Indeed. On my first (new to me 10 year old) bike, I didn’t realize that the center of the tire had a tread pattern.

It wasn’t until looking up the exact tire that I realized the center of the tire was significantly worn..

OP is right there. I’m certainly certain that squiggly line resembling a tread line is suppose to be wayyyy deeper.

You can't replace your time, son. All we have on earth is the time that's given to us.

Why does nobody know what wear indicators are or how to read them?

They know. At this point it's either rage bait or a need for attention. These tire posts should be banned.

Your time is up to you. I would replace that tire immediately though.

Right as soon as you start asking yourself if it’s time to replace them.

After 10 years or when it reaches the wear indicator. Edit: or obviously when damaged beyond repair

You should have changed it already. So, do it immediately. If the front is the same age I would replace it as well.

I’m gonna have to agree and say you’re way too late in changing that. Get at it, son.

You're squared off. If there's no rain You're good for a bit. But should get new tires soon

Maybe another month? It should be replaced but it's not in critical state.

These posts absolutely ruin the sub.

If you feel like you have to ask the entire Internet, just change the fucking tire.

What bike is it? If it's a 15 hp 125cc, it might be okay for a little while longer.

The barely visible tread bar you can see in the middle of the picture is a wear indicator. When the tread is down to that level, you really need to change the tire, so doing it as soon as possible would be the safest option. Try to avoid riding in the rain entirely - your rear will slip
