I'm driving from Moncton to Edmundston tomorrow. I've driven cross-province before and took the Trans Canada Highway, but I found it boring as hell and I'm looking for an alternative route across, It looks like the 108 is the other option, but I've heard bad things.

I'm driving a pretty standard sedan, 2 wheel drive, and I'll be driving exclusively in daytime hours. I'm no stranger to backroad driving, and I'll keep my wits about me for moose or other wildlife. Should I be taking the 108, or should I bite the bullet and take the Trans Canada Highway?

Really don't understand how there's a labour shortage on the Peninsula, I have a summer cottage in the area and see lots of working age folks that seem to be unemployed, there's a 12% unemployment rate in Caraquet so lots of people must be looking

Just a few shots from my time in the area before going to PEI, wanted to say thanks to those who recommended places to stop. It did happen to be quite foggy but it added to the charm of the region. The locals are great, I found it interesting that I was asked more than once if I was visiting for work.

The fee isn't high enough and doesn't reflect the actual costs these nincompoops impose on everyone else, delaying rollout of a smart grid and all of the benefits that come with it.

Opt out shouldn't even be allowed. If it is, then the fee should be $50/month of something more reflective of the costs.

This is a long shot, but i figured it was worth putting out there.

I was driving a black Hyundai Elantra on the highway today and ended up riding/driving alongside a woman on a motorcycle for a bit. You were absolutely flying down the highway and made my boring drive way more interesting.

Currently in Rothesay/Quispamsis for work, and I’ve noticed that every other lawn and patch of grass (residential, commercial, and public) has a “poison - treated with pesticides” sign on it. Coming from a province that doesn’t allow cosmetic pesticide application (ex. for killing dandelions in your lawn), it‘s been weird to see! I read that a few towns in NB (Sackville, St. Andrews, and Caraquet I believe?) have banned the use of cosmetic pesticides altogether. I’m wondering how common it is in other areas of NB to see these signs everywhere? Does it depend on the neighborhood? (I know forestry and agricultural spraying is a whole other issue as well)!

Hi everyone! I’m currently working on a project centred around the voices and experiences of people who have lived in New Brunswick’s care system. As someone with lived experience in the NB care system myself, this is something that is very close to my heart, and I would love to hear from others who have experienced it too.

I’d love to know what you wish the people and systems responsible for supporting you had known or understood — whether that’s government, social workers, group home staff, foster parents, lawyers, schools, or anyone else who had a hand in your life and the lives of other vulnerable young people in care.

What worked? What didn’t? What do you wish they had done differently? What do you think people working with youth in care need to understand?

Hi. Due largely to my sexual trauma history I’m looking for a gym and/or yoga studio where men are expected to keep their shirts on.

Is that the norm here?

Universal dress codes have been typical other places I’ve lived, and some have suggested this is the case. I just want to find out first before going to the gym.

My current yoga studio typically has shirtless men and when I asked them about a written policy they said they don’t have one but also confirmed that gender norms are expected to be followed. Since I don’t want to make waves there I want options of somewhere more comfortable for me.

Also looking for input on how to frame the question “are there shirtless men?” to gyms without getting called a crusader?

To be crystal clear (I hope): I recognize this is MY trigger and that’s why I’m asking for a place I’ll feel comfortable. Not trying to change anyone’s policy.

Edit: mods can you lock the thread? I’ve been informed here and on Facebook that gyms typically require shirts with hot yoga (such as the one I’ve been attending) studios being an exception.
