Politics [OC] Building wrap over North Portico as White House fortifies front door
6.7k
u/ihopeyougethitbyacar Jul 13 '26
Knowing him, the job of fortification will be given to a personal friend for price that is way over valued and be shoddily done.

u/Ciennas Jul 14 '26
I doubt they're doing jack all to fortify it. This is how they're trying to justify switching out the columns for the tacky godawful shit Trump wants, because the rapist manchild keeps shitting his pants with anger at the thought that we will all immediately forget his name the second he finally leaves.
418
u/Captain_Hesperus Jul 14 '26
There’s going to be ‘The Trump House’ in godawful gold cursive over the front door.

I feel sorry for whoever senseable actual empathy showing leader the US gets because they're gonna have to repair SOOOO much to the People's House.
I just want a leader of the US who actually cares about it's people and now all the random shit they can pee their name onto.

It’s also technically still the job of congress and the senate to stop him. I know, I know. I just saying, you won’t have the “political will” of the masses to stand up until time runs out for that legal pathway, and the republicans know that, which is why they’re trying to run out the clock in every way possible. Unfortunately too many voters buy the propaganda and still believe those legislators are on their side.

Taking out the fact it would be financially impossible for me to get to the Whitehouse. How would I do that? The lawn in front of the Whitehouse is to give protective shooters clear sight lines to any aggressor. Let's say I make it past that, you think I can just open the door to one of the most secure buildings in my country? Please explain how you, the professional revolutionary actor, from the comfort of your couch, elaborate on how this is to be done. Just keep in mind any digital communication is monitored, and any face to face communication near any smart device is also monitored. Go on, tell us how to fucking fix this!

Jimmy the Hammer deposits his millions after work. On the ride back home from the bank, he thinks about his financial future. He enters his home, fires up his laptop, and makes what is to look, as much as possible, like a completely independent decision to purchase 100 million in Trump crypto coin.
He had been told it would be wise of him to do that if his company was given the contract. "You put it in crypto and you'll be the winning bid. There won't be competition. Just make sure you buy that Trump coin when you get home. " They had said.
A knock at the door. Jimmy the Hammer peaks outside. A couple of guys in suits. "Hey there, Jimmy right? Funny to run into you out here in Silver Spring. I'm just joking, we got the same boss. You're doing work for you know, Pennsylvania Ave. You're doing some work over there? Boss has me and Vinny here protect every contract bid winner. We were just talking to Mr Green Waters Pools. Nice fella.
We're here for the boss. Iin case you have any questions about the crypto-coin. It's a really good time to buy. We have eh, financial advisors. We will be waiting out front in the car. We got another couple of boys down outside your daughter's dorm in Vermont. In case she has any questions for her Econ class on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Here's eh...what's it called Vinny? Oh. Right, the URL. The boss is happy with your work so far. You've been loyal. We hope it stays that way."

Truthfully, as a Canadian at the start of his term when he was making 51st State comments and annexation threats I was looking into getting a firearms license to fend off the fascist invasion, but watching the Iran War, the reflecting pool debacle, the MN ICE raids, or anything he does for that matter, I know he would do the worst job possible and it would all blow up in his face.

He was back to grunting and shitting himself by the time we got home. My grampa was a smart, empathic person though, Trump never had a baseline to return to, his behavior has been demented since the 1980's at least.

77
u/BigManWAGun Jul 14 '26
This was my take with the in laws on Biden v Trump. It’s not necessarily about the man in office. It’s about who they surround themselves with.
- Biden was old af and slipping but he had a good cast doing all the stuff that impacts our lives daily.
- Trump is old af, angry, vindictive, and self serving fuckwaffle surrounded by the most heinous people imaginable.
26
u/RainSurname Jul 14 '26
Biden was able to get a lot of shit done in part because he was old AF, and knew every lever he could pull. He totally pantsed McConnell a couple of times.
People half his age have been left slack-jawed by the kind of Gish gallop that Trump subjected him to in the debate. The media ignored all the interviews and speeches he did afterward that made it clear that he was fine.
They selectively edited him to make him look addled all the time. Like claiming he wandered away from some heads of state, when he was actually just greeting some service members that were out of frame.
Even old people who remain sharp as a tack till the end start slipping up on names, dates, and minor details, and Biden also had his stutter to cope with.

u/padizzledonk Jul 14 '26
lol what are Americans going to do? They haven’t done shit so far no matter how outrageous his actions.
Everything remains cool until its suddenly not anymore
Ive said this many times in various subs but we are getting really close to things spiraling out of control, we just have an incredibly high standard of living and way too many people still have way too much to lose
Shit goes really sideways in any society when a large number of people have nothing left to lose...We arent there yet but we are definitely on track to get there.
We have already blown past the gilded age in terms of wealth inequality and wealthy capture of the levers of civil society. Large numbers of people finally see that we are a "Dual State" in terms of the legal system and justice. Large numbers of people can finally see that our government is captured at all levels by the wealthy and corporate interests. Large numbers of people can barely afford to live while watching the wealthiest and people that are supposed to represent our interests in the government gorge themselves on superfulities.
But everyone still has too much to lose to rise up, theyre too busy treading water trying not to go under and drown
Know why shit atarted getting wild during covid? Because a large number of people had the time to take a breath and look around because they got some money and didnt have work and most social obligations went away
We are one or a few crises away from shit going completely sideways in this country. The stock market is fake right now and due for a major crash, the country is broke because we spent the last 25y turning brown kids into skeletons in Africa and the Middle East and shoveling tax cuts and money into the mouths of the wealthy. No one is helping regular people but here we are cutting healthcare subsidies "because we're broke" while we spend 10x that amount on our new war in Iran.
When the SPR runs out (or collapses on itself because its below the level where the salt caverns are structurally compromised) fuel prices will go through the roof and it will crash the real economy as food and fuel become totally unaffordable for vast swaths of the country, the stock market bubble will not just pop this time but explode, the bond markets are already getting shakey on us and im not so sure the world will come to the rescue again to fund the tremendous bailout that will be necessary to keep us afloat by buying our treasury bonds....Then what happens? What happens when a second time in 15y we spend trillions of dollars bailing out corporations while letting the people starve on the vine getring no help or mere platitudes?
I fear that we have a real reckoning headed our way, and at the worst time possible because we currently have the absolute dumbest peoppe possible in place to manage it
If that happens, and the stock market part is inevitable, truly, i think youll finally see it, because every other time in human history when things have gotten this out of balance between regular people and the wealthy violence and upheaval inevitably follows and i can name a half dozen instances off the top of my head and absolutely nothing has changed about human beings in the last 1000y, we are the same exact animal

Exactly. Everyone and everything is just 3 missed meals away from total anarchy. We stay on this track? Everyone across the board will very quickly come to ‘3 missed meals’. America is decades upon decades upon decades of an overflowing tinder box. The right spark? In the right place? By the right person? Everything is very quickly gonna go up in flames. I’m just left wondering what the hell is gonna spring from the ashes? With any hope, something better for the common people.

I don't think he legitimately won the the last election and there are usually a number of accounts that will you accuse you of being just like Trump supporters that denied the 2020 election.

Did you see what they're doing to immigration detainees?
Moving them around to different facilities, busing them, flying them 10-15 times, looping back through the same handful of facilities?
One man who recounted his story was estimated to cost taxpayers approx 250k in travel and boarding expenses.
It's clearly just another part of the grift. Sometimes it was privately owned facilities and secure transport services. Lining the pockets of the prison industrial complex.

This dude is building a fortress because he's definitely going to declare martial law for the election

u/braumbles Jul 13 '26
They paid someone to print a fucking tarp of the front of the White House? Bet they charged tax payers 5m for that.

Making “others” out of poor people while robbing all of us blind. The ballroom and his stupid Air Force one as two blatant examples. And him refusing to sign the bipartisan housing bill. He doesn’t care about avg Americans! But this damn internet and social media allows him to get away with it! He should have 15% support right now by the idiots who are the most racist of them all. Social media allows him to get away with using OUR money to build an Fing ballroom for the true elite!

That image printed on the wrap is just as real as Mitch’s proof-of-life photo.

Shouldn’t it be the door to the Capitol building that's fortified?
After all, that’s the building that got sacked by a bunch of tourists.

u/architype Jul 14 '26
He isn't "fortifying" shit. He is redoing the column capitals so that they are corinthian. He just likes to play "architect" and "interior designer". He doesn't give a shit if all of his policies drive UP grocery prices.

Building a bunker and fortifying the front door makes one think of what’s going on

Might as well burn the whole place down again, finish what the Brits started. That would be the shorter, cheaper path for all this piecemeal demolition.
This stupid notion that the tenants should have any ability to change ANYTHING except for the office decor is absurd. It's not theirs to remodel or destroy.

Especially because he’s remodeling it slowly for his entire lineage to live in as they pass the crown down

This fortification is for when he refuses to give up the office at the end of his 2nd term. This way authorities will have a more difficult time breaking in the door or windows to remove him. He will be holed up with Steve banon, Stephen Miller, ice agents, and the proud boys. And the new fortified ballroom will be big enough to house them.

None of this bullshit was necessary until we got a child molester in there who gives every indication he won’t be leaving.

More enshitifacation of the White House by the orange pedo.
Be prepared that the entire facade will be gilded in gold

u/FormerPirateKing92 Jul 14 '26
One day, well see a video of him getting dragged out from behind his desk.

u/oneStoneKiller Jul 14 '26
He is literally walling himself in to the White House in some stupid attempt to cling to power beyond his final term.

u/Alternative-Dot-884 Jul 14 '26
Something more is going on here.
Fortifying to keep us out is more like ur
8
u/rndnom Jul 14 '26
When the sheet drops, it’s going to say TRUMP in gold Krylon painted wood letters from Hobby Lobby, isn’t it.
6
u/chrwc Jul 14 '26
The entire White House will probably just be a hole in ground when he is done. So far his ballroom has worked out that way. No chance it will be actually sone before when he is supposed to leave office.
