anyway to turn off new update button?
on the sidebar get a bright blue bell icon at the bottom of it which when it shows up also forced a popup bubble about updating which overwrites what's on screen(like full screen video, so the bubble is over the video)and stays onscreen. i already know if an update is available since the opera icon at the top of the sidebar gets a white dot.
i use 2 monitors and split the browser between them(2 separate versions of opera in each screen. everytime i would need to update the browser i have to take the tabs in one browser and drag them to the other in order to keep them on reopen which is a hassle so i rarely close the browser ever and the updates never add anything i use, all the time its something i have to turn off because its useless. i don't need opera forcing nonsense popups that can cause burn on on some peoples monitors when not at their pcs(like sleeping) especially since they already have a way to know there's an update available, you don't need 2!

Images with a lot of saturation
Hi, I have a problem using Opera GX. As you can see on the images, there is a significant differente on que quality of each one of them. I don´t know what happened, but the colors are brighthener, and for example on Maps, I can´t see the streets unless I zoom it near to the ground.
What could be? Is there a way to fix it? It was from a recent update on Opera

Constantly "Not Responding"
What's up with this browser CONSTANTLY not responding? Whenever there's any sort of media on the page it just locks up, goes all white, and takes about 2-5 minutes to respond again.
I have to constantly open up other browsers to view page with any media because opera instantly shits the bed. It worked fine for years and just started happening about a year ago.
I already deleted my history file and nothing changed.
Is there any hope for this browser or should I look into migrating all of my bookmarks/etc?

opera not loading properly (?)
I’ve never really been good at explaining, so sorry if smth doesn’t make sense . but whenever I search something or go onto an already existing tab on opera it says about:blank which is really annoying.
Ive refreshed the page, restarted my device and restarted opera. I’ve also been hesitant to delete it and then reinstall it because I have a lot of important tabs that I can’t lose.

New Opera update messed up display on several websites like Amazon & Twitch etc
Don't know if Opera's new recent update is the problem or ad block or other extensions or what, but ever since the update, websites like amazon & twitch display in a weird odd way and don't look normal. And twitch doesn't even load all the graphics. It loads top bar. But not the left side and center graphics. It says "Something went wrong... We couldn't find your recommendations" Weird. What's going on?

Flapping (?) screen on Youtube
When I scroll down to the comments, the screen sometimes starts going up and down incessantly, as if I was trying to destroy my mouse. Sometimes, it's just the "reccomended" session. Reloading the page doesn't solve it. Yes, I have hardware acceleration activated.

I can't use extensions
I can download and install them, but even though they're set to show up at the tool bar, they're not there and I can't find them anywhere. I'm trying to use the Webpaint Tool.

Excessive memory usage on arm64/aarch64 Linux
I'm super happy to finally have Opera on my Raspberry Pi5-8G running Ubuntu 26.04.1. However, the memory usage is extreme. On a freshly booted system, starting opera with one tab uses 4.5-5GB of ram. This cant be right?

Passwords
Hey All,
I wanted to change my browser for a more productive experience, I had used Opera years ago and liked it but I ended up back with chrome. Anyway I have started using opera for 48hrs and I have had nothing but what I can describe as hell!
I spent 6 hours, yes 6 hours yesterday trying to sort some issues that cleary was created by switch to opera.
Basically, passwords for what ever reason are being rejected when you using opera browser.. I can literally resent the password and it still rejects it.
What is going on, in this day and age this should be the one thing that works correctly.
I had an absolute disaster yesterday with discord, which was cleary created by Opera.
I can see others have had this problem as far back as 3 years ago. So I guess it's still an issue smh??
What if anything can be done?
Any advice or suggestions for a slick, intuitive and productive focused browser.
Thank you!

Browser crashing when moving tabs between windows
The last few weeks when i move a tab from one window to another (basically 2nd screen to main screen) the whole browser lags, crashes then reloads.
Is there any way to fix this other than to just never move tabs?

Suggestions for Vertical Tabs and Sidebar
These suggestions apply to Opera for Windows desktop...
I like the vertical tabs, and it may be that I'm not understanding how to use them properly. Either way, I would like vertical tabs even better if I could move them at will over to the right side of the browser window instead of the left. Also make the vertical tabs bar so I can grab it and move the entire browser window like we can do when using the horizontal tabs.
Likewise with the Sidebar, make it so one can place it on the right side of the browser window instead of the left.

I built an automated MV2 file extension archiving system (Manifest-V2-Archive)
github.comIf the MV2 extension is at risk of being removed from the extension store, I created an automated archiving system that runs every day at 00:00 UTC to back up MV2 extension files into a single repository. I planned this project a month ago, and I’ve finally been able to set up the automated backup repository. The goal of this project is to make it easier for MV2 users who have trouble finding their extensions in the extension store and to protect the extensions from being removed.
The Manifest V2 Archive consists of:
A wiki consisting of: a. Guide to Installing Manifest V2 in Chromium-Based Browsers (Developer Offline Mode) b. Guide to Installing Chrome Extensions on Firefox-Based Browsers c. Tips for installing Firefox extensions in Chromium-based browsers d. Manifest V2 Database (Chrome Web Store, Add-ons Firefox, Microsoft Edge Add-Ons, Opera Add-ons)
Offline Archive, an archive containing the MV2 extension that does not include the Forge software and does not have the extension file in the releases section. You can download the extension here.
Online Archive, an archive that is automatically updated every day at 00:00 UTC. You can view the automatic updates for the MV2 extension in the releases section.
Thank you for visiting my project. I hope it helps many people.

Sudden Pause in Downloads when NEARLY DONE
I don't get why it seems like either the fate or the browser is trolling for abrupt halting of the progress in downloading just when it's lesser than 10% to finishing away?
I highlighted the images into 2;
rectangular cyan - those showing the ongoing progress of mp4s to be downloaded.
oblongish red - those showing the already finished mp4s that were already downloaded.
Issue: I wonder why is that the bigger files (red marks) are downloaded fastest, while the smaller files (cyan marks) took waaaay too long to download even at this moment?
