They are saying they will end a minority of people if they hold power. Listen to them and MAGA, they are telling us who they are.

Yes this is pointed violent rhetoric that he would like to see transgender people dead. That's exactly what this is. He is vague about it, but it's what he really means...at what point can self-defense laws apply? Asking for a friend, Reddit mods.

u/computercansada 11m ago

Self defense laws don't seem to apply to trans women at all, which isn't necessarily a break from how the legal system treats other minorities.

u/LheelaSP 2h ago

The only minority of people we should get rid of are billionaires.

u/chilidoggo 1h ago

When the dog whistle isn't loud enough, you just throw it away and get a real whistle.

But leftists are the evil violent ones

This shit infuriates me about Reddit.

If Reddit was around in 1945, they would hire extra Admins just to make sure people got banned for celebrating what happened in a Bunker in Berlin.

I get it, it's a private business and we're on their platform and they don't want to be seen as an entity that facilitates violence, especially against an administration that's threatened every communications-related business with all sorts of lawsuits since before he even took office...but if we ever get on the other side of this, I hope people remember...that when possessing the power and then given the choice, they decided to take a certain route.

I would just like a sane person to tell me:

  • When you are in the executive branch and you've overstepped your power
  • And the judicial branch has granted you extra leeway with that power
  • And the congress won't do anything about it, and even if they could, the enforcement mechanisms lay within the executive branch
  • Voting is dismantled or severely compromised

What course of action do the people take when they want to preserve the constitution?

This isn't a call to arms - this is a legitimate question posed by someone not creative enough to think of an answer other than the one that'll get me banned.

u/Adderall_Rant 2h ago

Theyve pretty much had this stance from the beginning of the party. The part that isn't being said - who's the next group to hate?

u/Successful-Phone562 Washington 47m ago

Teachers, doctors and the "Under-babied," imo (based on the seeds planted that are currently sprouting.)

u/Farabee 1h ago

They've been telling us who they are for a decade. Nobody seems to be listening, or perhaps their money is speaking louder than the votes.

u/NinjaWrapper 16m ago

I mean, they've been telling us. Now they're just reiterating it.

u/defaulticus 2h ago

I don't think he's implying they'll kill them all. They literally don't think trans people are really trans. (Or that gays are really gay, for that matter.) They think they're doing it for attention, or to piss off conservatives, and they think that once the mass hysteria that is other people's political views is sufficiently discredited - which to them is one election away - then the fever will break and trans people will all just realize that they were never really trans, and grow out of it.

u/imalurkernotaposter 2h ago

I see absolutely no reason to give him the benefit of the doubt.

u/defaulticus 2h ago

Its not the benefit of the doubt, its what I think (most of) the right really thinks. They think the world works just so, and everything that's different from their curated little worldview is made up by liberals to inconvenience them.

u/umpteenthrhyme 1h ago

Yes, he will. Even if not actively, which I do not believe he is counting out in his rhetoric, keeping people from life-saving medical care is passively genocidal.

Also, forcing them to not be themselves, is arguably worse than forcing a people to stop being a religion, as it is physically ingrained in who they are. I believe forcing a religious change would constitute ethnic cleansing at a minimum, if not genocidal, as well.

u/defaulticus 1h ago

A) I don't think people in this thread think "passive" genocide is whats meant here, A.1) Lots of Americans don't have healthcare so if that counts then we're already doing a passive genocide to poor people,

B) I don't think he'd consider that to be even sufficient, if he did want to kill them. Look at how immigrants are treated, he (or Miller? Someone in the admin) clearly wants to use armed forces to round them up and put them in camps, not just deny them medical care or make it hard for them to find work,

C) I don't think he even thinks that's necessary, because unlike race anti-trans people don't think this is a real characteristic of people, they think its a choice that they're making, one they can be convinced to stop doing.

u/JackedUpReadyToGo 2h ago

This is just Trump going "What do they hate? Trans? I'll stop that! I'll end all the bad things and I'll do all the good things!"

It's the dumbest, most simplistic kind of campaigning. And his base is dumb enough to be impressed by it.

I'm sure he'll end up harming trans people too (he already has) but it's not a main goal of his. It's just something he'll do if and when somebody reminds him of it.

u/defaulticus 2h ago

Yes but I think he believes they'll stop being trans once they realize that he's the best and liberals, trans and woke was all stupid. Like if he can just shout what he thinks loud enough everyone will hear, and since it makes sense to him it'll make sense to everyone who hears it. And its only the lying media run by his haters that has kept the whole country from hearing and agreeing with him about everything already. (Remember those "Trump was right about everything" hats? He really thinks that. He really thinks everyone else will think that, someday.)

u/notassigned2023 6h ago

Agreed, but you know they won't actually DO anything about it. Not only are they terribly ineffective people, but then they would lose the issue for the next election.

u/axlbomber 5h ago

That's what they said about women's rights for years.

"Republicans will never actually do anything about Roe v Wade."

"It's just a way to get people to the polls."

"If they actually do anything about it people will revolt."

Now look where we are.

Never underestimate what your enemy is capable of. And when they tell you their intentions, believe them.

u/VioletPaissa2077 4h ago edited 4h ago

Bullshit, they're already withholding treatment, practicing forced conversion therapy, and medically experimenting on trans people in prison.

This needs to be taken seriously because the GOP is out to enact a pogrom on the entire trans population and anyone who stands in their way.

u/notassigned2023 3h ago

I'll need a link on that experimenting on trans folks in prison claim.

u/VioletPaissa2077 1h ago edited 49m ago

Forced conversion therapy and tapering trans people off of and withholding medication is the intended medical experimentation.  Neither of those steps have any evidence of efficacy backing them up and plenty of evidence of causing harm.

There is an injunction in place because the BOP could not successfully defend the policy in court but there has been evidence of widespread violations and retaliation for reporting them.

u/notassigned2023 1h ago

Withdrawing hormones, surgery, and social accommodations might be cruel but does not fall under conversion therapy or medical experimentation. Overexaggerating makes the outcry less believable.

u/VioletPaissa2077 53m ago

First, regarding HRT, cessation can cause vasomotor symptoms, severe bone loss, cardiovascular problems, and metabolic dysfunction for individuals who no longer produce sex hormones, before even considering the severe mental health consequences for all patients.

Additionally, the BOP policy explicitly directed providers to attempt to cure dysphoria solely by affirming sex assigned at birth and using psychotropic medications.

Denying trans patients affirming mental healthcare, forcing them to socially detransition, denying or withdrawing hormone therapy, and only offering conversion therapy (they call it "exploratory") aimed at curing dysphoria without transition and psychiatric medications to cope all amounts to literal medical experimentation that flies in the face of evidence-based standards of care and best practices.

u/RogueA America 12m ago

It's literally cruel and unusual punishment for all the reasons described by the other commenter. Trans prisoners deserve adequate medical care and forcefully detransitioning them is horrific behavior.

u/notassigned2023 8m ago

I specifically said it was cruel but it falls short of Mengele levels that are usually thought of as medical experimentation. It does no good to describe something in a less than accurate way.

u/SleepCareful6461 3h ago

I disagree up to a point. I agree they are ineffective, but they have hurt people. They have taken people, innocent people, from their homes and made them disappear. They have killed people. People like you and me. Given enough time, they'll become more efficient if we allow them. We need to vote them out and not grow complacent.

u/Galappie 3h ago

If I had a dollar for every time someone claimed the right won’t do the horrible things they say they’ll do I could probably afford to buy a couple politicians.
