Advice Needed how to function while grieving?

my mom has always been my rock and today the 4th day after she passed. im currently back at our old apartment. sometimes i cried, sometimes i don’t. i would talk out loud as if i were talking to her. but, it is not the same. i have been scrolling on phone and everything else is just a blur. i lost track of time. i wish to be a functioning adult so that my mom would not worry. so any advice will be a huge help to me. (my apologies for my bad English)

it’s only been 4 days, give yourself more time. I was 21 when my mom passed in August last year, so a month before uni started and I genuinely couldn’t study, retain new information or concentrate on anything until January. I passed my exams in February, but in the meantime I was focused on surviving, adapting to the new lifestyle, learning some chores…

You won’t function for a bit, that’s okay. My mom died a year and a half ago (Feb 2025). It’s just been in the last couple months I’ve finally felt alive again. Don’t try and rush the process, work on yourself and your grief. In due time, you will be better again

Grieving never ends - 31 years for me. In my forties now and I can be fine one moment and hear a song that reminds me of my mother and BANG I'm hysterically crying.
