8

u/overactiveswag Jun 29 '26

3

u/cautious_nipples Jul 01 '26

They got off lightly!

6

u/AboveAverage1988 Jun 30 '26

I dropped mine on the ground when I missed my pocket. Had to send it in to have the radio module replaced. Then on the other hand, I dropped it down a flight of stone stairs once, and the repair consisted of putting the battery back in it and snapping the shell back together and it was good to go, so..

4

u/roentgen85 Jun 29 '26

Still on 50% battery?

5

u/British_Ballsack Jun 29 '26

And I was absolutely thrilled about it.

3

u/pullMyF1ng3rPuff Jun 29 '26

You’re still using it, right? Not a single scratch.

2

u/miami13dol Jun 29 '26

I did accidentally freeze the LCD display on one of these forever ago.

4

u/brooke360 Jun 29 '26

Same, mine was a 3390

3

u/MetiqueBakabila Jun 29 '26

Nokia 5110

5

u/Msed0428 Jun 29 '26

I dropped this off a 3rd story balcony. It hit the parking lot and the battery flew off under a car. Shit still worked.

4

u/WestHappyLand Jun 29 '26

Service was so shit and I got angry and threw mine about 50 yards into a tree. It came apart and I put it back together and it was fine.

3

u/ResearcherTricky7007 Jun 30 '26

How was the tree? Obliterated, I'd expect

2

u/666spyder666 Jul 03 '26

To shreds, you say?

3

u/Purple_Elderberry_20 Jul 03 '26

Threw mine at a wall....

The wall was dented and the phone was fine....

4

u/flopshooter Jun 29 '26

this photo def needs to be updated with the 5110. it was THE phone for 3 years !

3

u/bmxdad7 Jun 29 '26

Btw, did you have a custom face plate? Had to go custom.

2

u/flopshooter Jun 30 '26

3

u/random_i-am Jun 29 '26

This was my first phone in 2001.

2

u/Reaperrg93 Jun 30 '26

Yep my first one here

2

u/ResearcherTricky7007 Jun 30 '26

Did you stuff penny’s between the phone and battery to make the battery not slide off?

Don’t think it’s on there.

5

u/Gunfighter9 Jun 29 '26

I had that phone, it was actually great.

5

u/Bigk621 Jun 29 '26

Shit, I had a bag phone for the car! Huge ass battery with the handle on top, predates all that!

3

u/supersonicdutch Jun 29 '26

Parents had one and I thought the internals were all this high tech stuff straight from nasa but, nope, all/mostly battery.

5

u/Beginning-Whole8770 Jun 29 '26

#3. It was about 1994-1995 when I got first cell phone. AT&T 3810.

5

u/jonshado 90s Kid Jun 29 '26

The Nokia 5110 should be on there too. The 3310, from 2000, had more sales but it was technically just an upgrade to the 5110 from 1998. Which was the OG "you can't kill a Nokia" phone.

2

u/Reaperrg93 Jun 30 '26

Man I think mine was exactly this color

2

u/Kind_Swim5900 Jul 01 '26

Some posted the 5110 but in silver. I recognised it as my first phone, but I also had the black one.

3

u/985211hypehype Jun 29 '26

this one in 2007

4

u/Austronauta Jun 29 '26

My boyfriend loved his and didn't want to change it for a smartphone. We had many people trying to convince him to change it. He finally did, but sometimes still misses it.

3

u/reen420 Jul 05 '26

It was awesome. Great sound quality for the time. And it just looked sick. Same with the Motorola razr

2

u/ResearcherTricky7007 Jun 30 '26

That was my 5th phone, and one of the best I owned. It was flawless. I got the Sony Ericsson Elm afterwards, but it wasn't quite as good though still okay.

2

u/Kind_Swim5900 Jul 01 '26

I always wanted it soooo bad

4

u/r3tract Jun 29 '26

2

u/ArgusTransus Jun 29 '26

That’s what I had.

2

u/Human_Bad5547 Jul 03 '26

There it is! Look at those easy to read buttons and the faux leather executive carry case! Ahh, good times. . . .

The first Tracfone cell phone that I owned from 1999. Just a green LED numeric display, a retractable antenna, NiCad battery, and it was an analog cell phone!😄 This was when prepaid cell phones had just started. I remember it was $10 for ten minute cards, and $20 for thirty minute cards. No texts, no data, just talk time. Oh, and the charging time was 4-6 hours with maybe an hour of use, and standby time of maybe 6-8 hours. The good ol' days.😉

My dad started me on a prepaid Moto Razr then my mom wanted to 1 up him by adding me to her plan so I picked the LG Versa. Edit: I really got hit in the feels scrolling through old Verizon phones trying to figure out which one I had. 😅 I miss when phones had character.

2

u/Blur-Nobody Jun 29 '26

I don't know if this is the right model but it looked like this. I had a grey one first and I liked it so much I ended up getting another that was black like this one after.

2

u/Rizz-o-matic Jul 03 '26
