Is something wrong with my hardware?
I was just chilling in the south France server and suddenly the ambient lighting decreased for a while, before the beginning of the night period. Should I update my drivers? Has this happen for anybody else?

Nope, that was just what's called an [Eclipse], one of many interesting astronomical events that happens multiple times a year.
There are even whole skill trees & questlines around tracking & understanding the effects of these sort of events. While many players currently pay no attention to these things, historically they were all-important, and most high level players & guilds still use these events & alignments as guides when planning things.
As the JP Morgan quote goes: "Millionaires don't use astrology, billionaires do."
There was also a planetary alignment a day and a half ago, where 6 of the planets in our Star System were in a perfect line.

No worries, there was a temporary dip in the planetary energy source via the blocking of an extraplanetary body. This caused minor and easily reversible malfunctions in your hardware.
Time caused the energy dip to go away, so normal service has resumed and will for years to come.
