"standing" is the death of American Justice. Write a law that's illegal as all hell and just be explicit in the law that nobody at all has standing to challenge it. It's bulletproof under the current SCOTUS adoration of power over democracy.

Oh, but it's worse that that. The SCOTUS allows right-wing activists to sue others without having standing and they allow it anyway, so it's, again, Republicans being hypocritical.

Sometimes they even let them sue for imaginary harms, like the non-existent gay couple asking for a wedding cake.

Rules for thee, but not for me is the only true Republican policy.

First thing that occurred to me when I read their justification for saying there was no standing: “mere offense, disagreement, or distaste does not qualify as a concrete and particularized injury.”

Truly insane double standards.

Can’t wait to see all the trans panic lawsuits thrown out for this reason…

If it violates the Constitution then who has standing? Shouldnt any citizen be able to bring a case?

I remember when i first started learning about "Standing" and knew it was a construct for defense of white supremacy, but couldn't quite articulate that fact.

Yeah that's kinda my thought. We worked up an okay legal system, but people found the exploits and are fucking them. There've been many parties in the past who made whatever they did "legal". Cool.
