least, you shouldn't join this type of quest if you have not upgraded/"low quality" gear. If you trying this, you are probably skipping something and that's BAD. Really bad for the others playing. The quest is hard enough to do, having this kind of people to carry just sucks. I'm sorry, but sucks A LOT, btw.

I find it both hilarious and incredibly aggravating when I answer a 10* Rompopolo quest and I'm always the last one standing. Do I run a meta charge blade build, yes (or as close as possible because decoration rng hates me). And yes I do get caught out by the odd AT or Omega combo. But I do share this experience where I'll enter a hunt and know it's gonna end with multiple carts quickly. It boggles my mind that not only are some hunters not prepared for the 10* AT monster, people can't even handle starter Gog, I've seen people triple cart to Steve, lagi, and even mizutsune. It's like all the title update monsters were a difficulty spike that some players weren't ready for

Lock people into LR village only and brutalize them into learning the mechanics - kinda like FU did - but with heavy tutorials like literally locking them out of actions until they drink a potion after getting hit the first couple of times, or being softlocked until they craft a set/upgrade their gear and this will eventually end.

With people nowadays, we have to assume they're stupid and have almost no reading and interpreting capability, if any at all. The alternative to that is just buffing the NPC hunters, turning the game effectively into a party creation RPG and killing multiplayer altogether.

when i do hope someone with a brain over there is studying what happens when a game that doesnt push you in any way whatsoever suddenly turns into damage hell when you get to the endgame a few hours later, since you end up with a playerbase that doesnt know what the fuck theyre doing. hardly their fault, they didnt have to play the video game until now!

I'm in favor of having a better progression/difficulty ramp up, but it's very in line with the "evolution" MH games have experiencing for a long time. I'd say you would have to go back as far as FU or Tri to find a game that is not like that, actually.

I also think that some things like "counters" of all sorts have become so "free" that people never learned how to use them properly, in part because the game never strictly required this level of precision before. This is only a half-truth, however, because clear times still exist and are an objective measurement of skill regardless of what Reddit might say. The fact is no one uses this metric anymore in the community (clear times have become synonymous to "speedrunning", which was not the case in the past), though. This means the first time the game require some level of precision and skill beyond just spamming the strongest move of the weapon and hoping for the best it looks like a difficulty spike.

Like I said, this would be solved by a better difficulty ramp-up, and maybe a score system that has actual benefits before the endgame grind fest and evaluates things like clear times, but also "zero carts", "only get hit n times" and so on, with benefits like you only get certain decorations/charms with an S clear etc. If they don't want you to fail at all until endgame, they should have a way to tell you're not doing so well beyond clear times (because people decided to ignore that).
