When will the corporate media push on AIPAC-backed, pro-Netanyahu Mike Rogers to condemn his pal Bibi on telling the New York Times that 9/11 was "very good' for Israel?
Why is Mike Rogers more interested in spending $1.5 trillion on Israel's wars than on healthcare for American workers?
Why did Mike Rogers recently attend 4 AIPAC fundraisers in 48 hours in Los Angeles?
Michigan should consider these questions before selling out American workers to a foreign nation.

Yeah, it's about 300 billion over the entire modern existence of Israel.

Quick Google says 175 billion, 125 of which was paid to us weapons manufacturers, not israel.

I am voting for him, but I want to see blood this time. No more of this "compromise" bullshit the Dem leadership has been so fond of when faced with all the people who have been literally murdered by not just Trump, but also the neoliberals who bow to corporate interests. I want to see a political purge of both the party and the government as a whole.

These numbers are actually kind of concerning for a state like Michigan. We should not be this close in a state that Trump won by <2pts.
Compare this with:
- Peltola leads by 2 points in a state Trump won by 13pts.
- Talarico leads by 3 points in a state Trump won by 14pts.
- Brown leads by 8 points in a state Trump won by 11 pts.
- Turek leads by 7 points in a state Trump won by 13 pts.
This MI Senate race should not be this close.
24
u/Nintz 19h ago
Pollsters believe El-Sayed is probably a weak candidate, as progressives usually underperform slightly in general elections relative to generic expectations. Though, a massive caveat to that is most progressives don't get past the primaries in big high-profile battleground races. They usually win primaries in safe seats where people are more likely to protest vote. Pollsters are extrapolating that to this race, but even they aren't sure if that trend actually holds in a race like this. It's just an educated guess with extremely little data either way. El-Sayed may be in a very close race if so, or he may actually have a significant lead if dem-leaning moderates ultimately choose to hold their nose and fall in line.
19
u/peaq_tv America 19h ago
Well he under preformed in the primary race by double digits too so...
15
u/Nintz 19h ago edited 18h ago
Indeed he did. The question no one knows the answer to is what the Stevens supporters will do come the general. Pollsters are expecting a certain amount to follow El-Sayed, and a certain amount to not. They adjust for that, and that's why his polling looks worse than Dem candidates in other places. But I've heard pollsters specifically say this particular race involves more uncertainty than usual, because there's so little precedence for a progressive winning a primary for this type of race. Only time will be able to tell whether they were right or wrong.
-4
u/peaq_tv America 19h ago
Stevens is supporting him, but I imagine AES refusal to fully disavow Piker is making a chunk of her voters uncertain, especially the Jewish constituency.
25
u/Mooltipasser 18h ago
Yes, the singular important thing in Michigan: Hasan Piker
-10
u/peaq_tv America 17h ago
What's your explanation for why AES is underperforming compared to the other races I referenced?

u/DueVisit1410 6h ago
Massive AIPAC funding shifting to Rogers and the pre-work it did? The fact that he's a Muslim and Islamophobia is very much on the rise in the US?
That said the media's insistence that they should constantly talk about Hasan Piker is likely not helping. But it's a weird double standard to demand he constantly account for out of context stuff this guy said, but they don't think twice about honouring a monster like Kissinger.

Brought to you by the "vote blue no matter who" side of the Democratic party. Spend years shouting at progressives to support milquetoast corporate candidates, won't vote on a progressive candidate.
1
u/fundohun11 13h ago
The regular "vote blue no matter who" moderate Democrats will not be the problem. Most people that voted for Kamala in 2024 will vote for El-Sayed in 2026. Unfortunately getting the Kamala Harris vote is not enought to win Michigan. The main problem are the Obama -> Trump -> Biden -> Trump voters (or a similar permutation). And El-Sayed has a hard time with black voters.
3
u/Pyju 14h ago edited 14h ago
Uh, yes, he is in fact just a streamer. Just because AES invited him to some rallies doesn’t give him an entirely new profession.
I also think it’s funny how people constantly regurgitate the 9/11 comment, something that both AES has disavowed and Hasan himself has said was wrong to say. It’s telling that the main criticism of Hasan, an entertainer who talks off the cuff for 50 hours a week, is a single comment he made seven years ago.
Yes, in the approximately 22,000 hours he has been streaming and talking off the cuff, he has made a couple inflammatory remarks that he probably shouldn’t have. Big fucking whoop.
2
u/fourarmedturtle 8h ago
You could say he's "just a streamer” but the problem is that El-Sayed actively brought him into his campaign.
In politics, it doesn’t really matter if a comment has been "disavowed”… It didn’t matter when Trump tried to disavow white supremacy after inviting Nick Fuentes to dinner, and it didn’t matter when Mitt Romney tried to explain his infamous 47% comment later on.
The moment El-Sayed brought Piker to multiple of his rallies, he allowed that 9/11 criticism to attach to his campaign. In my opinion, it is just not politically smart to even have the appearance of being associated with someone who ever made that comment, especially as the first Muslim candidate to the US Senate.
-7
u/Vankraken Virginia 16h ago
Probably shouldn't do campaign events with a streamer that says a bunch of anti American shit or cheers on terrorism. It really isn't a big ask to say "I disavow this guy who said the US deserved 9/11 and cheered for Houthi's hijacking a civilian cargo ship".
4
u/DMAgamus I voted 14h ago
If by "deserved 9/11" you mean him saying 50 years of America destabilizing the middle-east led to an ultimately unsurprising retaliation, which he's clarified multiple times for years.
5
u/Pyju 14h ago
It’s telling that the main criticism people keep regurgitating about Hasan, an entertainer who talks off the cuff for 50 hours a week, is a single comment he made seven years ago.
Meanwhile, there is a horde of right wing content creators who all constantly say far more horrible shit that the media conveniently ignores. The insane double standard between left-wing figures vs right-wing figures is truly ridiculous.

Yeah vote for the other guy who is Trump’s puppet. Let’s see which candidate associates with what type of people. One associates with a twitch streamer that have no power another associates with a man who is destroying lives of people.
0
u/Vankraken Virginia 9h ago
Such a poor way of understanding politics. El-Sayed is absolutely the better candidate to vote for but that association is going to drive away people. It's comical how much people will bend over backwards to mentally justify why it's not a big deal instead of just accepting that association with Hasan Piker is a bad thing in the world of politics. Ditch the illiberal shitbag and take the easy win.

Kari Lake won her primary (twice) and yet lost in the general (twice) because she was a garbage candidate. Winning a primary doesn't mean your the best candidate but it just means you got more people to vote for you in what is an inner party election that has a small percentage of votes cast compared to what we would expect in the general.
7
u/peaq_tv America 17h ago
Uhh... Moderate Dems have been winning all over the country, but that's really besides the point anyway.
I'm not just "saying" he's weak candidate. I'm saying if we look at the polling he's underperforming, that's a fact you simply can't argue with.
Stevens was polling better than AES in a general race btw.
Regardless, the point is not that he's doing poorly just because he's progressive. Personally I think it's because of choices he's made while campaigning. But the point is that he's not doing as hot as we would expect.
3
u/Televisions_Frank 13h ago

The fact that these elections are even close is shameful. You’ve got a lunatic obscenity in the WH, yet races are still close all over the country.
Anyone running under the GOP banner should be facing massive losses. Yet the midterms are going to be crazy close even before the Trump fuckery, and there’s no guarantee that the Dems will take either the senate or the house
Should be the biggest landslide in US electoral history given the clown show of corruption, war crimes, attacking allies and neighbours while propping up the likes of North Korea and Russia, and on and on and on. But nope.
This just underlines how lost the US is, and why nobody will ever trust the country again.

The pollster def didn’t know in October. Either side had a chance. Basically since 16 pres elections have been decided by 200k votes. In the last election, he was up by 15 points the day before election day and he barely won. If he’s barely ahead of these balls and you give a 15 point correction then he loses by a landslide. For whatever reason our poles are way out of whack and they always show Democrats ahead but they lose an election day.
