Discussion ๐Ÿ’ฌ What do Burmese people think about India and Indians? ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฒ

Hi everyone! Iโ€™m Indian and Iโ€™ve always been curious about how people in Myanmar see India and Indians.

What comes to mind when you think of India โ€” our culture, food, people, history, etc.? Have you ever visited India, or would you like to? And if you have visited, what was your experience like?

Just genuinely curious to hear your perspective โ€” positive, negative, or anything in between. ๐Ÿ™‚

Analysis of the New Managing Director Appointment for Myanmar Railways

Direct Overview: The military government's State Administration Council (SAC) has appointed U Htin Aung Kyaw as the new Managing Director of Myanmar Railways under the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

Strategic Control: This appointment reflects the regime's ongoing efforts to place loyal personnel in key administrative positions to maintain direct control over vital state infrastructure and government machinery.

Operational Challenges: Taking charge of a major national transport network amidst ongoing political instability, security constraints, and economic pressures presents massive administrative and logistical hurdles.

Systemic Impact: With railway operations heavily impacted by fuel shortages, infrastructure damage, and safety concerns, the new leadership faces immense difficulties in restoring reliable passenger and freight services.

Is the GED actually as hard as people online say?

Iโ€™m about to start preparing, but after reading all the reviews, Iโ€™m kinda overwhelmed and questioning whether I should even continue. For those whoโ€™ve taken it, how hard was it really, and how did you guys study and get through it? :))

Discussion ๐Ÿ’ฌ Lost Works of Friederich Lustig

Thumbnail en.wikipedia.org

Greetings! I've been after some of Friederich Lustig's works for a while.

Lustig was an Estonian monk who lived in Myanmar and published translations of Burmese poetry. I'd like to very much to read them since I really love Burmese poetry and translations are rare.

His Wikipedia page lists his works as follows:

"Burmese Classical Poems (1967, some say 1966), A Glimpse of Contemporary Burmese Poetry (1968), Burmese Poems through the Ages (1969), and the collection of his own poems, Fluttering Leaves: a collection of 60 poems (1970)."

While "Burmese Classical Poems" can be found easily through the internet archive, his other poetry translations are nowhere to be found.

Maybe someone with knowledge of Burmese could locate them in a way I couldn't?

Both his translations and the original poems are very beauiful, and it would be a pity for them to be lost.
