📢 Campus flairs are here!

If your post is campus-specific, consider selecting the appropriate campus flair and adding the campus to your title (e.g. [MC], [CVisC]).

These are optional, but they should make it easier to find and answer campus-specific questions.

LAQE 8 HSVEHSBSHSH

Hellowwww pooo! So I’m planning to take the LAQE 8 next year. Because, I wasn’t able to take the nce :(

Can I ask for advices or tips? Like where do I start, what should I review for math, science, and english. Do they focus on grade 7 topics or grade 8. Is there any reviewers or anything that can help me review for LAQE 8. What are the questions like? Anything just help me plzzzzzzz

And also, is it true that I have to be part of the top 5% of my class in order to apply for the LAQE, and are all examinations the same for all campuses, or different campus, different exam?

Advice for SRS-aspiring G10?

Hiya everyone! Current G10 here--time flies so fast talaga haha.

Starting STEM Research 1 now and I'm incredibly interested in it! I've always loved research hehe, and I would especially love to attend the SRS one day! It would be such a cool opportunity to share something I've worked on, tas lalo na meeting with students from other campuses!! I wanted to ask if anyone has any advice on how to get better at doing research. :DD

I’m pretty new to all of this, so I’d really appreciate any tips on what makes a good research project, what I should focus on improving, or even just things you wish you knew when you were starting out! I’m also curious about how the selection process works and what they usually look for in students/research.

If anyone here has attended at the SRS before, I’d also love to hear about your experience! I’d really appreciate hearing from you guys. :)

(P.S., I swear I'm not really pursuing research just for awards 😭 SRS or not, I'll enjoy researching topics I like--I just really want to make the most out of the research experience and hopefully keep getting better at it!)

I still have a lot to learn, so any advice would be super appreciated! Thank youu 🫶

I'm so burnt out

Currently a first year college student and I have to say that I'm burnt out of my mind. This is not not due to the new environment or adjusting, but due to Pisay. The curriculum in Pisay so advanced that our current lessons stems back to the 9th grade. I don't feel like doing anything, I don't feel like excelling, I can't force myself to do anything because I don't feel the pressure back when I did in high school.

What should I do?

Huhu may pagasa pa ba para sakin?

Honestly, my future is looking pretty bleak. Grade 11 na ‘ko, at one point in my stay in Pisay, nagka quatro at tres na ‘ko sa Math, my grades overall have been so painfully mediocre, and I haven’t participated in any significant or relevant extracurriculars that could help me stand out. I genuinely don’t even know how my scholarship hasn’t been terminated yet. What I want to ask is, sa tingin niyo ba may pagasa pa sakin na makapasok sa UP Biology ( or any Big 4 university for that matter ) o dapat ba bitawan ko na tong pangarap na ‘to? Seriously, be as honest and as blunt as you can, please.

I'm struggling with my classes

LAQE student here. I’ve been struggling a lot lately, especially with my classes. I’m currently in Grade 8, and I have a hard time even starting to study. I struggle the most with Filipino, Chemistry, and 2B (Geometry). Even though I have ongoing consultations for these subjects, I still feel so stupid sometimes. I feel out of place.

I feel slow compared to everyone else here.

My classmates seem to understand lessons after just one discussion, while I sit at my desk feeling lost.

I’m scared for my grades. I’m scared of getting a 4 or 5, and I’m scared of removals.

I could really use some tips & advice...i’m struggling both academically and mentally right now.

Grade 10, consistent directors lister, many many extracurrics (journalism, tech competitions, public speaking contests)

But everyday, diko talaga makampante sarili ko. Im genuinely so scared of not getting what I feel like I deserve with all the hardwork im pouring into my education. I anticipate na that some ppl might say js enjoy it right now, and I am naman. I am very active and I have a social life, I go to galas pa rin naman pag di masyadong busy. I js think mas makakatulong if I know my direction, kung ano mga pwede kong gawin to reach my goals. Im about to schedule pa lang a session with our guidance councilor for some much needed counselling, pero I still want some outside tips, advice, and opinions.

So any tips or like ano ba talaga makakapag pa stand out sakin sa apps? thank u so much in advance!! feel free to reach out if you have more specific thoughts as well.

Do you guys have any tips for me on how to get started like on portfolios as a Pisayan, how to apply for those schools (esp. oxford huhu), and how I can get scholarship too?

Will I get a grade of 5?

Soo...Lately, I've been struggling sa Math 2b & Filipino (I'm grade 8). I've been getting quite low scores on our assesments, and i'm afraid that would bring me to a grade of 5. I'm a lateral student, and i'm kind of struggling with the pacing here. I really love it here, and I wanna graduate from here :( My scores from these 2 subjects just really makes me worried i'll get a 5. I'll just do my best and try to do better sa Midterms this week. Will I get a 5 if my scores were low in the formative assesments? 😭😭

Science and Technology Schools that offers full scholarship and other students privileges for JHS/SHS recommendations pls!

Hello, pips!

I recently heard that this platform is one of the helpful spaces where I could discover opportunities and learn more about things I am interested in, so I immediately decided to give it a try.

I‘m currently searching for a junior or senior high school in the Philippines that offers quality education, particularly in Science and Technology. If possible, I would also love to find a school with opportunities for exchange programs or international exposure. One of the biggest things I am hoping for is a full scholarship with free or fully supported dormitory accommodation, something similar to the privileges offered by Pisay.

You might be wondering, “If that‘s what you‘re looking for, why not just apply to Pisay?” Well, that‘s where things get a little complicated. I am currently in my 3rd year of junior high school, which means I can no longer take the LAQE huhu.

That‘s why I am trying to explore as many alternatives as possible. I want to find scholarship opportunities that could lessen the financial burden on my parents. I also want to reach my goals without constantly worrying that I am wasting their hard-earned money if I ever fail (something I am determined not to let happen HWHWHA).

For me, this isn‘t really about proving myself to other people. I am doing this because I genuinely want to build a better future for myself and hopefully accomplish something remarkable while I am still young. Of course, the satisfaction and motivation that come from pressuring myself are also a huge bonus. Maintaining good grades while dealing with academic pressure is basically my personal motive

(unstable mental health + good grades = all my problems are solved instantly HAHAHAWHJ).

As for my academic background, I was a qualified partial scholar at a major university with a Special Science High School. For Grade 9, however, my parents decided to transfer me to another school so I could benefit from the STE learning system offered by DepEd and experience a different learning environment.

I am also a consistent honor student since elementary school. I mostly excel in Research and Science, while Mathematics has been my greatest academic nemesis since the beginning of time. RAAHAHH 😭

I don‘t really expect to find a school that would still accept me as a transferee for my final junior high school year, Grade 10. However, I want to start exploring my options now so I can be better prepared for Senior High School and the years ahead.

So, if you know any schools, scholarship programs, science and technology institutions, exchange opportunities (only if they will cover my expenses), or organizations that offer full scholarships, allowances, dormitory accommodations, or other student privileges, I would genuinely appreciate your recommendations! Any information, advice, or personal experiences would be a huge help from you, ates and kuyas. 🥹🙏

With determination, self-trust, hard work, and faith in God, I believe that there will always be a way forward. To God be the highest Glory! And to all my fellow future Aghamistas, padayon!

Thank you!

Main (MC) pisay to ashs

hi! taga pisay mc ako, and i'm planning to transfer to ateneo for senior highschool for the ff reasons:

  1. di ko na talaga kaya ang workload dito.. i sleep so late which is universal for all pisay students pero ang layo kasi ng tinitirahan namin and ayaw ako ipag-dorm. ang dami naming inaaral and lately bc of the continuous suspensions, napapadali lahat ng ginagawa.
  2. ang panget ng grades ko. they're just passing. and i'm barely surviving. i'm aware that ateneo is not easy as well but wala namang mas hihirap sa pisay.
  3. i don't have a lot of extracurrics. i'm focused sa acads and i'm not as smart as the other students here.

i need good grades + extracurrics to apply for good colleges and rn, i don't have that.
pls help po. any advices? same curric po ba sila? okay lang po yun bc i'm honestly looking for that-- i still need to get intellectually challenged.

paano po ba ang students sa ateneo? ano po yung mode of convo nila? here in pisay, we use gchat and disc a lot and i understand it's not the same for other schools.

From one Sayanista to another.

Greetings! :) Call me Quin. I used to dream of becoming one of the Pisay Scholars however I was unable to take the NCE since I didn't know that such institution that aligns with my values and challenge my perseverance exist before I was in 8th grade.

Unfortunately, I was unable to take the LAQE since I used to live with a toxic relative those years so I never got the chance to try to get into Pisay.

What can you say to the passion-driven students who could only wish for time and destiny to give them the dream of being a Pisay Student that will obviously never happen?

Sharing my thoughts about the upcoming Pisay campus in Bacolod City, which will be known as Pisay NIRC.

I heard that this will be the largest campus of Pisay and that it may start operating next school year. If it does open next year, I was thinking about the number of slots available. Since the campus will be new, there might be more students who can get accepted through the NCE. They might also offer the LAQE there, especially since there won’t be many grade levels yet.

I feel like if Pisay NIRC does start its academic year next year, there could be a lot more LAQE takers there, even among students who didn’t originally apply to that campus, simply because there may be more available slots.

For the NCE, I think the situation might still be similar, but there could potentially be more slots compared to the Main Campus.

ur journey does not end in pisay

you can take the title and apply it to anything pero in my case, i want to use this to motivate current pisayers na medyo nag-aalanganin in terms of academics.

i’m an alumni who can honestly say na super bobo ko during my stay in pisay. i’m very self aware kasi despite appearing as happy-go-lucky dati, maf-feel pa rin naman ng tao if super lacking siya. i was that person. sobrang low effort ng nilaan ko sa studies ko and sobrang walang wala rin talaga akong hope dati. i even heard a teacher talk about me with people i wasn’t close to, about myself and how i dragged someone down with me by association (oa mo pa rin, ma’am. yang alaga mo nga salbahe to the point na inaya pa akong maging f*b as if di ako binigyan ng malalang trauma after our break up [dw, i said no LOL]). anw, i graduated with nothing to my name, never received DLs awards. the only college i applied to was a SU near our town and i was content na hindi ako makaka-attend ng mga bigating univs kasi i just really wanted to lay low for college. i didn’t want to pressure myself anymore. i took my premed course and without the pressure of doing the best of the best, mas nag-excel pa ako kaysa sa mga kaklase ko dati sa pisay who attended the same university. i was a consistent academic scholar up until graduation, where i received magna cum laude latin honors. this was my it after all those years at nabawi ko rin sa sarili ko yung achievements na pinangarap ko lang noon sa pisay.

(made this post for fun only)
