When One Person's Loss

Upvotes

Losers are people with nothing to lose

Though winning in life is the thing they did choose

Strangers to even most of their neighbours on their side of the town

So few wish to know of the financially down

It is not saying anything in any way that is new

That every poor person their friends in the few

When you cannot afford to go for a drink in the local public bar

It is when you learn how scarce your friends are

So much truth in the words that the wise one did say

That money speaks every in the world of today

It can be said of poor people in countries worldwide

That they are not blessed with a god on their side

There are more losers than winners as a truism remain

In a world where one person's loss becomes another's gain.

They said Goodbye Before Hello

You are very important
The world bears imprint of your steps
If you send a hale
I will echo your call and ask about the wind
Where you rest, allow me sit at your fire
And I will talk of colored stars
Should you ask for silence
I will let the dawn speak

Original Poem Do As I Say

This guy from my town was the mayor.

Of justice, he seemed the purveyor.

He'd go to the news,

To say: "Pay your dues"

But he was a lousy taxpayer.

--------

He'd preach that no good man should drink,

And that booze would make your life sink.

He'd lecture us all,

While standing quite tall,

But his own cheeks were rosy pink.

--------

He'd preach that all marriages should last,

And say that temptation comes fast.

He'd talk of devotion

and love's deep emotion,

But chased all the girls that would pass.

--------

He'd go on with lengthy diatribes,

About all the rules he'd prescribe.

About catching thieves,

So praise he'd receive.

While lining his pockets with bribes.

Original Poem Rock Girl

At the superstore

She had those blue evil eyes

Metallic nostril

She made the first move, Rock Girl

Out of her bra, a rose quartz

My mother warned me

Never give Rock Girl a chance

She gave me citrine

Right then and there I began

To shake and sweat, she just laughs

You are beautiful

However I don't believe

In aventurine

Your eyes do shine like opal

Only similes I'll pull

With me you won't be satisfied

No watermelon tourmaline

Or blue lace agate

Can alter our lives

These rocks will always have a place

Just nowhere in my mind

Oh Rock Girl  (You won't be satisfied with me)

Oh Rock Girl (I can't make you happy)

Oh Rock Girl (I'm more of a rock and roll fiend)

Rock Girl! Rock on!

Jade

Smooth, Green

Soothing, shining, inviting

Solid, hard, cold, rough

Remaining, idling, laying

Crude, Calm

Rock

How Come Of The Dead

How come of the dead few bad things most people never say

When alive they criticized them but when dead they are seen as okay

It is a biblical thing do not speak ill of the dead

Your criticisms save for the living instead

Though many of the deceased when living did seem far from good

And did not seem honest on earning a livelihood

From the trials of living the dead had their release

And of them it is said may they now rest in peace

Many see it as okay to criticize the living but not the dead

A badly flawed person whilst living when deceased negative things by many not said

To criticize the living rogue is seen as quite right

Though it is said we all are of equal in our god's sight

Does this mean that a murderer becomes a better person when dead?

On this such a thought has me scratching my head.

If I Were Given Eternity

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

If I were given several lifetimes,

I would spend every one of them learning.

There is too much I haven't seen.

Too much I haven't learned.

Too many places I haven't stood,

people I haven't known,

questions I haven't thought to ask,

and versions of myself I haven't had the time to become.

But I've only been given one life.

So I'll spend it remaining curious.

I don't need to know everything before I leave.

I only hope that when I do,

there is still something I wanted to understand tomorrow.

And if somehow eternity were offered to me,

I don't think even that would be enough.

Not because I fear the end,

but because every answer seems to uncover another question,

every place reveals somewhere else worth seeing,

and everything I learn reminds me how much I still don't know.

Give me eternity,

and I would spend it the same way I've tried to spend this life:

looking,

learning,

wondering,

becoming.

And when eternity finally reached its end,

with a thousand unanswered questions still in my pocket,

I'd probably look toward whatever came next and ask,

“Could I have just one more day?”

Original Poem Beyond the Fence

Beyond the Fence

Life,

It feels so foreign to my eyes,

This strange world under heavy skies.

Is this the life we’re meant to see?

Am I alive, or used to be?

Wasting away in cold blue light,

Why does it never feel quite right?

With nothing left to lose or gain,

It borders close to the insane.

It’s such a shame.

I only see what’s washed away,

As moments fade from day to day.

A ticking clock inside my chest,

When did it start and leave no rest?

Am I running out of time? Yes.

To do just what? To toil and bow?

A gear inside a machine built for now?

To work the fields for green was life,

To work the plant for cash brings strife.

Now give your children to the state,

They claim to know and guide their fate—

The truth is clear as years go by:

They’d rather raise them, than you and I.

Keep busy, child, or lose it all,

To pay for things that fade and fall.

The dollar calls its followers in,

A carrot on a stick of tin.

You own no carrot, hold no stick,

Just bound by string to pull the trick.

Has every promise been a lie?

Will I survive to sixty-five?

No tomorrow’s guaranteed,

Is there time to borrow or concede?

Shed the world that man has made,

Find true life where colors fade.

God prepared a gentler land,

To walk together, hand in hand.

To leave this world may look so poor,

Like foolish men behind the door.

But in creation, wealth resides—

Where time and love and peace abide.

Truth rests within the viewer’s view,

But tell me, whose eye looks through you?

This is the place you’re crafted for:

Just breathe the trees, the sea, the shore.

With eyes to see and ears to hear,

How do I make the pathway clear?

The Spirit called, the grace was shown

Creation is my rightful home.

Yet here stands a boundary fence,

Built by my hands without defense

A life I made before the call.

Yet in the wind I hear it all.

I see your light begin to rise

In fiery red across the skies.

I find my peace within your grace,

You walked beside me in this place.

I simply had not cleared my sight

To see your love in morning light.

So like the birds, I will not sow,

On eagle wings I’ll rise and go.

For now, my place is grounded here,

To hold these precious blessings dear.

I want to live, no longer bound,

Leaving man’s world for holy ground...

In love.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."

Amen.

Man And Tiger

The sturdy and healthy and strong young man who had been there and done that

A former cricket star who scored many runs with his cricket bat

Was not granted the time for to grow old and fat

In India on holidays he became a meal for a hungry big cat

His ageing killer a tiger by name

At killing and eating a human did not feel any shame

Since the creature without guilt does not have shame to hide

The hunger in him by his human meal satisfied

But the meal that he killed for on him an act of suicide

For what came as natural to the tiger under gunfire he died

Even a frail and ageing tiger for to live does need meat

And humans are not hard to kill and quite nice to eat

The story of the tiger and the young man in his prime

Through the decades of years will live on in time.

tonight wake

tonight   wake
when late winter returns
home   your inmate

in your nightgown
with your candle kneel
beside your bed and shiver

after you go to  bed
after you go to sleep

when the horizon's become a purse
that today's early summer's
returned her sun to

when the warm breath
of today's spring's been
expelled from your chamber into the

late winter's dawn at dusk

the cold air seeps   into your cell through
gaps between the casing and the shutter
between the door frame and the door

through cracks
in mortar and masonry he oozes
in   inhaled

the late winter returns
home   not to warm you out of your bed
but to freeze you in

Original Poem The Girl with the Chrysanthemum tattoo :

Lightly raised eyebrows

And Squinty eyes of love

Smell of deep purple

And a body lush

Sliding through water

Droplets rolling on curves

She takes a deep dive

Into this unknown earth

Come out now girl

The sun craves for you

Shine thy body around

With lips raised as new

This world is yours to cry for

Don't you worry at all

Fill its moon with your tears

Like drifting leaves of fall

Your footprints won't be forgotten

These pebbles will wait for you

The smell of your skin has,

Already been deeply understood

Now just fly into these clouds

Of misty dreams and dreamy hopes

Your sweet voice has already found

It's place in the highest mountainslopes

Does Not Seem Aware

This world is for us humans to live in and with other creatures to share

But many of us far too many it seems of this does not seem aware

More trees on land meant for wildlife are needlessly removed every day

On pushing many species to extinction brink us humans a huge part does play

Many species of wildlife that were plentiful nowadays in zoos only seen

In the twenty first century wildlife numbers on the decrease faster than it ever has been

And extinction is forever as a truism does seem a sad thing to say

Without needless land development by the financially greedy for wildlife it would not be this way

Sad to think that the future generations of children may not have the joy for to see

The creatures that you and i regularly see living wild and free

Human environmental behaviour on wildlife numbers is taking its toll

And for extinction financially greedy developers are playing a leading role

And by far too many people obviously do not seem aware

That this world is for us to live in and with other creatures to share.

Followers are transfixed by the cross
So every pulpit blesses bastards
Across T.V. prosperity
Biblical greed descending from a city upon a hill
The number ALL is never enough

Since Satan is absent, another challenger shoots looks
Preachers promise mountains shook then caught fire
Asking the price of faith
But not only saints grace thick trucks
Some just want the wine and pass over the blood

Quiet crickets sing through pocketbooks
Which denies love is the whole law, they pride betrayal
Slightly like angels
Zealots cast stones smashing hassles
Enriching liars who write history behind broken backs

Sweet tea spills most sunken ships
Even when poorly promised peace before crooks
Where lip service is a clique
Yet Earth swallows faster than prayers rise
Microphones would martyr every lamb to stay out of jail

Original Poem Pain

Pain
I remember the first time
blood trickled from my
skin. My knee scraped
against concrete.

His hands stretched—

The thud
as my body hit the floor.
He stood there frozen.

I watched as the blood began
to flow down my leg
and drip

Pooling on the floor.
I stared not with fear
but with curiosity.
As the pain slowly crept up
my body.

Waves & Sounds

Waves, sounds, rhythms i never heard before, more than i can imagine and comprehend, planted inside my soul.

My soul was stolen up to that heavenly light i never witnessed before.

I can't deny that i felt your rhythms stealing my inner being away, out to your deep inside.

Waves me up and down till my dreams sing with your songs, i am waiting there hoping that our dusk won't raise up ending over lovable night.

The day we met, that day our eyes demanded to see the same light.

A full moon full of velvet romantic mist that stole me till the end of our night.

Distinctive

Distinctive in appearance and in song

Once seen and heard seems hard to get them wrong

Medium sized birds of brown to light grey

That from trees are never far away

As grey shrike thrushes to many they are known

And one can say of them they have ways of their own

Related to shrikes on nestlings of small birds they sometimes prey

Not thrush like in some of their habits of them one can say

In rural town parks and the wooded countryside

Their sort of bird are known Australia wide

Yet to see one in a cage or aviary

In the wild state them i only ever see

They may look like thrushes but the comparison does end there

In common with shrikes they have more to share.
