What the actual F. I got an email saying the dedicated servers I rent have doubled in monthly price. They're giving me the option to "prepay at my current rate any number of months" to "lock in" my current rate. Which is seemingly great and all, but there's nothing stopping them from, say, at the end of whatever I pony up for prepay, calculating what they would've made had I started paying the increased rate, and force me into a custom rate that rolls that in, knowing I'm on the hook for a fully utilized server with significant moving costs.

I know hardware prices are through the roof; quite intimately, in fact. But their underspecified prepay move that is ostensibly raising capital for them to continue expanding their business due to their increased costs has no protection to their existing customers on the back end of the prepay term. And that's before I look at any of the changes in agreement should you choose to do that. Given the nature of the email and the generous 14 day term I've been given to decide whether or not to "lock in my price by prepaying", I'm willing to bet it's probably worth having a lawyer look over the terms given the length of time you'd have to prepay to keep your costs down to weather the hardware cost storm. And you still may get screwed.

Not sustainable. These economics are f'd. This isn't even about AI, it's about how they're presenting it and what other little nuggets may be hiding in their prepay agreement.

Anyone else get hit with this?

Looking for a low–mid pop server for farming + selling pies (support role)

Hey, I’m looking for a server (preferably not a specific team) where I can mainly farm and sell pies/meds to other players.

I don’t mind some PvP and actually prefer low to mid population servers so there’s still activity, but not the full chaos of high-pop mains. On the servers I’ve played so far there just hasn’t been enough consistent demand for pies because the pop/activity is too low.

Ideally looking for:

• Low–mid pop
• Server with decent player activity so selling pies is actually useful
• Somewhere that has a bit of a “don’t raid the farmer” culture or offline protection so I can farm without getting offlined constantly
• Prefer just joining the server rather than being locked into a team
