But there arent many russian tourists

and they tend to congregate in a few spots (but completely saturate those). They also have a reputation for being absolute gibbons, even more so than the usual tourist mob.

Where WERE the Russian tourists who are currently missing? I wouldn’t mind taking their slot and hanging out with cool people in a low key setting!

Off the top of my head, Karlovy Vary's russian crowd got Thanos snapped. It's a thermal spa town with a famous liquor distillery (Becherovka) you can visit.

Eastern Finland really took a blow. So if you have appreciation for lakeside views and shopping for dairy products, it isn’t crowded in there atm…
Their absence is noticeable in Southwestern archipelago region and Lapland too, but those have fared much better in replacing them with other groups than Eastern side.

Finland seems like a fantastic place to me but the language seems terrifying, as a monolingual American. I know Latin and Ancient Greek but that’s not generally useful or applicable outside of academia.

Everyone and their mom even in the most remote swamp in Finland speaks at least survival level English, so our terrifying language isn’t an issue for a visitor, though it does make it a bit more challenging for an immigrant.

Latin unfortunately isn’t as common, but quite a few know the basics and up until recently we even had a weekly newscast in Latin on radio by our national broadcaster (true story!). Ancient Greek sadly isn’t as widely known, but we do have a handful of enthusiasts.
