Hello otr people

This is my first post here i just wanted to ask a quick question.. is there any radio station that uses otr shows and 1920s 30s 40s music just like an normal radio brodcast in the day i did find some i will tell you but they are eather ALL radio shows.. or radio shows with only 1830s clasical music that theres no way will not get boring after a while lol

Anyways this has been my quick question i do love that people like otr is arciving all of these shows o.o very amazing i mainly ask this question because i have an 1932 radio and would like to have a station that feels more the of the radio or atleast close to it

But from what ive seen you only get stations that play just music or just radio shows thats it :(

There isn't any... There is a 12hr recording of a September 1939 radio station but it's not an easy listen, I haven't managed to get past the banter of the morning host or the awkward quiz shows

I was going to suggest the same thing. I’ve actually listened to the whole clip and it’s fascinating. There’s a lot of war-time news (at the very start of the war), plus soap operas, music, etc. It’s authentically a whole listening experience.

I wish we had more day broadcast like that, to really get the feel

archive.org has something like this, https://archive.org/details/cbs-complete-broadcast-day-d-day-1944-06-06-part-001, and a few others....maybe you have seen this already? If you are a podcast person, I think there are several podcasts out like that, that combine shows...I know there's Johnny Dollar for sure....

I, personally, don’t know of any. I’m just glad to be able to get the OTR shows I’m able to get on AM America OTR. They helped me get through the pandemic. I’m glad I can still listen to them…even though I’m now getting some reruns, which is understandable.

Fogpoint Radio has some interesting programming mixed with period music like you’re looking for.

Pumpkin FM has different channels of programming. You can quickly change between two channels to get close to what you want. The stations are available on many apps such as My Tuner, Simple Radio, etc. https://pumpkinfm.com

I'm trying to understand what you're writing but it's confusing. If you want old time radio shows and some music mixed together why not just do it yourself? listen to a radio show then go listen to music of the type you want to listen to. Why rely on radio stations when we live in the day and age of technology you can pretty much make the listening experience on a daily basis what you want. not what other radio stations are doing.

I listen on an app called Radio Garden. it has radio stations all around the world. there are 2 that are my ‘go to’ for otr. search ABN Old-Time Radio AM 1610 from Antioch, Illinois and Hank’s Old Time Radio from Summerfield Florida.
