Trying to decide between a refurbished Leap V2 from BTOD vs. Crandall. Can anyone who has experience with both help me understand why you’d pick one over the other?

I’m about 5’9”–5’11” and fluctuate around 240–260 lb.

From what I can tell:
BTOD: ~$736, optional +½” seat foam, 60-day free returns
Crandall: ~$749, ¾” thicker seat foam standard
Crandall also rebuilds the 4D arms and includes new cylinder/arm pads
Crandall offers an optional thicker back pad
Crandall has a lot more upholstery/color customization
Atlas Leap V2 headrest can be added through Crandall, although it looks like I could also buy it separately for a BTOD Leap

Both have 12-year warranties
BTOD initially looked cheaper, but adding its new cylinder/arm pads appears to bring it to ~$776, so Crandall may actually be the better value hardware-wise.

Am I missing any important differences in the refurbishment quality, foam, parts, warranty service, or long-term durability that would make you choose one over the other?

Hi, I'm 1.67cm like 5 foot 6. What is the best chair for me? I need to sit around 8 hours a day. Thanks. I tested the IKEA JÄRVFJÄLLET and it was pretty good but my shoulders are kind wide for it.

Looking for chair found this and seller was willing to sell the chair for 100 maybe could go down a bit but was wondering if it rly is an aeron and if its worth.

I’m torn between these two chairs right now. I wish I could test them, but there’s no possibility to do so, and once I buy and assemble it, I can’t return it.

There are also variants of the Enjoy Elite 2: mesh or fabric seat, mesh or fabric back. I’m also not sure which combination to go for.

Has anyone had experience with either of these?

I'm currently using a Steelcase Leap v2 that I picked up from Crandall Office Furniture. No fault to the chair or Crandall, it's a smidge too short for me in the lumbar support.

I think the Steelcase Leap v2 is designed for up to 6'3" or 6'4"?

Well, I'm 6'5" and have some mid-back issues. The extra padding in the seat is probably lifting me a touch taller, too.

Anywho, I'm just looking for a comfy, tall-guy office chair... and hopefully without spending $2200 on a HM Aeron C.

Suggestions? It feels like most manufacturers don't make chairs (sub $1000) that are made for people 6'5" and taller.

Worst thing I've ever sat in in my life.

The chair constantly wrestles with you to force spinal lordosis for the hecking lumbarinos while your upper back grapples with staying upright as the chair parodixcally provides no support and creates a ballistic amount of friction on your legs (as if it's trying to dismount you).

The designer should be held liable for assault (that's what it feels like to sit in the Chadwick).

Are ergonomic chairs torture devices? Or is this thing just the worst chair ever made?

Hi all, I got a Gesture a few days ago.

Coming from a Secretlab Titan it immediately felt more comfortable, but as time passed I started noticing extreme discomfort caused by the lumbar support. I must be doing something wrong, it just digs into my lower back to the point where it's actually painful. Is there a specific position I should keep it at? It feels bad no matter what. I saw that it can be removed but it's difficult and voids the warrantly, so I don't wanna risk it.

For anyone in the community that doesn’t know me, I’m Greg the President of BTOD.com and the YouTube channel BTODtv. We sell furniture and make a ton of content on YouTube reviewing chairs, desks and accessories.

As you can imagine, we have a ton of furniture that we accumulate every year. Robert and I are constantly buying products to review and we’ve also worked with brands on sponsored content that send us stuff for free.

All of it has value and while I could sell it on FB marketplace or something, I thought it would be cool to give it away to the Reddit community. My team has fully stocked offices at home, their friends and families are set too.

It’s a wide range of products like Colamy branded chairs, to Ergohuman chairs, Steelcase Leap plus chairs and more. I have 30+ standing desks, countless monitor arms, light bars/lamps and other gadgets. 

Unfortunately, not everyone is close enough to pick stuff up locally at our office in Wisconsin. But for those who are, it would be an awesome opportunity to get something to improve your setup. 

The plan is to set stuff aside that I plan to give away, share a photo on the Office Chairs subreddit and get a gauge on how many people plan to come. I want to try my best to have enough for everyone to get hooked up. But I won’t know what this looks like until we do it once or twice.

This will be a longshot, but does anyone have a steelcase gesture that they would be willing to take apart and take pictures of? Specifically the height and seat depth adjustment parts, along with the chassis part which they attach to? I want to 3d model and print replacement parts to fix my own chair, and possibly other people's chairs

Hi! I’m looking to finally get a really good office chair since I’m usually at my desk for at least 8 hours a day for work, studying, gaming, etc. I don’t really have a budget, I’m willing to spend more if it’s actually worth it and will last me a long time.
I’m 5’2” and around 124 lbs, so one of my biggest concerns is finding something that actually fits someone shorter. I’ve seen people mention seat depth, minimum seat height, and where the lumbar support hits, but I’m not really sure what I should be looking for.

I also run REALLY hot and my current chair traps heat like crazy, so breathability is pretty important to me. I was originally leaning toward mesh because of that, but I’m open to other materials if they don’t get too hot.

I sit cross-legged a lot, put one leg up on the seat, and sometimes put both feet up on my desk with my legs extended. I do have a height-adjustable standing desk. I’m willing to change some of my sitting habits if I need to, but ideally I’d still like a chair that lets me move around/change positions comfortably. I also sometimes get lower back and hip pain.

Appreciate any suggestions and would love to hear other people’s experiences with their chairs, especially if similar to what I’m looking for :)

TLDR: 8+ hrs, ventilation, petite, good back support, lets me move/change positions, durable and comfy

I'm looking to replace my current ergonomic chair and would appreciate some advice, especially from people who have actually used these chairs for long periods.

I'm 165 cm (5'5") and 77 kg (170 lbs). I spend several hours a day sitting at my desk, mostly studying, reading PDFs, and using a mouse.

My current ergonomic chair also has a mesh seat. After sitting for a while, I often develop significant buttock soreness and lower-back fatigue/discomfort, and occasionally I also experience tailbone/coccyx pain. I already get up, walk around, and stretch approximately every 50 minutes, but the discomfort can still build up throughout the day.

I'm currently considering:

- Sihoo Doro C300 Pro V2

- Sihoo Doro S300

- LiberNovo Omni Pro

I understand that the two Sihoo chairs also use mesh seats, but obviously not all mesh seats are the same. The tension, flexibility, seat design, and pressure distribution may be very different from my current chair, so I'm not assuming that another mesh chair would necessarily give me the same problem.

The Omni Pro uses a padded/foam seat, which feels quite different. I've already tried the Omni Pro in a showroom, including the 48 cm seat-depth version, and it felt comfortable and the seat depth seemed fine for my body. However, it was only a relatively short test, so I have no idea whether it would remain comfortable after several hours.

My priorities are:

- Long-session comfort

- Good lumbar/lower-back support

- Minimal buttock pressure or soreness

- Minimal pressure around the coccyx/tailbone

- Comfortable for upright or slightly reclined desk work

- Good durability and reliability for long-term use

Reclining/lounge features are nice, but they're secondary to actual working comfort.

Between the C300 Pro V2, S300, and Omni Pro, which would you recommend for someone with my height, weight, and these issues? Why?

I'm particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has owned or extensively used two or more of these chairs. I'd also love to hear how the Sihoo mesh seats compare with the Omni Pro's foam seat specifically for buttock/coccyx pressure after several hours of sitting.

I'm open to other chair recommendations as well if you think none of these three would be ideal for me.

Wondering if anyone with my body type has a chair they absolutely love. Mid-20s, 5 foot 2, 130 pounds, no pain to account for (and also don’t want a chair that creates pain!)

Hi, I have tested at the store the IKEA JÄRVFJÄLLET and MATCHSPEL. The JÄRVFJÄLLET feels like my shoulders are about to pop out the chair because they are too wide while for the MATCHSPEL the space btw my knees and chair is very small like one finger. I can only buy IKEA stuff because I don't have 300/500 euros to drop. What's better for my health overall ?

I want a secret office chair, and I don’t know where to look. Please help. Please.

For the past few months, my Haworth Fern office chair has been dislocating from position when leaning forward or sitting on my leg. Last month, the chair completely failed to stay in position after mechanical failure of the indexing mechanism.

Upon disassembly, the coated sleeve bushings were reduced to small fragments and were falling out of the seat railing. Further inspection revealed that the indexing mechanism had galled and experienced material creep due to experiencing load over time.

I've seen some of the threads here on this subreddit discussing the Haworth Fern's seat tilt issue.
I didn't feel comfortably with the zip-tie option of holding the chair together, as it didn't seem like a long term fix.

Unfortunately, this flaw is present and a potential failure zone even in chairs purchased without the optional seat tilt purchase - as they all contain the same mechanism (for some reason - probably for ease of manufacturing and parts availability).

I didn't anticipate my 3-4 year old chair to have this issue so soon after moderate use. I've already made personal modifications to this chair that I suspect would put it out of warranty.

The replacement rails that I "re-engineered" removes the seat tilt function completely, but it still allows the seat to slide forward and backward.

I know not everyone has access to a 3D printer capable of printing engineering grade filaments like the injection-molded OEM part uses (Nylon CF - PA6CF) but for those of you who do, this could help you. I've even had success in printing them with 100% infill PETG.

Unfortunately, Haworth doesn't sell replacement parts on their website for users who have a chair that's out of warranty and has a functional discrepancy. For those of us who desire to repair it ourselves, I figure we should have an option that doesn't cost us another paycheck.

I have decided to give back to the community and share a solution to this problem. It has been a successful fix and replacement for the OEM parts (so far). I appreciate all of the forum discussions and independent makers/troubleshooters who I feel I've personally taken for granted; so, I'm paying it forward.

I hope this helps others as it has helped me.

Maybe I'm just burned out, but I’m kind of tired of seeing the same chair recommendations all the time. Aeron is over 30 years old now. Embody is getting close to 20. They’re good chairs, I get it. But most of posts still turns into Herman Miller, Steelcase, or their used/refurbished deal. I'm more interested in the chairs that feel a little less safe. Anthros, PUREis3, LiberNovo, stuff like that. Some of the ideas might be gimmicky, but at least they’re trying something different. Even the fan thing sounds kind of dumb until you think about how many people sit hot for hours every day. What do you guys think？

I need recs for an office chair! I’m a telehealth therapist and I can be sitting in it for up to 6 hours at a time. My current chair I got from Office Depot years ago. The seat is kind of hard and I feel like it is almost angled down so I feel like I’m falling out. I tend to have tailbone and lower back pain. I like sitting crisscross or with one leg tucked underneath me sometimes. I want one with a super cushy, almost couch like seat but with a firm back that doesn’t lean back too far and can adjust to make me sit up straight. The thing is I don’t want to spend $2000+ and I also want to buy new. I see Herman miller recommended a lot which I understand (I’ve read a bunch of posts here and elsewhere), but I can’t afford new. I see people buying refurbished/used but I don’t want to hunt one down or have to mess with any sort of fixing/maintenance. I have been looking at the secret lab chairs but after reading posts on this sub I’m a bit scared to buy. I’m in the U.S. 5 ft 4 in and 200 lbs (I’m also currently pregnant so my weight may temporarily go up a bit). Any recommendations? Am I looking for the impossible?

I've been using a 100 dollar chair from Staples for the past 5 years or so and its really starting to show its age and I would like to take the chance to get something better. Some details:

- Under $600 USD

- 5'8" 180lbs

- Usually in the chair from 4-6 hours a day, sometimes up to 8

- I sit upright, often with 1 or 2 legs up

- Often lean back when watching something or gaming, so a headrest would be really nice

- On hard flooring, but I can get a mat if needed

- No pets

I did some research and I'm honestly quite lost. I was looking at refurbished leaps and amias, but not having a headrest is a bit of a downside for me. I've done a lot of research about the Libernovo Omni SE, but the company is still pretty new and has VERY mixed reviews and a lot of paid ads which has me quite skeptical. I'm not opposed to buying open box, refurbished, or even used if I have to in order to get the best for my money. I'd appreciate any nudges in the right direction or recommendations anyone can provide, thanks in advance.

I saw that OfficeLogix doesn’t have a very good reputation when it comes to refurbished products, but I’m looking for a headrest for the Zody Classic I recently purchased.

So I was wondering if anyone has actually tried this headrest or purchasing parts from them?

I’ve tried searching for reviews, but I couldn’t really find much about it.

I’m also open to other recommendations!

Well thought I’d add some thoughts after having the hon ignition 2.0 Y2 for a few months now. I got the standard tilt black mesh back one.

Context:

I have used a variety of high end chairs. I travel a lot for work so have sat in a variety of office chairs from steelcase series 1 and 2, to the amia, to cheap chairs. I work some at home and some at an office when not traveling. When at the office I have a Nightingale CXO at work. I love the CXO, it is extremely comfy and by far my favorite chair. I also am a person with back and sciatica pains and I am 6’2 and 240lbs

Comfort:

The foam base is stiff compared to cheap chairs, but I find it holds up well for extended use and does not bottom out. It keeps me from having numbing pains in my sciatica or lower back. That said I am not comfortable as the chair is not invitingly soft (which is typical for ergonomic chairs except like the CXO). Backrest is good and non-intrusive. I HATE aggressive lumbar and this chair is very relaxed with lumbar. The chair has decent curving and the mesh is soft and breathable. The back was a big deciding point for me. The back does lean back even when locked upright due to how it flexes. Takes a minute for me to get used to that but I think I like it. Arm rests are meh at best. Worst part of comfort (and in construction) All in all, I do not dream of sitting down in this chair nor loath it. I actually forget about it and I think that is a good thing actually for this price.

Durability:

Warranty is great and gives reassurance. The creaks in the back do not. It’s not insanely loud but the plastic does creak a bit where it meets the mesh and is a tad annoying. Many reviews said the same. The seat feels like it should hold and doesn’t bottom out or anything. The wheels and base seem good too. The arms feel like $100 chair arms. They wiggle a lot and do not inspire confidence. If you use your weight on the arms be prepared for them to slide all the way down on you. Definitely feel the “C” chair in durability for me, but the warranty I guess makes up for it.

Features:

Nothing fancy here, basic features. You can find more features in lesser known brands. This can just do arms out and up and down, basic lumbar adjustment, and seat depth. The flex in the back and waterfall seat cushion are probably the most distinguished features offered.

Pricing:

Price was what sold me. I got mine for $310 new. At that price I feel like the bigger brand and cushion gave me a lot more peace of mind rather than moving into the newer brands like colamy or the like. I think it gives a lot of value that you won’t find until you surpass the $500 mark. For what it’s worth I did have the soji for a minute and found the hon way more comfortable though the rest of the chair seemed/felt similar. That said, at regular $450 I’d pass. The Vera, series 2, and other options start to show up at that price and offer more than the hon.

TLDR; on sale at or around $300 I think it beats about anything in the bracket. At its base $450 there are many better than it.

Hi everyone, I'm really struggling to decide whether to order the PureBack. It seems to be a really good chair with some really cool features, but on the other hand, I've read some posts saying that Ergotopia rebrands Chinese chairs, like they apparently did with the NextBack.

Does anyone have any experience with this model?
