I’m making a questionnaire for my bachelor’s degree, while also creating a personality test of my own and I have a few questions that could help with understanding peoples’ experiences and perceptions of these tests, as well as their knowledge about typology systems, all which would offer more perspectives on how to go about making a good test. The MBTI model has always been interesting because of despite the Big 5 personality model developing as the dominant empirically supported model of personality, MBTI is so much more dominant socially and culturally. I think what's great about MBTI is that it's shareable. You get a "type" with a cool character and there's only 16 of them so you can discuss with friends. Meanwhile the Big 5 isn't very shareable because of its percentage value format and traits aren't binary but out of 100, and there's 5 of them, meaning endless combinations. However, this same advantage of categorizing into one of 16 types is what makes MBTI less accurate.

Enter psychoscope: psychoscope.art 

It uses 3 levels for each trait mapping them to an animal character (like MBT1s characters) that forms a “team” of animals (kinda like a Pokemon team). And that team is shown on a shareable card. The exact trait numbers are still shown in the card so that exact trait levels can still be inferred. And you still get your typical big 5 test results (descriptions for each trait, etc) outside of the card, just like a normal big 5 test. 

Hello everyone. I’m an ambivert and generally a quiet person. I have a good number of connections and can network quite easily with people. I can talk to strangers, make a good first impression, and usually get along well with people. However, I struggle to develop real closeness with them. Most people know me as a person, colleague, or acquaintance, but rarely as someone they are genuinely close to.

I’ve also noticed that when I’m friendly, smile often, and treat people respectfully, some people start assuming that I’m too simple or easy to take advantage of. Sometimes they even become less respectful toward me.

I’m someone who respects everyone, smiles and greets people, helps others when I can, and can be straightforward when necessary. But when someone insults me or behaves badly toward me, I often can’t give them a strong or befitting response. I can stand my ground in front of them, but I still struggle to respond appropriately in the moment.

Another problem is that I can have a really good conversation with someone initially, but after some time I run out of things to say. I then become quiet again, and sometimes people who initially seemed interested in talking to me start distancing themselves. I can make jokes and make people laugh sometimes, but I also occasionally feel like I’m forcing myself to be funny.

I don't want to become arrogant, rude, or someone who disrespects others. I want to remain kind and respectful while also becoming smarter socially, more confident, attractive, and someone people naturally enjoy being around.

For people who have worked on themselves socially, what helped you with:

• building genuine closeness rather than just having many connections?
• responding confidently when someone disrespects you?
• being kind without being perceived as weak or too easy to take advantage of?
• keeping conversations interesting after the initial interaction?
• becoming more socially attractive without pretending to be someone you're not?

I’d genuinely appreciate honest experiences and advice from people who have gone through something similar.
