OMG what if we bred the long tailed weasel with the short tailed weasel to create the most medium tailed weasel the world had ever seen??

They're actually not too closely related. Longtails are in the same exclusively New World genus as mink. Shorttails are in Mustela with least weasels, ferrets, European mink, etc.

Lmao. Also why are they all so freaking adorable? They have to be one of the cuter families of animals on the planet. Look at their faces!

They are adorable unless you are in their prey range. Then they are horrible murder monsters who want to eat you and your whole family.

I think that’s what I like best about them, it’s part of their charm! And I know they’re not pets. That’s why I rely on this sub for pics of their faces.
Just went down a rabbit hole on YouTube about the stoat vs the weasel!
