Tom Cruise in Magnolia made me question everything I believed.

Tom Cruise is Tom Cruise but he’s also a really amazing actor/producer. Don’t see another one like him on the horizon.

Affleck?

No, liberty biberty

u/Emilie0711 14m ago

I never thought I’d say this, but they need to bring back the damn emu.

2

u/Worldbrain420 29m ago

Don’t see another on the horizon? Well all it takes is another up and coming actor getting indoctrinated into Scientology and controlled cocaine usage. We aren’t trying hard enough as a society unless Timothy shabadoo has a breakdown on Oprah’s couch!!

TC is a great actor. Wish he did more character roles.

Tom Cruise is an amazing actor and all-around professional who also happens to be batshit crazy.

16

u/silv3rbull8 2h ago

I would feel safer acting in his movie than one made by Alec Baldwin

1

u/LittleLadle69 1h ago

Tom Cruise definitely has better gun safety it has to be said

1

u/silv3rbull8 1h ago

Heck Clint Eastwood made westerns for 50 years and never killed anyone

1

u/Administrative_Sky46 1h ago

Okay?

3

u/silv3rbull8 1h ago

You can survive Tom Cruise crazy but not Alec Baldwin stupid

0

u/Administrative_Sky46 57m ago

Why is Alec Baldwin stupid?

1

u/silv3rbull8 54m ago

Too stupid to take note of safety concerns raised by crew on a movie he is a co producer on. And then acts like the victim after that stupidity led to a death of the camera person

This scene was entirely improvised, btw. Meaning that Tom Cruise probably dances like this.

11

u/wooden-fuk-boi 1h ago

I actually saw a thing recently where a woman was at a hollywood party and tom cruise showed up and quite literally made a fool of himself dancing like a fucking weirdo

I can’t stand him but this performance was terrific.

u/Eileen_CHL 2h ago

Bold of you to assume I’d voluntarily watch my least favorite actor.

7

u/barbara7inker2865 1h ago

wait, did you forget the actual title and post text?

2

u/MoNa-Mahi 2h ago

If you truly didn’t watch movies, you wouldn’t have a least favorite actor.

1

u/0hMyGandhi 2h ago

But they've likely seen enough movies to have at least one actor they like the least .

74

u/New-Membership7519 1h ago

Adam Sandler in Uncut Gems

45

u/Chops03xx 1h ago

If I watched movies, I would say he has proved for decades to be a good actor if he chose to, he just knows what makes money and pays the bills.

3

u/UnbearableSchmuck 28m ago

I think he just has more fun making campy movies with all his buddies. Opinion for sure, but he seems like a man that doesn’t give a shit about accolades

13

u/edurigon 1h ago

I stopped hating him. Excelent movie, performance, etc.

5

u/Jaiden051 48m ago

This is the only movie I've watched. Well, I stopped watching becuase my anxiety went way too high.

Never watched a movie since, except if you count 20 second clips of the Emoji movie.

5

u/Erkebram 1h ago

Man... everyone praises this film and I couldn't even stand it. SO. MUCH. SCREAMING.

Instead of getting a feeling of anxiety i just got a damn headache. Couldn't even focus on Sandler's acting.

5

u/Cheezis_Chrust 1h ago

Give “Punch Drunk Love” a watch. Same great acting from Sandler, with a bonus appearance from PSH.

Lord Farquaad?

It's the High School Musical douche. But he was surprisingly good in The Iron Claw. Hell, everyone in that movie was great !

1

u/Cornmeal_Rat 23m ago

Just thinking about this movie makes me tear up and tremble. There were so many tragic deaths they had to cut a sixth brother from the real family for runtime. Amazing movie.

I unironically love The Rundown. Dude was charismatic as hell before he developed a planet sized ego.

1

u/dough_eating_squid 17m ago

I look forward to seeing him play Chicken Man in Bennie Safdie's upcoming adaptation of Lizard Music by Daniel Pinkwater.

39

u/Beneficial_Bug_9793 2h ago

In my defence, i only knew him as Edward the sparkling vampire.

10

u/Consistent-Crab-9013 1h ago

Oooh yes! For me it was seeing him on Good Time. After only seeing the sparkly vampire stuff. Very cool.

3

u/hesistant_alien 1h ago

Good Time only falters in that it feels like a movie you can't watch with someone else. Otherwise it's fucking perfect to me.

5

u/StergiouV 1h ago

Wait until you don't see him here..

Sorry, I hate her, despite being great. Just passionately despise her. Also, I do not watch movies, so what would I know?

9

u/Stellar-Nebulae 1h ago

Not a least favorite, Adam Sandler in Uncut Gems, I never expected this kind of performance from Adam it was outstanding.

2

u/VaguelyArtistic 53m ago

He was also fantastic in The Meyerwitz Stories, and I hear he’s great in Punch Drunk Love. I also just saw him sing—in his natural voice which is actually great—a beautiful song he wrote about Chris Farley that actually brought tears to my eyes.

9

u/Consistent-Crab-9013 1h ago

David Schwimmer playing Robert Kardashian on people Vs OJ Simpson. Some great acting. I only knew him as Ross before.

2

u/LarrySupreme 45m ago

Not to toot his horn. But he was pretty decent in Band of Brothers as well.

3

u/Durian_THX5150 31m ago

You are standing at attention!

Leto in Dallas Buyers

5

u/devoduder 1h ago

Amazing documentary.

3

u/MrJones224822 2h ago

James Spader as W.N. Bilbo (not Baggins) in Lincoln. I can’t stand his ass, but I genuinely did not know that was him until the credits rolled on Lincoln. He was awesome.

5

u/Weak-Cabinet866 2h ago

Also him. In Magnolia.

6

u/NatterinNabob 2h ago

definitely not the usual suspect

6

u/aquilasr 2h ago

He is playing a douchebag asshole criminal who likes to joke around in The Usual Suspects but in real life he is a douchebag asshole who became a MAGA fascist…I prefer the character.

5

u/NatterinNabob 1h ago

Sometimes you just have to put a guy in the right role.

"I want fat hands and im going to dance"

-Actually Tom Cruise

2

u/Manaeldar 1h ago

I feel like Tom is generally a good dude. My head Canon is that he's kind of gullible so he fell into the scientology trap. But he seems to really love making movies and has a great time doing it. Haven't really heard any other really negative stuff about him but feel free to educate me.

3

u/ghostbirdd 2h ago

Les Grossman is the only reason Tom Cruise can stay

3

u/sylvester_stencil 2h ago

Why is TC ur least favorite? He is a rare gem in hollywood

3

u/lastwordymcgee 57m ago

He’s a Scientology nut job. At least, that’s my reason.

1

u/sylvester_stencil 21m ago

I think for me, being insane is part of his appeal. He comes off like such a junky for thrills and danger and I love watching him do so new insane stunt for every Mission Impossible. He also kills it in dramatic rolls like Eyes Wide Shut or Magnolia and can be hilarious in movies like Tropic Thunder. He's just a freak

2

u/MIAxPaperPlanes 1h ago

I have never found Will Ferrell funny, just annoying. Annecdotally I think it may be a black person thing

5

u/SaintPeaches 1h ago

It definitely ain't a black person thing. Youre trippin hard

1

u/Consistent-Crab-9013 1h ago

Really liked him as Vincent in collateral too. He makes a great villain

1

u/Ok_Explanation2834 1h ago

Is that the guy who has fat hands and wanted to dance all the time !!?!?

1

u/Open_Enthusiasm8528 52m ago

Nice honey trap for movie watchers. They can't help talking about their sick hobby.

1

u/so_unfortunately_yt 34m ago

Colin Farrell as Penguin was a masterclass. Never thought I’d ever hear myself say anything close to that.

1

u/KingAudio 32m ago

Pete Davidson in the suiside squad movie. I was worried he was going to be a main character but he didnt last 2 minutes. Lovely watching him explode.

1

u/Due_Summer_2027 32m ago

My least favorite actor is Adam Sandler. Haven't seen a good performance because I avoid his movies.

1

u/BroccoliSouP7 23m ago

Tom Cruise playing cunt is such a smuush, Collateral, so good.

1

u/KetoLurkerHereAgain 21m ago

Also Tom Cruise but in Collateral. Fantastic movie and he and Jamie Foxx both give such good performances.

Otherwise, I avoid his movies.

1

u/Pink-yoshi-club 2h ago

Leto in Masters of the Universe. I had low expectations but genuinely an extremely fun movie and so easy to watch.
