Recommendation Looking for notebook

does anyone have recommendations on where i can find a notebook with these specs:

  • A7
  • dotted
  • spiral bound
  • not too picky about gsm but prefer minimal bleed with regular gel pen

A7 plus dotted plus spiral together is close to a gap in the market, so you will probably end up dropping one of the three. Worth working out which one you actually need before you spend a week searching.

If spiral is really about lying flat, a stapled A7 dot pad does that just as well. Rhodia's small dot pad is A7 and the Clairefontaine paper in it is about the best you will find at that size for gel pen - very little bleed, some show-through on the back but not much.

If you need spiral specifically because you tear pages out, you will probably have to go up to A6, where spiral pads are easy to find. Even there most of them are grid rather than dotted.

If dotted is the flexible one, A7 spiral grid pads are common and 5mm grid does most of what dots do once you are used to it.

On the bleed side, at A7 the paper is thin whoever makes it, so if gel pen performance matters I would let the paper decide the purchase and treat the binding as the thing you compromise on.
