My family never had this clock.

2

u/O_Caldas 26d ago

I had it until his meeting with a hammer. My mother was looking like Thor that day 😆

2

u/JPS-WC 26d ago

No… we still had one with the tumbling digits😶

2

u/CarrotMuch1399 Nostalgia Trip Leader 26d ago

Yes. True

2

u/TechnologyFamiliar20 26d ago

This is the only thing that will survive nuclear explosion and nuclear winter (see Threads). This and roaches.

2

u/HaileyReeBae 25d ago

My mom still has one. The dust in it is older than me.

1

u/Ill_Raisin_8587 26d ago

They must have made a killing.

1

u/DoookieMaxx 26d ago

I can hear Phil Collins voice in this picture.

1

u/Significant-Pie959 26d ago

Why separate alarm volume!

1

u/HitByFjaka 26d ago

u/stardust1914 26d ago

Ya, my mom had this exact type for like 20+ years before it stopped working.

1

u/Odelaylee 26d ago

Is it one with this very evil "MEEEP-MEEEP-MEEEP-MEEEP"-Sound?
I had it as a teen - and I hate this sound to this day. Whenever it is used in a commercial or a movie my bloodpressure will be something like 220 to 160 or so... Pure hate

1

u/CheekyMonkE 26d ago

I'm looking at mine right now.

I had put it away and was using a Google home but ol' reliable is just the easiest to read in all lighting conditions, if it ain't broke don't fix it.

1

u/NoBoss5907 26d ago

Still do

1

u/OkSecret839 26d ago

Not every. I don’t remember if mine did or not.

1

u/viperfangs92 26d ago

Still got mine. Its on it's last days tho

1

u/Square_Telephone_150 26d ago

I hit the snooze button so often I finally broke mine. But it was the best clock at the time.

1

u/Firm_Macaron3057 26d ago

I remember those!  BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP!  LOL

1

u/Goldenstripe941 26d ago

How did you get my parents clock?!

1

u/Express_Ad_4166 26d ago

Can you also set radio as an alarm instead of the annoying buzzing sound?

1

u/33GoodSamaritans 26d ago

My sister used to have one exactly like that! I'm not sure if she still has it.

1

u/sengariph 26d ago

Why is this picture making alarm sounds??!?

1

u/69fellatx 26d ago

I still slap that bitch every morning.

1

u/Enough_Photograph678 26d ago

best alarm clock I ever had you were not going to sleep through that buzzer

1

u/ipx-electrical 26d ago

That would be difficult, it would have to be passed from house to house every second.

1

u/Rotteneverything 26d ago

mine predated that. i had the one that had the little flip tabs.

2

u/Ok-Database-2798 26d ago

My older sister had it but I'm sure got rid of it as she tosses almost everything. I'm the opposite. I had the red digital clock shown above in my teens and 20's. Now in my fifties and long married, I'm sure I still have it packed away somewhere. Moved five times while married so I am still discovering stuff like "Oh that's where that is??" Lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Mysterious_Tea_4094 26d ago

Many still do. It migrates to
A workshop or sewing room

1

u/wirennutt 26d ago

Still using the exact same clock 40yrs old and still the radio works

1

u/thedfourth21 26d ago

Yes…. The anxiety just from seeing the picture

1

u/SpiritualDamage4566 26d ago

I had one like that. Only thing different was the color. The one I had was all white. Had a sort of sci-fi look to it.

1

u/Lighteningbug1971 26d ago

We still use

1

u/AlwaysCurious1250 26d ago

I had one. It started to make a buzzing sound, but it stopped doing that after I put it on one side. A sideways clock was better than a buzzing clock. Worked perfectly for years.

1

u/Steeleguy 26d ago

still do

1

u/Mobile_Aioli_6252 26d ago

I had an Emerson throughout HS

1

u/Ok-Database-2798 26d ago

I had this exact alarm clock in my bedroom in my teenage and 20's years. Now in my fifties and married 22+ years, I know it's packed away somewhere. I don't like getting rid of things if they still work and/or sentimental. 🥰🥰🕠🕠

1

u/Grum761108 26d ago

I had this, only mine had a cassette player. It was loaded from the top.

1

u/MommaMia1924 26d ago

Still have it

1

u/big_daug6932 26d ago

Annoying alarm too.

1

u/MutedBrilliant1593 26d ago

How are posts like this almost always correct? Did the 70s only offer one or two options of any type of item?

1

u/FloridaMadeMeDoIt 26d ago

Mine is still being used.

1

u/XX_AppleSauce 26d ago

I was able to stay up reading books with this clock. My eyes are shot, but read a lot of books.

1

u/Hard-DckDad 26d ago

My parents still have one of those.

1

u/Real-Experience-8396 26d ago

I had a similar one for well over 20 years.

1

u/Lmf2359 26d ago

My grandparents had them on either side of their bed. My grandpas had the red numbers while my grandmas had the green numbers. She passed in 2021 and he passed in March of this year, still using his clock until the end.

1

u/quimbierthanyou 26d ago

I've still got mine...

1

u/BeffasRS 26d ago

1

u/Western-Memory4397 26d ago

They don't make them to last like that one.

1

u/Machiavvelli3060 26d ago

I have the exact same model next to my bed. It's one of the few clocks I have to set when the power goes out, or when daylight savings time hits.

1

u/AmateurPhotog57 26d ago

I still have one

1

u/No-Sprinkles3211 26d ago

1

u/niceandBulat 25d ago

Maybe in thr US

1

u/amigolunatic 25d ago

We are poor so we don't get to have that

1

1

u/Naturich58 25d ago

Oh yeah, right after I got my first SIX Transistor Radio! Was a huge deal! How obn earth did they manage to fit 6 whole transistors into that small Radio? Like - No Way! As of mid-2026, the most advanced, high-performance logic chips boast transistor counts exceeding 100 billion to over 200 billion

1

u/MisterGreeter 25d ago

I had a Panasonic clock radio, not a General Electric clock radio.

1

u/NeuroguyNC 25d ago

Still have a similar one. Got it to replace one that had the numbers flip over.

1

u/Ok_Illustrator_3980 25d ago

My uncle had this. With I had kept it.

1

u/rockalyte 25d ago

they had those base line alarms. I remember hooking up a 6x9 speaker to one of those clocks bypassing the stock speaker. When the alarm went off on my table I nearly shit myself.

1

u/KrazyKelevra75 25d ago

I had one. Got it at the beginning of high school. It died when I was in my mid 30s

1

u/Extreme_Original9832 25d ago

Wow, every family? Imagine how many times it changed hands (and that it still works).

1

u/Excuse_Eastern 25d ago

And every hotel

1

u/Jactus_Cat 25d ago

Still have mine

1

u/Crazy-Wheels 25d ago

My parents had the exact one back in the 80's, until my Great Dane puppy chewed the hell out of it. Something about the red glowing numbers that made my dog go mental.

Had him for 9 years, six digital alarm clocks were chewed, until mom got a old fashioned wind up one... so he attacked a night light and shoes.

I just think my dog was crazy.

1

u/Snoo_65284 25d ago

I still do, and it works perfectly. lol

1

u/watchbog731 25d ago

I still do

1

u/Decent-Inevitable-50 25d ago

1

u/Ok-Bison-3451 25d ago

I’ll always remember trying to tune in a Chicago AM station at 1am on a Sunday morning- from Toronto, Canada. It happened once, it could happen again!

1

1

u/obsidian88darklight 25d ago edited 25d ago

The hollow victory.

Oh gwaud the flashbacks that constant annoying as all earth loud high pitch screeching. finally the day came when it awoke me from a sweet dream for the last time. I ripped it from the socket gave it the death stare as I cursed it's creators gave it the elbow of dispare, threw it across the room only for the alarm to break and start constantly emmiting this distorted broken ring furthering my anger. I launched out of bed like JoJo charging his opponent or broly vs. Goku. I kicked it 1000 times yelling like a caveman until I remembered the batteries. I tore open the latch and ripped them out like mortal kombat instantly silencing the dream killer once and for all. By time I was done it dawned on me I realized... it had won in the end, as I could no longer could go back to bed and needed a new alarm clock for the fight to resume with a new opponent another day. A Victorious battle in a undefeatable war.

1

u/Hot-Campaign6303 25d ago

I remember even the sound of the alarm clock😁

1

u/No-Solid9108 25d ago

Looks kind of like the one my mom had in the bedroom when she was old but she passed away at home , so I threw it in the trash because I couldn't bear to look at it . It's like clocks that are in your family mean something .
