Discussion Care Facility?
Hey there! I need help finding a care facility for someone with mental and physical disabilities. I'd prefer if it's in New York ☺️
I am currently undiagnosed but it's very obvious I have both physical and mental chronic illnesses/disabilities. I'm not sure what they could be since my symptoms match so many different things and I'm not gonna self diagnose (there's nothing wrong with **educated** self diagnosis, I just literally have no clue what I could have)
I'm looking for somewhere I could live at and receive help with daily things until I'm ready to move out and live on my own or hire a Caretaker to come by and assist as needed
I struggle greatly in everyday life both mentally and physically. I do work 2 jobs and have graduated from high school. But my overall health is progressively declining and it's been getting harder and harder to keep up since I have no support system in any sense... My mental headspace is young enough that almost everyday I cry, have a meltdown, and sometimes even end up having a tantrum (only alone in my room though, I would never let anyone see that)
I don't mean to sound rude when I say this, but I'd prefer to not have advice in the comments. I really just need recommendations for care facilities in New York. I do apologize if that's rude, but it honestly really upsets me when people compare their lives to mine or just state their opinion rather than actually help me. I've deleted Reddit twice now because people ended up just coming after me for the littlest things...
(If this post is not allowed here please let me know where I can share it to get help)

You sound like both of the kids we care for, to be honest. One could not hold a job for more than 2 weeks at a time and was fired for having a mental health crisis. The other was living at home with her parents, so she claimed she was making up all her disabilities and was on the edge of being fired for her job as a para-educator. The girls are both on the level 2 autism spectrum. One is on the high side with physical medical issues going on, so she needs care and assistance, and the other is on the lower end of the spectrum, where she needs a lot of support.
What you're describing is physical and mental burnout. Our rule for the kids when they moved in was that they had to #1 focus on mental health and get into a therapy program. The 2nd was that we work together as a team on any physical health issue, get the right doctors established, and work through the process. This can be overwhelming without help navigating the system. Other than that, we have no real demands on the kids other than to be part of the family, help out if they physically can, and live and heal.
This idea is evolving into something bigger, but I'm not sure yet what. For now, we have a Discord server for anyone who has a physical, developmental, or mental disability and needs support at Kim's Place. Feel free to join us.

I looked up whether NY State has 211 and it does. That is always a local look up service that is a free service for government services. They can find services that meet your needs. Call them and tell them what it is you need and they can connect you to services. They can locate care facilities for you.
I don't know your symptoms, but a lot of people in this sub are neurodivergent. You might benefit from asking them about where to get tested. It might cost money though. Hope this helps.
If they don't help the first time, don't hesitate to call a second time.
