I've heard 2 theories.

  1. Her job is finished now that he isn't in power anymore.

  2. By leaving she makes it harder to pull him off life support as unless he changed his medical POA then only she has the right to do it.

Yeah, the one you’re talking about, in MC, was a year or two ago. The other just got back from a mysterious four-month absence for “depression” like last week. That one, of course, votes against giving sick leave to us proles

This is so crazy because I didn’t think conservatives believed in mental illnesses, unless of course they can use them as an explanation for regular mass shootings (because it couldn’t possibly be the guns)

There should be required attendance in Congress. If you are ill no problem just state so. If you are avoiding voting or just doing your job in general a special election should be held. Representation of the people is a constitutional right. Also it’s your MF’ing job. If I sent MIA and didn’t report to work for even just 1 week I’d be on the hot seat or fired.

There should be required attendance in Congress.

The level of attendance should be decided by the voters who are sending that representative. It's voters right to elect someone who won't even go to DC if that's what they want.

I doubt any voter wants to elect someone for a 6 year term and they never vote. If they do okay sure. Voters should have representation. As stated, if there’s valid reasons keeping you away for a few months or so fine. But say 2 years? No you are unfit then. And that’s okay step down and have a special election.

It's ridiculous to force representatives to do things their constituents don't want.

It's very clear that there's a bunch of people in the United States who specifically elect their representatives to obstruct and destroy government function either by not participating or through active sabotage. That's the right of those voters, that's how democracy works.

I agree that the Con's only concern is holding onto the majority, because if Dems take control of the House and possibly the Senate, they will control the gavel, set the legislative agenda, have subpoena power, and control what issues are even brought to be heard in the various sub committees.

It would make Trump a lame duck for the rest of his term, and it would open the flood gates of investigations into his criminal enterprises, including the staggering amount of insider trading he and his son's have profited from in the last year and a half.

And we'd get a more indepth look at the perps in the Epstein files.

  1. Run for re-election
  2. Continue to cut health benefits for everyone while taking maximum advantage of them for himself.

I'm glad that the rep got treatment, but he should have suffered through FLMA and needing a doctor's note like the rest of us. There's employers who can't deal with you being MIA for 4 minutes, 4 months is insulting.
