Humans are not dry. We're sacks of bones and muscle, sacks made of oily skin, that occasionally covers itself in water to cool itself.
We would be disgusting to ourselves if we weren't humans. If we were some abstract aliens, we'd look at humans sweating and eating and breathing and touching everything the same way we look at a fly vomit and then "clean" it's face with that vomit.
