When One Person's Loss

Upvotes

Losers are people with nothing to lose

Though winning in life is the thing they did choose

Strangers to even most of their neighbours on their side of the town

So few wish to know of the financially down

It is not saying anything in any way that is new

That every poor person their friends in the few

When you cannot afford to go for a drink in the local public bar

It is when you learn how scarce your friends are

So much truth in the words that the wise one did say

That money speaks every in the world of today

It can be said of poor people in countries worldwide

That they are not blessed with a god on their side

There are more losers than winners as a truism remain

In a world where one person's loss becomes another's gain.

They said Goodbye Before Hello

You are very important
The world bears imprint of your steps
If you send a hale
I will echo your call and ask about the wind
Where you rest, allow me sit at your fire
And I will talk of colored stars
Should you ask for silence
I will let the dawn speak

Original Poem Rock Girl

At the superstore

She had those blue evil eyes

Metallic nostril

She made the first move, Rock Girl

Out of her bra, a rose quartz

My mother warned me

Never give Rock Girl a chance

She gave me citrine

Right then and there I began

To shake and sweat, she just laughs

You are beautiful

However I don't believe

In aventurine

Your eyes do shine like opal

Only similes I'll pull

With me you won't be satisfied

No watermelon tourmaline

Or blue lace agate

Can alter our lives

These rocks will always have a place

Just nowhere in my mind

Oh Rock Girl  (You won't be satisfied with me)

Oh Rock Girl (I can't make you happy)

Oh Rock Girl (I'm more of a rock and roll fiend)

Rock Girl! Rock on!

Jade

Smooth, Green

Soothing, shining, inviting

Solid, hard, cold, rough

Remaining, idling, laying

Crude, Calm

Rock

Original Poem Do As I Say

This guy from my town was the mayor.

Of justice, he seemed the purveyor.

He'd go to the news,

To say: "Pay your dues"

But he was a lousy taxpayer.

--------

He'd preach that no good man should drink,

And that booze would make your life sink.

He'd lecture us all,

While standing quite tall,

But his own cheeks were rosy pink.

--------

He'd preach that all marriages should last,

And say that temptation comes fast.

He'd talk of devotion

and love's deep emotion,

But chased all the girls that would pass.

--------

He'd go on with lengthy diatribes,

About all the rules he'd prescribe.

About catching thieves,

So praise he'd receive.

While lining his pockets with bribes.
