My radio station

I’ve been listening to Old Time Radio for quite a while, mostly at night when I’m going to sleep. There’s just something about it that helps me drift off. Hanks OTR used to be my go-to, but over the last few months it’s become less reliable for me.

Since I enjoy tinkering with computers, I decided to build my own little OTR station: Tacoma Noir OTR.

I’ve filled it with detective, mystery, and crime shows like Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar, Box 13, The Adventures of Sam Spade, and other shows along those lines.

There are no ads and no interruptions—just one episode after another.

This isn’t a business and I don’t make any money from it. I’m literally serving the station from a small computer in my garage, so it costs me very little to keep running.

It’s currently listed on myTuner Radio. If classic detective and mystery OTR is your thing, feel free to tune in and give Tacoma Noir OTR a listen.

If the recording had ad's it is still included. I just don't run my own ad's. No "call this company to support my radio station" stuff.

I edit an OTR group newsletter and have wanted to create a quiz where people have to match advertisers with shows. Anyone able and willing to compile a list I can use?

I think 15-20 would be good to help capture a variety of OTR shows.

This is great! Thank you. I already have been listening to many OTR stations on MyTuner Radio but yours seems a lot better - no intrusive and annoying ads. Good program choices too, so far.

I think there is a direct stream URL, but I prefer to keep it hidden for security. I'm not going to pretend security through obscurity is "good" but it is better than nothing at all.

That’s a great idea. Have you heard of Oldtime.radio? It’s another old time radio streaming site powered by the internet aechive. It has different “channels” for each genre.
