I just finished my first original shape!
Aluminum on mahogany, 25.5 scale length and ultra thin carve top! I’m currently working on my take on a jazzmaster since this one is a single cut

First, for anyone new, welcome to the sub. We are all respectful people here and we like this community, but it has been regularly asked for mods to create some rules/guidelines to avoid confusion as to what this sub is about. So, while not exactly strict reinforcement with an iron fist, but a solid reminder:
• Please post offset and offset related guitar content -including mods, refins, tech tips, artist knowledge, appreciations, etc. Just not Offset the rapper, no offense just not what we do here (you will be removed without warning.)
• Posting non offset deliberately is pointless and will be met with people reminding you it's not offset so just don't do it. If you posted jazzmaster vs strat: tones/playability or whatever, that is not deliberately "look at my strat because I can't post it at this other sub," that is offset related.
• Respect everyone. Not everyone views your view, and not everyone likes what you like. It's okay to disagree or be wrong, but how we go about that defines whether it is a respectful or disrespectful conversation. It takes no extra time at all to be kind to each other, even if we don't have the exact same ideas or interests. Deliberate hate speach of any kind will NOT be tolerated. Avoid politics at all costs, there's plenty of other places to discuss it. Also, don't continually engage in arguments - it's a total waste of everyone's time.
• Please do not list your guitars for private or reverb sale, please use /R/gear4sale for that advertisement or private sale... They are far more reputable and have a fantastic system. I've used it myself safely. Should you reach out to someone privately from or in connection to this sub, we are not responsible for any mishaps of the sale you've conducted or linked to this sub.
• OFFSET RELATED does include pickup discussion, as many of us have discussed for modding our offsets. Some redditors are actual builders and have considered demonstrating their pickups or showing some appreciation but not specifically peddling them in open air. I am okay with it as long as it stays that way, we prefer to not have self advertisement like that. These people are usually major contributors to electronic and modification questions which is a great asset to our sub. You don't have to like it but it's not spam.
• Last but not least, if you post photos, please give us a reason for your post, provide a detailed comment of what's going on if it's an issue. Tell us more about your instrument if you're just doing an appreciation post... Or better yet if there is a warm story about it, share it. Please don't just post for upvotes, be engaging and conversation stimulating.
Like I said, these are not highly enforced laws but clearly defined ground rules for how we all seem to like it in this sub. They may be updated as we go along but for now this seems like a clear path of instruction. Enjoy yourself, respect others, and always try to be helpful because that makes our community stronger.

Greetings everyone, kinda jealous of FB right now seeing as how I can't tag everyone to see this but I am hoping that this post gets to you all well and that it is well received, understood, and leaves no one feeling abandoned or confused by this decision.
[Reddit has recently announced and decided to modify and change some policies regarding the impact of how you might like to use the platform.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Save3rdPartyApps/comments/13yh0jf/dont_let_reddit_kill_3rd_party_apps
Please take a moment to let that sink in and I strongly urge you to read the link and understand that though this may or may not impact the way you enjoy Reddit directly, many of the mods, independent devs who help to create the reddit experience that you might use today, and maybe even the apps that you use (Apollo, Reddit is Fun, Narwhal, etc) to enjoy the platform are potentially at risk of being forced only reddit's app or website as the official way to use reddit - and anything that we use to make your experience better outside of those two options are officially off the table unless there is a significant change to their decision.
I urge you to read in full what is going on, both here and all over reddit, however:
TLDR:
This particular sub has an incredibly resourceful, funny, proud, entertaining, and helpful +37000 users; this is an incredible place for the offset community, as a way to enjoy and be part of something alternative to the norm in the guitar world. This isn't goodbye, we aren't shutting anything down, this is us asking you to stand with us to prove a point.
[Many subs have already joined an ever growing list who are going dark in protest of this change.](https://www.reddit.com/r/ModCoord/comments/1401qw5/incomplete_and_growing_list_of_participating/ We are standing with them. You may have already seen something similar posted to some of your other favorite subs, and if you have read and understood it, please help us explain to everyone why this is important that we join the list. Be respectful and helpful, we know you are and we appreciate it.
"Going dark" means the subreddit will be made private. You won't be able to view any of its contents until we reverse it.
What's the plan?
On June 12th, many subreddits will be going dark to protest this policy. Some will return after 48 hours: others will go away permanently unless the issue is adequately addressed, since many moderators aren't able to put in the work they do with the poor tools available through the official app. This isn't something any of us do lightly: we do what we do because we love Reddit, and we truly believe this change will make it impossible to keep doing what we love.
The two-day blackout isn't the goal, and it isn't the end. Should things reach the 14th with no sign of Reddit choosing to fix what they've broken, we'll use the community and buzz we've built between then and now as a tool for further action.
In Offset Mod Discussion, we have decided to go dark on June 12th. We will return it to normal on June 15th. We understand the importance of the protest, and feel it is important to stand in solidarity, but we wish to not inconvenience anyone further should there be no amicable resolution. We are fully aware that in the end it is reddit's rights to do so, but that doesn't mean that what they are doing and how it has been proposed IS the right way to do it.
What can you do?
Thank you and if there is anything you'd like to ask, ask it here. I will do my best to make sure you are answered or linked correctly until the switch to private has been made.

Not sure how I feel about this, brushed aluminum purple guard. I like the way it looks in certain lighting where it appears darker. Curious to what you all think.

Ready to jam! 1964 Fender VI (refinished). Sounds glorious with Twilighter Vibrato.

Hey everyone,
I have the opportunity to buy this 1964 Saema offset guitar (made in Brazil). It has been refretted with stainless steel frets and rewired, but all the rest seems original.
Does anyone have more info or experience with these? Would love to hear your thoughts on how they play or sound!
Thanks

Serial number P084128. 2002 model. Japanese Fenders use a lot of acronyms to identify models. Is this an MG-69 or something else?

Every so often GC used will come through. Found this guy for a steal and was able to negotiate free shipping. Normally I’m not into red instruments for myself but I’m kinda digging it. Keep red tort pickguard or go black/white?

Has anyone ever pointed out this misprint on page 209? It seems the photo editor made a mistake when stacking exposures and it looks like this Sherwood green Jaguar has got 7 tuning posts. In another photo it’s obviously got the correct number of tuning posts.

My friend Devin and I released our Fuzzmaster kits today. I thought I’d share the video. Basically a Fuzz Face built into the Jazzmaster (fits in the original routes). Devin did a great job selecting components for the fuzz. I love how it cleans up. Enjoy.

It’s the faded 3 tone for me, but the mid 60s bursts are cool too!

Tldr at the bottom of this post.
I've been on this long for no reason journey getting my jazzmaster back up and going. I only intended on shielding the inside because the noise was unbearable but also found I had a dying, now dead pickup.
I then ordered some Sunday handwound pickups(also grabbed a mustang bridge to replace the vintage style) and installed them and have been dying to try them out and hear them, but I've just come into many snags along the way. So many so, that I feel like giving up on this thing because it's been a thorn in my side since I got it used a couple of years ago.
After I installed the pickups and bridge and got it all buttoned up, I still had an issue I have had - notes getting choked out(sounds like the harmonic?) above the fret 12th fret. Specifically the 17th fret, on the third string. Someone on this subreddit was super kind and walked me through adjusting the truss rod because after some measuring, found I had some bad forward bow(fyi I also have it shimmed).
I now have it mostly better, aka I can live with the action I need to have now. My only thing I'm struggling with now is, I cannot not get the thing intonated. I'm not sure what the cause of it is, maybe it has to do with when I was adjusting the action from adjusting the truss rod I heard a thud and was unsure what it was? But when checking and comparing the 12th fret notes to the harmonics, they're all sharp and backing off the intonation screws does absolutely nothing. I can just about totally back the screw all the way out and the intonation has not changed. It just introduces a ton of rattling. I thought I would be cured of rattles when switching away from the vintage style bridge. Can anyone give me some advice? I'm pretty discouraged and like I said, am ready to move on and sell the thing.
Tldr;
When trying to intonate nothing happens. All of my strings are sharp and the 12th fret and I can quiet literally back the screws almost all the way out and nothing changes.

Hi,
I’d like to try out a different bridge for my Pawnshop Mustangs. Is there a Gotoh or Hipshot option that can just be dropped in? Thanks in advance!

I picked up a used 2023 MIJ traditional Jazzmaster and I absolutely love it, but the trem arm is incredibly loosec to the point of being a bit useless. It’s always hanging down, which makes grabbing it to use it sparingly practically impossible, and it will straight up just fall out of the guitar leans forward a bit. I know these don’t screw in like strat trems, but outside of a Staytrem (which I’ve signed up on the waitlist for), are there any options to make this thing behave a bit? I’ve read in old posts that AV trem units are highly regarded, but people also seem to like the MIJ units too 🤷♂️ I haven’t taken it apart yet, but I’m installing a Bensonite bridge soon so I can while I’m doing that if there’s something that could be awry under the hood. Does anyone have any suggestions? TIA!

Put some 10-48 flatwounds on it. I’ve been wanting one of these for a very long time, it’s a fantastic guitar but I have many plans for upgrades for it.

This is my Jazzmaster, and as you see, I'm facing a problem which make most people confused. The pick guard, knob and even pickup are all black. It's hard to see them clearly, so I want to change to a different pick guard. The most annoying thing is, it is really hard to pair a pick guard with a black pickup.

So I traded my beautiful 2014 American Deluxe Stratocaster HSS LSR in 3-color sunburst for this 2025 American Professional Classic Jaguar in Faded Firemist Gold.
I thought long and hard about it and even tho it came in a padded Fender bag ( the Strat had it’s original TSA hsc) I fell in love with it. I’ll need to get a nice Tweed case for it sooner than later. It’ll sound great thru my 72 Champ or Orange Crush 35RT. The Strat is going to a good home where it’ll be appreciated.
The Jag came with its original Jet/Surf pups as well.

2009 fender made in Japan 65 reissue mustang! I love it so much. It’s so comfortable to play
Woke up early this Sunday morning and decided to give my guys a proper shoot.
Newest addition is my blue Fender Hybrid II MIJ - I usually start upgrading hardware and pickups but this guitar is staying the way it is. I absolutely love it.
Orange Jazzmaster Player - heavily modded. Basically stripped down. JB Seymour Duncan set, all fender USA hardware.
Black Jaguar Player - also all the way stripped down. I rewired to a single JB. Also upgraded all of the hardware.
Stoked on my guitar lineup at the moment so I thought I’d share.
Also, I added the last picture in there because I’ve seen my pics get reposted as their own, and it’s flattering but also like, cmon, what are we doing?

Got this prototype jagstang in a trade the other day. A lot of junky parts on this thing but spent the past few days swapping everything. Staytrem bridge, fralin pickups, fender dynamic vibrato, classic vibe jaguar neck I repainted white. Waiting on some tuners but the rest is all stuff I had sitting around. Yall fw the vision? Second pic is how it came.

Hi all,
I'm back again with another build - I completed this one yesterday. This was a full custom order from the client, who wanted my "Wyre" shape, but was very particular with their spec.
Hope you like it. I've got another custom Wyre build I'm finishing next week, then I'm making a prototype of a (slightly) more conventional shape. It's still a little weird though, don't worry! Ha
You can check out other builds on my Instagram, or madocguitars.com where I have my current in-stock guitars listed.

I purchased a mustang bridge to replace my vintage style bring on my jazzmaster, but my guitar is reliced and I was unable to find an aged bridge that fit my necks spec. Is it safe to do the vinegar/salt/peroxide on the bridge specifically the saddles? I don't want to harm the integrity of the saddle grooves or anything. I can live with a shiney bridge but was wondering if it was safe to do.
