FULL COMMUNISM POSTING ACHIEVED!

Glorious Citizens of the People's Repblic of /r/mwo, rejoice!

The Free Market has failed, and we have achieved Full Communism! This means new rules!

All former rules remain in place, but to remind you:

Site-wide rules still apply, see here for more: https://www.reddit.com/help/contentpolicy/

In particular: No doxxing each other, you shitlords. Don't even try it. We don't care if you are wrong.

The rule about making a mod laugh in your report and getting the reported poster a one day ban is cool and good.

Account selling is still fine here. On your head be it if PGI catch you. Caveat Emptor.

Finally, due to excessive toxicity from some unfunny bads over the last few days, we are adding rules similar to the card game which sounds like it is derived from Chairman Mao's name, but isn't (it's a happy coincidence though).

IE: "this is the only rule that I can tell you".

Happy posting, Citizens!

Advertise Your MWO Units/Community - ClanFinder.GG

Hey MechWarrior Pilots!

I run https://clanfinder.gg/ where you can advertise your MechWarrior units for free.
Our goal at ClanFinder.gg is to make it easier to advertise your community and for potential members to find communities, no matter what game they play.

We previously teamed up with r/GTAOnline, so crews and potential members had one centralized place to go. While I don't personally play GTA, I do play MWO and MechWarrior 5, so I took the liberty of adding those titles to the site as well.

It costs nothing to create your community page and start advertising on the site.
If you do want to stand out amongst the crowd their are ways to boost your community page, where I am happy to report we donate 30% of all revenue to Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, All Hands and Hearts and American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Lastly, we are very active on the site, so if there are older versions of MechWarrior that your group plays or any other title for that matter that you'd like to see an option for, we can easily add them for you.

New player here, how about brawl ?

Coming here after playing some mechwarriors and Battletech 2018, I really like brawling style mech, so I decided to hop with an Atlas AS7-D, MRM40, MP laser and a AC20. However, I really struggle to initiate a push without getting hammered by LRM, although I maxed the armor up front. And when I do brawl, first I find I lack damage ( possible a skill and aim issue ) but it's very hard to hard with the splash of other fire. Any quick guide or tips ? :D

True stats of Quirks

Is there a website I can go to that ACTUALLY tells you what each quirk does? It feels like there's a lot of quirks that are hard to tell what they really do.

For example LRM quirks also affecting ATMs on clan mechs.

Does the "AC cooldown" quirk on Urbie R60 affect any weapon with AC in its name, or just the non UAC, Non Rotary, Non LBX AC cannons?

Does the Firestarter with IS Gauss cooldown also affect S.B Gauss? It doesn't appear to affect Light Gauss when I do the math.

Kicked back to mechbay?

Whenever I try to drop to Caustic Valley it kicks me back to the mech bay after a few seconds of trying to load. Trying to rejoin the match gives the same result, even after restarting the game. This has only been recently, guessing an update glitched. Is there a way to manually force a map update?

Did heat just go out the window?

I am admittedly a returning player after many years and I feel like heat has just gone out the window, lasers are relatively super slow to fill up heat where as srms or ppcs are insane to manage regardless of heat modifier. Did something change or is it just me?

For reference, to c-er large lasers fired simultaneously do maybe 2% heat where one csrm-6 is doing 5% alone. How does this balance? Especially with how slow heat is dissipating

Is this battlemaster any good?

Just started MWO yesterday, roughly 200 hours between MW5 mercs and clans so I figured I would give this game as shot. I love the battlemaster it might be my favorite mech so when I saw it was much cheaper than other mechs I had to get it.

My favorite weird mech

I really enjoy the Champion for some reason, maybe because I'm newer to the game or in tier 3 but it just always performed well with the loadouts I give it. This one gave me my current damage pr at 1760, just kept my finger on the LBX the entire match and hit everything. Just want to see some reviews on it at this point I guess, thank you in advance.

The Railgun is a surprisingly solid weapon.

I got the BSK-Void Killer from the event specifically for the Railgun. Despite being excited to use it I also kinda expected it to be perhaps a little gimmicky or at least not the terror you'd imagine. But when I temper my excitement and stick to the back line this thing is nasty. I can harass at range with my lasers and then when someone with especially a damaged CT pops out I can send em to hell. Plus it's really fun to just pop some poor flanker and chargimg brawler in the chest and ruin their big moment. Though I feel terrible whenever I nanage to clip someone in the back as they're ckearly starting to feel safe.

super long range standoff the latest fad?

feels like more and more often one team will just stay as far away as possible and just pick apart the other with some very specific long range builds and it hardly feels like a match, whether you win or lose. It's just boring. has anyone else noticed this getting more common or am I just unlucky/confirmation biased?

edit to clarify: I know that there will always be long range mechs in every match, the ratio just seem to have shifted the last few weeks or so.

edit 2: I don't need to get mansplained how the game works or how to play. I'm only asking if anyone else feels the amount of long range mechs, per match, has increased recently.
