Repost due to misclicking wrong flair... ☠️

Hey ya'll - there's a new Necron book either in people's hands, or on the way there. This is just a friendly reminder about spoilers. Obviously, no one likes to have a story spoiled, and we all have different levels of access to the novels as well as varying amounts of free time to read them in.
Policy around spoilers will be fairly standard - keep them out of thread titles. Threads discussing spoilers must maintain this rule, and must contain a warning somewhere in the title to prevent accidental clicks. Individual posts in threads that are not explicitly marked as spoiler threads should make use of the spoiler text feature - threads that are marked in the title as spoilers are fair game to discuss freely.
This policy will remain in place for the next SIX MONTHS, at which point we will return to a more case-by-case evaluation. There will be a ZERO TOLERANCE policy in place, with a six month subreddit ban for violations, under our rule about treating other redditors with respect.

I'm building my first 2000 point necron army, currently purchased around 1500 points including -
20 x necron warriors
1 x Orikhan (attatched)
6 x canoptek scarabs
3 x skorpekh warriors
1 x skorpekh Lord (attached)
3 x heavy destroyers
1 x lokhust lord (attatched)
1 x reanimator
1 x void dragon ctan
1 x night Lord ctan
I was planning on going awakened dynasty and filling up my skorpekh warriors to six and going for a squad of six wraiths with a technomancer, but I see a lot of more competetive list tend to split their units up/prioritize more smaller units over fewer stacked units. I assumed that because of the way reanimation protocols work fewer taller units would be more effective but I'm curious as to what others think.
Sorry if people have already talked about this and I just missed it XD

Hello fellow Phaerons of the other dynastys!
My first post in this supreddit and I am thankful for all the other posts of this model here because I really needed some inspiration in how to paint this model with all the details.
Now after taking so long to paint it I need to find time to play it :D
Also excuse me for the orange overdose.

I finally finished Illuminor Szeras and wanted to share the pictures, since its one of my fav. models.
Its just that the little green beam thingy on the staff broke off and the humans eyes could be better, but fine for someone getting turned into a ball i guess.
One last thung: the entire model looks darker irl, its just my camera really picking up that light.

I kinda like how this image became so popular online for necron content for YouTube and other social media stuff. Artist was Nick Kay and I own the image (I commissioned it). Nice to see how popular it got.
My friend I play 40k with all the time is a super ultramarines fan so I got this made to tease him. Matches my old necron army paint job and has me kicking his smurfs butts. Was fun. Makes me nostalgic for the days when I was single and could afford to blow money on crap like that heh.

Sold my second army and bought some more Necrons for my little brother, with the caveat that I would get to build and paint them. Finished Ammentar the other day, really enjoyable and a nice break from my regular tsons painting.

I've just started the hobby and picked up some of the delightful Necron to paint and managed to finish these two boys as my first set. Any particular tips that might help me? I tried to use contrast a little to darken the silver but it felt a bit like rusting them rather than adding detail. Anything that seems obvious they are missing would be useful too.
I'd appreciate any pointers or next steps, I have quite a lot set to paint now!I'm very set on building these guys into an army or a nice diorama, Imotekh is next but I am a little trepidatious at getting such a striking fellow in the wrong light. Thank you in advance!

It's my first time painting anything really and I'm not sure what next steps to take to improve (other than practice more). Any tips on glowing effects or how to make the wash I put on any better?

Well, it’s a little cleaner at least this time? I guess I’ll post him on pink warhammer, I need to do some more shading and definition in the future, he’s a little too glossy but undefined.
