Help! Help me decide

I've been gifted this beautiful paper. Now I'm wondering what should I make with it to highlight the beauty of the paper? I've considered making paper cranes or some Kusudama. The problem with the later is that there is not enough of one color to make approximately 30 unit.

What do you think is the best project to use this?

Help! This is the sixth time I’ve tried folding origamibyboice’s "Head Empty" model, and every attempt has failed; I just can’t figure out the shaping stage—I don’t know what to do with that tail at the back. I’ve reached the point where I’m starting to view myself as an incompetent disappointment. Please

Help! Where you get your paper from ?

So people please don't bash me for it but I really don't know, I'm pretty new to this.

So I just got into origami 2 days ago but I already feel like I'm transcending into the more difficult works of origami and feel like my paper doesn't quite fit the job anymore.

So I searched for some larger paper but couldn't really find anything good (I'm from Germany)

or it was pretty expensive (almost 20€ for like 30 to 60 sheets 🥹?!)

There's only like "folding paper" I could find for a good price but which was like 160g/qm ...?

I don't really know what thickness is the ideal one? Like 70 to 80g ?

I need help people :(

Carne variation

This is a variation of the famous crane. I made it by chance while trying to remember the folds for the regular one. In comparison, it has slicker wings and tail/neck.

The best fit seems to render it has if the crane was drinking from a pond with its wings slightly closed.

A butterfly origami

Hi! First time poster here. I'm searching for a working origami model of a butterfly: it doesn't have to be realistic (just the general shape would be fine) but i really want it to be able to fly like a paper airplane, maybe also flapping the wings. I searched on YT with no success. Any suggestion? Thanks

I'm teaching a beginners intro to Origami class soon! Tips and advice as the teacher please!

I will be teaching an intro to origami class soon and was hoping some of you would have good advice! I've been doing origami myself for close to 18 years and really love modular pieces. I'm well versed in all of the basics but I'm just a little nervous and was hoping for some tips, either things you wish you would have known as a first time instructor or things as a student you would like an instructor to do! Thanks in advance!

Origami Dilophosaurus by TKG

Crease Pattern software Recommendations

Hello,

I have very little experience with origami, but deeply love and respect it as a craft, skill, arftform, technology, and so much more. A friend of mine is quite a skilled folder, and is working on designing her own crease patterns.

The current software that she is using on her ipad unfortunately has not been meeting her needs though and I was wondering if any of you fine folks have any suggestions. We both are on more of a limited budget so something affordable would be appreciated.

Things she is looking for is being able to generated grids of various shapes such as equilateral triangles, hexes(Hexagons), and Squares.

Thank you anybody in advance who has helpful suggestions, and I appreciate your time.

What to do with almost 500 paper cranes?

Thumbnail

Short story long, years ago in college I tried to fold 1000 paper cranes in a year. I got to about 500 (497 to be exact apparently) before stopping. My mom just unearthed the bag of all of them. My question: What are some things I can do with them that would generate good? Is there somewhere I could donate them to a good cause? I don’t need to keep them, but I would hate to just recycle all of that work and beauty.
