If the headline is accurate to the title of the video (The van we bought vs the home we build) it makes it sound like they are van lifers. A class of (at least those that post about it) influencers that have monetary interest in glamourizing the "lifestyle".

So people judge them on here under that assumption. Then the people defending them use the argument that, no, they aren't doing what the title insinuates (building a home for themselves) but it's instead stealth advertising for their business. If a big manufacturer did that it would be ethically wrong and illegal, and surprise, that also goes for a smaller business.

And yeah, actually, you can continue butching if that which invalidates your earlier pitching is also shitty.

how is that "an obvious advertisement"? Do you know the meaning of the word obvious? there's no mention to selling this, or any refer to a website or anything else. You only know they sell these because someone looked it up and told you. That's an advertisement just like seeing someone with jeans you like and you looking up the brand

They aren't something like amazon or mcdonalds. . "Oooh my advertisement is disclosed" Yeah? who cares? They showed a video on how they turned a van into a camper, there isn't any additional info on how to buy it. In fact, the first thing I thought is "Wow I should do that myself" not "Wow I should buy one". This is a whole nothingburger

It's instagram. It's fair to assume literally everything on there is an advertisement because I don't think anyone uses it for anything else. If I post almost naked pictures of by body but I also have an onlyfans, that's not me deceiving people.

Huh? Lots of people use Instagram for sharing. Lots of people use it for advertising.

But you hope people distinguish the two.

It's no different than Youtube. There's lots of ads there too, but lots of original content. If someone doesn't distinguish the two, I'd get annoyed.
