I built Kahani - Bedtime story app that let your child hear bedtime stories in your grandparents/parents voice. Checkout here - https://listenkahani.com/

LumoRead. takes a book and rewrites it at whatever reading level you pick, in 9 languages, with audio.

built it because my two kids are three grades apart and bedtime was always one of them bored and the other one lost. the heritage language part is what i actually care about though. my older one reads english way ahead of his chinese, and basically every chinese book at his chinese level is written for four year olds, so he decided chinese was babyish. that gap is the whole reason this exists.

public domain classics for now. ios, free to try: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6789734471

it's early, so if you try it tell me what's broken.

When you select 简体中文, the app is in 简体,but the books are 繁体. Also, if you switch to English for the app language and then switch to another language and back, you are stuck with English as your main “reading language” under the “reading level” section, and therefore unable to remove it.

Thank you for this insightful information. Let me check again and see what happens and I will get back to you after I fixed it. Thank you so much.

Dear customer, thank you — both were real bugs. 简体 books now follow the app language (and english can now be removed from your reading languages). the fix is rolling out over-the-air today — close and reopen the app twice and you should have it. if anything else feels off, pls let me know 🙏
