Advice Wanted Best paint

We bought an old house that a landlord had owned. He used a paint that was really thin throughout the house and after living here for three months, is already peeling and thinning. How would you handle the peeling paint in the bedroom? The paint that is now showing through has lead in it so I’m unsure how best to prep and paint the wall so we don’t have to repaint it again. We have young children in our home

I like PPG speed hide, it’s thick, no drips and covers well.

You want to avoid making dust with the lead. Can wet sand but the clean up is exhausting, everything needs wiped multiple times, walls ceilings, fans baseboard. Id mist the wall scrape, patch, wet sand, patch, wet sand and then paint. Do it right once and be done with it.

Seal the vents and doors, I actually got EPA certified to do it right. There should be the information online from EPA. This is something that needs to be handled absolutely correctly, including your clothes, including a shower Lead is so dangerous for children.

How would you know the paint has lead in it?

It could be disclosed in the sale or they could’ve used a lead test.  Anyone can do a led test on paint
