I remember falling off my bike multiple times as kid in the early-mid eighties. The thought of me hitting my head on the ground never entered my mind and I legit don’t remember any of my friends hitting their heads either whenever they fell. Doesn’t mean helmets aren’t a thing to wear. But it was never an issue when I grew up.

I recognize that i think.
Humans have this thing that when they fall, they try to prevent that by stretching our arms and legs to take the brunt of it.
But yeah, there are situations when this just doesnt work and a helmet will save you more likely.

Someone i knew fell off a bike backwards, he cracked his skull and died on the spot. His reaction didn't help him.

Either you survived or you didn’t see that kid again

Jeans in the 90s. Ah, yes, the sweet feeling of asphalt or bare dirt with rocks against my then young skin. Those were the days.

I turned 50 last month and i still have a scar on my knee from 1987. ;-)
I wear it with pride.

Needed a clothes peg and a playing card to be real cool 😎😁

It is all just memory, you don't fall off in memories, unless it's an epic fall and even then you don't feel the heavy slap of unfriendly ground and losing yourself in a minute of too painful pain before the warm glow comes over and makes the pain worth it.

Just like me, in the 80's though.
We also jumped those mini ramps.

Most of the kids who survived are fine, probably

I don’t remember wearing shorts in the summer until about 8th grade or so. Only sissies wore shorts and sandals.
