Immersion Radio... valid targets

While building a Naya Aura deck, with a secret commander of [[Three Dog, Galaxy News DJ]] I was reading his rulings and stumbled upon a question regarding [[Leyline Immersion]].

Leyline Immersion says-

-Enchant Legendary Creature

Three Dog rules says-

-If one of the Aura tokens being created couldn't legally be attached to the appropriate attacking creature (because of an ability like protection from enchantments), that Aura token won't be created.

And also-

-Since Three Dog's reflexive triggered ability doesn't target, Aura tokens created by that ability will be attached to attacking creatures you control with shroud.

Will any fodder tokens I have (saprolings, soldiers, Plants etc.) Get the Leyline Immersion Aura? Does this fail to create copies for the nonlegendary targets, or does it create the Aura for all targets, but fall off the non-legendary when we check state based actions?

A token that's a copy of Leyline Immersion won't be created if it would enter attached to a nonlegendary creature. See also: https://www.reddit.com/r/mtgrules/comments/1b2kket/three_dog_galaxy_news_dj_and_bestow_auras/

303.4i If an effect attempts to put an Aura onto the battlefield attached to either an object or player it can’t legally enchant or an object or player that is undefined, the Aura remains in its current zone, unless that zone is the stack. In that case, the Aura is put into its owner’s graveyard instead of entering the battlefield. If the Aura is a token, it isn’t created.

Important note:

targets

Nothing is being targeted here, as evidenced by the ruling that states that the ability does not target:

-Since Three Dog's reflexive triggered ability doesn't target, Aura tokens created by that ability will be attached to attacking creatures you control with shroud.

The auras aren't created. Leyline Immersion can only be attached to legendary creatures

So its not one of those weird bypass rules, and purely because of the leyline target line correct?

Targeting doesn't matter, Three Dog doesn't target and neither do the aura tokens. Leyline can only attach to legendary creatures.

Ok but this is why I'm asking because Targeting does matter.... say I have [[Siona, Captain of the Pyleas]], [[Myrel, Shield of Argive]], [[Eidolon of Blossoms]] and 5 human soldier tokens. When I attack with Myrel and the 5 soldier tokens, Myrel creates 7 artifact soldiers (not attacking) Three Dog sacrifices Leyline Immersion which sees 6 attacking creatures...

Since Three Dog's ability doesnt target, it should create 6 token copies, they should apply to the 5 soldiers and Myrel, that is 6 enchantments entering to draw 6 cards, and 6 auras attaching to make 6 more Human Soldiers. Then the enchant legendary should fall off the tokens...

Or the Enchant Legendary Creature "targeting" matters more and proceeds to make the 5 attacking soldier tokens invalid targets. You create 1 Human Soldier for enchanting Myrel, draw 1 card for Blossoms.

Either way here you cant say "Targeting doesnt matter " because it does in defining whether tokens are valid targets, or if we bypass Targeting because they are attacking creatures.

Targeting does not matter, because it is not targeting. Auras entering the battlefield do not target, and be attached to things that can't be targeted.

303.4f If an Aura is entering the battlefield under a player’s control by any means other than by resolving as an Aura spell, and the effect putting it onto the battlefield doesn’t specify the object or player the Aura will enchant, that player chooses what it will enchant as the Aura enters the battlefield. The player must choose a legal object or player according to the Aura’s enchant ability and any other applicable effects.

The only time Auras target is when cast as spells.

303.4a An Aura spell requires a target, which is defined by its enchant ability.

What they can't attach to is something not defined by "Enchant X".

702.5a Enchant is a static ability, written “Enchant [object or player].” The enchant ability restricts what an Aura spell can target and what an Aura can enchant.

"Enchant Legendary Creature" limits what it can be attached to. Since they can't be attached to nonlegendary permanents, the extra tokens are simply not created.

Targeting doesn't matter. It can't be attached. Attachment isn't targeting.

Only aura spells have targets. Aura permanents are not targeting the things they are attached to. Aura tokens cannot be created attached to permanents they cannot legally be attached to

It's not cryptic! "Target" has a very specific meaning in the rules of MTG and nothing in either scenario is targeting.

The auras aren't created.
