Help Advice?

So this pencil cactus was not doing well at all a few months ago. I’ve always lived in apartments and gotten terrible light, and grow lights don’t seem to be anywhere close to sufficient for it. It looked really rough, so I put it in this hanging pot and hung it off the balcony above me to see if I could revive it. A few months later and it has EXPLODED with growth and I couldn’t be happier! That being said, I know these typically are not hangers, and typically don’t grow like this. How should I go about handling this (not so) little guy? Just leave it as is? It obviously seems very happy, even putting out brand new shoots in the center, which should grow upright from what I can tell. It’s in proper soil and tbh I don’t even water it myself as it gets watered whenever it rains. Thank you in advance!

i thought Pencil cactus did better on plain ground? I'd say skip hanging. this is mine. 3 yrs old :)

Yea, the reason I hung it was because it’s by far the most sun it’ll get with our north facing windows and porch. I’m just wondering if I should just keep it as is or if I should trim off most of the hanging branch and try to set it in its own pot and hopefully grow standing up.

Judging by the look, are you sure its Pencil cactus? Cause it looks more of fire stick ☺️.
