First timer sub of opencode go, which is model is the current best?
For context, I am building my undergrad thesis rn and just subbed to opencode go 10usd. I mostly code alone and handle the 4 layer of the system: Machine Learning (i'll code and train the model), database, backend, frontend, fastAPI.
I need y'all help on which model to use for planning-building. Appreciate the help ^^
EDIT: I'm trying to last it for a month or so, so what's like the best for the price

I haven’t used kimi k3 but i hear it’s good. I have been enjoying glm 5.3 flash with 2x usage rn for processing large documents and it’s very good.

Just use DeepSeek v4 pro for plan mode and then switch to Mimo 2.5 for build. It works out decently. Mimo is heavily trained as its been around for a while plus it has good review skills which come in handy when you ask it to review your build after first attempt.
Also, if you haven't signed up already, sign up with this referral link if you want $5 worth of extra credits usage over your subscription usage.

If this is the only thing you'll be building, you might wanna plan it out extensively first using DSV4-Pro + Kimi-K3, or Kimi-K3 + Qwen3.8-Flash, before then building the rest of it out using Qwen3.8-Flash or GLM-5.3 Flash. You'll be finished in no time, and can spend the rest of the month just working the kinks out.

use kimi, qwen for planning, for coding use mimo v2.5

How much are you spending for this set? Today I am using Claude Fable for planning, but honestly, its too expensive and I want to change it.

for my sideprojects im using claude $20 package and opus mid to hight only for planning and using my opencode go subscription to code generation using the plans.

Just mimo if you want to survive a whole month. For big thinking a more expensive model now and then

You will need the token limit equivalent to mimo v2.5 , for the moment it is the only one. Free models are fine for big usage too, but are limited in context(dumber) and they steal data. But Go gives another model loads of tokens now and then, so check this sub now and then. For the expensive ones: prompt per prompt checking your limit. They do give a good answer when given a good prompt. So very usefull, but my first month was done after 3 days before I knew this.. So just use them mindfull and Go will be great for your needs.

Thanks on this man! but what "expensive ones" do you mean? i plan to use kimi k3/ qwen 3.8 for heavy thinking/planning then probably stick to mimo v2.5 for just coding.

It depends, you can look up what agent would be best for your case. I only code so that would be a poor comparisson. Writing essays I believe Luna is good but don't take my word for it.
For me mimo only is fine, and I just notice some expensive ones think deeper whenever I have limit to use in the last days of the month. But I so seldom use them I could not help you with this, esp for your case.
Ps a good harness self made for your cause (you build rules while you work over days/weeks it gets better) or maybe OMOlight does more than a good agent.

Kimi K3 or GLM 5.3 is overall best, depends on your use case, it's flash version is good price to performance ratio.
And cheapest still workable which can last you even a month with moderate to heavy use is Mimo 2.5.

glm5.3 flash is the best price/performance as of now. sue me.
but stop using it after sep 06 bcs its currently on discount, but then you gotta use mimo2.5/qwen3.8 flash (kinda expensive), depseek v4 flash (non vision)
